The Warriors Have A Star... But They Don't Know It

Спорт

Today we're going to be talking about the 3rd year leap of Jonathan Kuminga, which has led to alot of fans questioning the lack of playing time he's been getting, particularly during the 2023-23 season. The team has been needing a spark from one of their younger players as their main core of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andrew Wiggins have all been showing signs of regression. And after a report that Kuminga had lost faith in Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, things have gotten even rockier in Golden State. Ever since that 2022 title I believed that the only way the warriors would win another title was if they rose like the 2014 spurs, their aging core still being big contributors but the mvp being a newer young player. Kuminga looks set to star in that Kawhi role. Definitely not happening this year, but wouldn't say it's not possible for 2025 or even 2026...

we need to give JK his flowers while we still can. I really hope the front office doesn’t do anything frantic or regrettable with JK or any of the Dubs’ young guys before February’s trade deadline. I really don’t like this high turnover of younger guys just bc the season isn’t working out. Honestly, I think JK could be the future of the Warriors after Klay, Dray and Curry finish their careers. JK had played with so much passion this season despite Kerr’s decisions with his minutes. You can tell JK is a dog and wants to win. It’s in his demeanor and body language when he plays.

There is only one of two Scenarios: Kerr is Incompetent and a figurehead while Mike Brown made all the schematic decisions before leaving and becoming the Kings HC or 2) Kerr is protecting egos. Klay has showed his vitriol for even being considered as "coming off the bench" If Kuminga, Moody, TJD perform better overall and average a certain number of minutes they can ask for more money.... Klay is under producing and riding off nostalgia glory "4 rings" (the fourth doesn't count, Jordan Poole was the number 2 scorer on the last championship run while Klay was out hurt) Game six Klay is in retirement.

So distressing to see them play well OCCASIONALLY, SOMETIMES, ONCE IN A WHILE, basically at 33% of the 2022 season. Except for Steph it's sad to Kerr trying to relive the past with Looney, Klay, Dray, and Wiggs out there. As a fan, I've had enough - snore.

i wouldn't say wiggins has been terrible all season, at least offensively since about mid november wiggins is averaging 13.5 pts on 46/39/81 splits in 28 mpg during a 27 game stretch so he's shooting efficiently on offense with the major difference is his minutes and shot attempts are down compared to previous season ... and he's been playing a lot better since being inserted back into the starting lineup averaging 16.3 pts on 55/38/81 splits in 33 mpg the past 7 games defensively is where wiggins has been bad for the most part and speculation is that he never fully recovered from his rib fracture in may in the playoff series vs the lakers until maybe a month into this season, wiggins didn't play for team canada in september which he's always done with international play, and wiggins struggled as badly as he ever did in that first month of play ... that kind of rib injury can take up to 4-6 months, maybe even longer for some people to come back from but ever since the first month at least on offense wiggins' shooting % is actually around or in some instances better than his warriors career averages ... it's possible wiggins' defense gets back to where in previous seasons with the warriors as he's now possibly fully recovered and in 100% game shape after coming back from what was a serious rib injury but in regards to the video kuminga put up another great game tuesday with 26 pts 7 reb 2 ast 3 stl 1 blk on 11/19 shooting in 39 mins ... kid has all the pure raw talent to be a star in the NBA

Heard this from the commentators watching the game against the Kings- Kuminga told Kerr and the coaching staff that he wants to be Kobe type player, and Kerr instead told him that they wanted him to be a Shawn Marion type player. This just blows my mind, that you have this raw talent who can score easily and in so many ways, and you instead tell him to curtail his growth and be a ‘glue’ guy. Kerr has to be one of the worst kinds of coaches for young players, he only thrives (thrived) with established superstars.

it's disappointing to see how the warriors have purposely throttled the growth of their young drafts. no rhymes or reasons whatsoever. it's so hard to understand the motives when you see the season play out how it has. if it was for the betterment of the team, ten sure, but when the team is losing while you bench young athletic and talented players.. it's so silly to keep doing it. what's that phrase? repeating the same experiment and hoping for a different outcome is insanity.

Look up his bio, this kid grew up playing on garage outdoor courts in Africa. Also all the exposure he got from watching and learning the game, came from scraping together his hard earned pennies as a teenager in order to afford to watch KZread videos of KOBE. This guy has got Mamba Mentality period. Also if he or his camp hadn’t spoken up about him feeling that his talents and potential are being wasted in Golden State, we’d probably not be discussing him.

Kerr has been in a fog this season. Tunnel vision with aging vets.

Ok, keep Dray and Klay but stop fantasizing!! Let them SHARE 20 minutes a game (or less). What hope is there with this OLD CORE? ALL are not what they were. "Stale" per CY. I care about giving Steph a chance at another championship, BUT as a fan I'd MUCH RATHER WATCH MOODY, Podz, Trace, JK, and yes... LESTER Q WOULD BE AN OFFENSIVE AND DEFENSIVE UPGRADE TO KLAY!! Even in the garbage minutes Q showing a whole lot more energy -- he can ball!!
