Big thank you to John for the loan of his lovely watch! A real sweetie this one. Definitely the best of the Explorer homages that I have encountered so far. I'm seriously tempted to pick one up, possibly the white dial, at the next restock. 36mm is great for me, but don't forget they also do a 40mm. Cheers, Jody

Jody: Thanks for reviewing the Smith's Everest. I recently waited and saved up and purchased the cream-face Smith's Everest Expedition 36mm and love it. This one is an homage to the Smith's Hillary carried to the top, except that the one e carried had the seconds hand dial at 6 o'clock. However, when Hillary decided to explore across Antarctica a couple years later he wore, not a Rolex, BUT a Smith's which looked just like this one, including the central seconds hand. This one keeps great time, fits my 6.5 in wrist well, and i wear it often. I had a Rolex 1016 purchased new in 1986, but gifted it to my daughter a few years ago. This Smith's scratches the itch! Keep doing what you do so well. I'd like to add a photo but cannot figure out how to do so. Thanks again, Mark
I managed to secure one of these from the last time it was stocked. It’s been on my wrist for the last 2 weeks and I love it. It’s my first experience with a 36mm watch and I think it suits my 6.75in wrist perfectly. Mine runs at about -1 to -3 seconds a day, can not complain!! The lume lasts through the night. I’ve been wearing it all night long, much to my wife’s chagrin, and it is always readable. 👍👍
I watched this when it came out in May '20 and have wanted this watch ever since. Finally managed to get one today and I'm really looking forward to it coming! Thanks for introducing me to this watch, it's really what I've been looking for
I like a video that takes me to school. I love learning more about watch history as I try to expand my knowledge of the history of time pieces!
Perfect size; this is what a watch should be.

Love it when the watches have this kind of dimension... beautiful watch n beautiful review...
Thank you for a fantastic review Jody and thank you John for sharing this spectacular little watch with us 😊👍
Nice one beautiful watch , my very first watch as a 1o year old back in 1975 was a Smiths boys watch black with luminous hands and a timer bezel , unfortunately i took this watch in the bath to bed and never took it off and beat it to death but what a watch. Have a Smiths vintage peace from the late 70s now that during their last hoorah was made in Japan still looks good and goes like a trooper. Great Vid Jody Thank You.
I bought the Smith's Everest expedition 36mm last time timefactors opened for orders and I haven't worn anything else since. Such a great watch, the heat blued hands are particularly beautiful.

I wish more watch company’s would produce watches of this size. It’s so perfect!!
Beauty piece, I pulled the trigger on one of these about 6 months ago, the store opens & closes quickly so be ready. After some lackadaisical grabbing of my C-card I finally moved quick enough to grab one and when it arrived I was even more impressed with it up close. Super solid watch, slick looking piece with some cool history behind it. It’s understated but gets plenty of attention from watch guys to my wife even regular joe’s that don’t care to much about watches ask about it. Love the 9 series Miyota which runs smooth, fit and finish are on point as well. Definitely a go to piece for all sorts of occasions that you won’t regret. Thanks again Jody for the review. I always know where to go for a solid review brother.
I haven't had any personal experience but see lots of comments that Eddie and Timefactors are pretty challenging to deal with.
A fine video, and a bit of good history. Kind of new in the watch game, i'm learning a lot from your channel, thx and keep up the good work.
Just bought a secondhand Smiths PRS-40 automatic (b/c it was a great price/condition, and ordering anything from Timefactors can be tricky.... last time they opened up for orders on the 17th they filled up and closed them again in about 20 minutes 😬) and I’m loving it! They have some nice pieces. Very impressed with the quality. It’s a unique as well.
I finally landed one on ebay that was not insanely price inflated. It's coming from your neck of the woods so I might need to wait close to a month for it to arrive in the states. I've rewatched this video a few times over the last year to keep my motivation to hunt for one on high. Thanks as always for your work!
Just bought the Everest expedition... just love the watch. Great review yet again..
Glad to see the glowing review. I woke up at 6am PST to order an Everest Expedition knowing Eddie would close it down in minutes due to the rush of orders. I think he shut it down in less than 10 minutes.
I was lucky enough to pick up one of these in the last order window. It came about a week ago and I haven't taken it off. Great watch, wears great and have to say quick response from Eddie on emails. Definately recommend taking the plunge, the better half is just about coming round to it as well!
Great to see a time factors review, I have two the original Everst and a PRS68 and love them both.
Jody, your videos are simply the best. Thank you!

I would love all three models if I’m being honest, they are the best looking watches I have seen in a long time.
This one is high in my list of keepers, definitey a superb way to discover that 36mm is perfectly appropriate.
Hi Jody, great review as always. I was lucky enough to bag one of these from the latest release. I cannot recommend this watch highly enough, it’s absolutely cracking. Make sure you have the finger on the trigger for the August release as they sell out almost immediately (unsurprisingly)
Jodie the Shirt Logo took me back to a great time for me ...” Are YOU Reeling in the years --stowing away the time....ya da ya da ya da...
I have been very happy with mine PRS-25W in the past months.
Eddie certainly doesn’t run his company in the way other brands do, but his watches are fantastic. I recently bought an Everest Expedition and I love it, the bracelet is outstanding
Man, Caseback Watches just put out a Smiths vid! Great brand!
Got mine yesterday stunning watch.
Those are really nice watches that while not historical per se, certainly evoke that historical feeling. Any major dude with half a heart surely will tell you, my friend.
Good honest review! Well done. I've purchased numerous Timefactors watches over the years. Brilliant brand with honest bang for buck watches.. Cheers, Chris
Love the Steely Dan shirt, Jody!
Great video as always Jody. You should check out Eddie's Smiths PRS-29A, which is an exact reissue of the Smiths W10 military watch that was issued to the British army in the 60s 70s. More original and truer to history than the Everest. I really regret not buying one a couple of years back.
There is also a 40mm version of this watch. I managed to snag one. Same movement etc., same price. I love it. Currently running at +2 seconds per day.

AWESOME SHIRT!!!!
A lovely watch. It would probably be my number one if I decide to buy an Explorer type watch. It is a homage, but for me something sets it apart from the rest. Not sure what that is, but I love it!
Thanks for the review from Down Under. Cheers from NYC
I have one coming and have this movement in my Seals Dark Seal 200m. Yes you can hear it, but it is a lot quieter than the rotor on the Omega 300m ceramic/titanium for example, which I love to hear the rotor on, and I was actually disappointed that the Miyota movement was quieter.
Heads up my fellow timepeace connoisseurs. The manufacture of the Smiths PRS-25, Eddie, is real jerk. I will never purchase a watch from him after I saw the rude emails he sent other watch reviewers over defective watches.

Really? That's not a good thing. You have any references i can refer to?
I bought the 40mm PRS-25 (I do have an 8" wrist) second hand and am pretty pleased. The bracelet and clasp are well made and the looks are lovely with just a few notable differences from the Rolex it is a homage of. The price is right, and the only homage I like better is the Borealis Adraga, of which I have two. Thank you for the review.
Man this is beautiful!
Great review. It’s hard enough to get hold of one of these watches now... after your review they are going to be even harder! I’m glad I picked up my Everest expedition this week. One thing to note... although, as you stated, the bracelet does have 5 micro adjusts, you can actually only use 2 as the fake rivets stop the clasp from closing after the second adjustment.

I have this watch. I’ve known Eddie from timefactors for almost 20 years and I had long conversations with him about making the 36mm version. I’m so glad he did and happy for him that’s it’s selling well. Good video and lovely review .

Hi, I’m looking at buying an Everest. One concern is the minute hand. The minute hand looks really big and a lot thicker than the hour hand. They seem unbalanced. What do you think? The Lume picture in the video highlights my point very well.

I almost ended up owning a vintage gold cased Smiths watch - one left to me by my Grandfather but worn to death by my Father. He left me the £12 Casio with big numbers that he wore in his dotage. Somehow I feel like I've lost out... My Grandfather's Smiths' was a square design dating from around the time of the first assent of Everest and for some reason I've had a hankering for a good square watch for well over half a century...

I have a vintage Smith watch left to me by my Grandfather, It was his 25 year service gift from GWR.
You sir, are responsible for most of my expenses. I am going to get one of these also. Thanks. A. Lot. Joddie.
Been looking at one of those, very nice.
If there is ever a watch that has done it right in the "Homage" realm it is the Smith's Everest. I had this same watch and at 36mm it totally changed my thoughts on what size of watch is perfect. I have a 7 inch wrist and this watch sits so well on the wrist that I now prefer a watch in the 36-37mm range. Well done Jody on this well done video on a well made watch.

I have a 39mm Datejust and it's oversized on my wrist. 36mm is defined the sweet spot imo, or smaller still. I don't like big watches at all
Reminds me of my vintage LeRoy granted mine is of the era but it just shows a classic doesn't age
Lovely and having owned cars with SMITHS instruments I like that association. Would have to be the 40mm though, but deffo one to consider. Plus of course another cracking review Jody. 😃👍
My grandpa probably had 8 in wrists and wore a 36mm every day. That just adds to the appeal for me.
One of your best videos. Congratulations 😉
Thank you thank you thank you! Youve reviewed my dream watch 🥰
love your shirt!

Nice watch, super homage
Another great review Jody. Thanks to you, I just bought a pre-owned 40mm on eBay. Appreciate your awesome reviews and charismatic style. Merry Christmas 🎄 and Happy New Year 🍾
So happy you’re reviewing the updated one with improved bracelet. The previous bracelet was just not a match for this watch.
The Smiths Everest Expedition PRS-25W with retro creme dial and red second hand is extremely handsome.
Thanks, Jody, been looking at the 40mm for a while, looks even better now...on second thought, dang you Jody.😉🤣
WOW - thx! I have a Birthday coming in July but can wait another month or two for this nice watch!
Had my eye on this for a while now... 🤔
It looks great on your wrist, but as you said, on my 8 1/2” wrist it would look like a postage stamp! Great video as always Jody!!!
Good stuff.Bit of trivia .If a vintage smiths has England at 6 o'Clock it was a higher end model made in Cheltenham. If it says UK it was an entry level offering built under contract in Wales and never really intended to be serviced.Smiths deluxe was higher end.Cheers!
I have a left wrist that is 8" (used to be 8.25") and own a Tiger Concept 36mm 1016 homage. I bought it as I was worried about how a 90s Rolex Explorer (saving up) might look and feel on me. I can confirm that there is nothing to worry about. The watch looks and feels great on my wrist. I can't stress enough that us people with chunky wrists need to stop worrying... 36mm is a great watch size. Anything larger than 40mm that isn't either for 200m+ diving or has multiple complications (like a chrono) is nearing excessive. 36mm suits a dress watch as well as a rugged sports\field watch with 50m to 100m water resistance being ample.
Lovely watch! I really want one.
Glad Smiths is getting more exposure! I've just got my hands on a PRS29A, a recreation of the old military issued Smiths W10. Couldn't be happier with it, I think the PRS29A and Everest Expidition watches have great history and am a bit sad only the Rolex homage gets looked at.

Aaaghhhh these look so good. I'm going to have to buy one at some point.
Stunner. I’m gonna go for one, something to look forward to! Thanks Jody, great review (do you know where the watch is actually assembled?)
I have the cream dial / blued hands version of the Smiths Everest, and I’m here to tell ya it is superb! By far my most comfortable piece - the 20mm ss bracelet makes the watch wear larger than you may expect. Also, old school Smiths “boobs” logo is the best!!

Great everyday wearable pieces!
That cream coloured Everest Explorer with the red seconds hand is amazing. Pity it's only 36mm, but I hear you say there's a 40mm version so I might need to check this out!
Got this just recently and was afraid that it will be too small, turns out 36mm is such a perfect size. This is my first experience with a Miyota movement and I wish they would have gone for an ETA movement instead. Got into an argument with my wife the other day and I emphasized the point I was trying to make by moving my hand and the only sound in the room after that was the noise of the rotor ... quite awkward, considering my wife was was angry with me about buying another watch.
Keep coming back to this video. Great watch. The bracelet seems a little wide though. Almost makes the whole watch like a bracelet. The watch doesn't stand out quite enough. The 40mm watch has a different clasp though. Gorgeous watch though
Great review 👍 I was fortunate enough to get the Smiths Everest Expedition this last round.... waiting impatiently for delivery.... love the rivet bracelet.....u need to review this model next.
Great review Jody. I've been interested in this for a while and keen to see a review. Looks superb. Did this one have the tapered bracelet?

@@robworthington7431 The PRS36 is a close match, but the dial finish is brushed metal. The original de Luxe was enamel. The cases are also different, PRS36 has distinctive corners while the de Luxe was round. I think the Bambino comes closer, despite the missing numbers. Apart from the Orient there are some Timex that are close - Fairfield or Waterbury retro lines. What we really want is a Moser & Co - only a cool 20K 8-o
That will work for me,I'm getting 1 of these.

The Steinhart Ocean one has the same face as the Rolex Explorer or the Smith Everest. But the Steinhart is in Bronze available. I bought the green ocean one with straps made from canvas. There is also Rubber or Leather available. The motor is a Eta 2824-2 elabore. 1000ft water resistant.
Most people in the Netherlands think Smiths is a brand of crisps. I think first of the dials in the dashboard of the original Mini and the Austin1300. Secondly heaven knows I am miserable now because they are very hard to get.
