I loved the tension building from the start of the episode. The longer they are together in the Civic Republic the higher the risk of them being found out. With Jadis, Thorne and Beale on Rick’s case and him trying to keep Michonne and the people back home safe, the pressure intensifies. Rick is torn, he knows he can’t leave without risking the lives of everyone he loves. The final scene when the pot has truly boiled over, Michonne pulling them out of the helicopter makes sense, she knows in that moment there is no other way. I look forward to next weeks reaction. Thank you for your reaction. Enjoyed every moment.

Danai and Andy deserve all the awards. The show is doing really well right now. 8.9 on IMDb and 90 percent on rotten tomatoes. 62 out of 100 on metacritic which indicates "generally favorable" reviews on the platform.

No, not yet but she is jealous because it took her years to get Beal's attention but he is looking at Dana/Michonne after weeks of being there. She called her crew weak but Thorne proved to be the weakest link and got mad becasue Dana/Michonne show'd her up and did her job for her. Thorne is a problem that will either get them killed or herself cause she has threatened to kill Dana/Michonne twice now.

I loved the episode. Jadis always wanted Rick for herself. Thorne I think doesn't want to loose Rick and is threatened by Michonne. Rick is completely broken and I hope in the next episode he finally finds out about RJ so he can get his mind right

Michonne never said she would hide herself, only play along with Rick’s plan until they leave. After his deception all bets are off!

Rick has NOT drunk the CRM Kook-Aid. He’s broken. He knows the power of the CRM and believes there’s no other options to keep Michonne safe. He was planning to dip WITH Michonne until a Jadis came around threatening his kid and friends. That’s what stopped him, not the CRM. He couldn’t care less about this organization.

Comparing Michonne here to her back in Woodbury is so true. Even in Woodbury her face said it all. This felt like a transition episode, but Michonne made this episode for me. She was giving awesome walker kills, emotions, I’m over it looks, etc. 😂 I can’t wait until we get our Rick back, our leader back. In Michonne I trust.

Great commentary at the end. There are a lot of moving parts in both Michonne and on Rick's circumstances. It's not black and white....a lot of grey there. I love the point you stressed is Michonne has lost A lot to get to Rick. Innocent lives taken with people she cared about AND she has left her children to find him. She's not going to go away quietly...that's not in her nature!

One half of the season down, and it has been a marvelous time, Jess, sharing this show with you and hearing your fantastic thoughts and insights. If the second half is as good as the first, we are in for a real treat.

Michonne does need to be careful imo. All she needs to do is get it through his head of who he really is. One we get the real Rick back, the fun will begin. There is no escape… Rick is going to have to truly change the CRM before he can ever be free. They plausibly could escape by faking their dealths… but all it takes is for Jadis to not believe that and either scout Alexandria for signs of either of them…. Or just destroy the place.

I think Beal's sword is just ceremonial so we won't see him fighting with it but they could do that

I love the complex nature of Jadis’s character. I smile when she enters the scene. Plus she saved Rick’s life. Where would we be if she hadn’t saved him.

I don’t think Thorne knows that Dana is Rick’s wife. She’s just jealous of Michonne’s innate strength and skills. She recognizes a real A when she sees it. Thorn is NOT an A. She’s weak and quickly drank the Kool-Aid. A real leader can think on the field and pivot. Why make Dana sit on the sidelines when she can help?!? Thorne needs to go too!

I believe Rick is currently going through one of his many character arcs. Rick is a leader yes, but throughout many of his failed escape attempts from the CRM have shown he’s just lost that fire in him. He spent a WHOLE year having given up and basically was like “There’s no point anymore” So he’s just become this follower. Alone, I don’t think he could have had any chance of escaping but I do believe Jadis is 100% right, together Rick AND Michone can do just about anything. Michonne is not a follower, and when her and Rick’s paths crossed she had JUST decided to give up and go home. It was purely fate that brought them together but now that they are there is NO WAY in hell she is going to leave him. I didn’t believe for a second Michonne was going to leave when she read that letter Rick wrote to her. I like what you also said about her just standing there observing everything around her like she did in Woodbury. I could see that as well. I think she’s been observing the CRM, how they operate and ALSO has been observing Rick himself. I understand Rick’s perspective, he’s been there longer than Michonne has so he thinks they can never leave and he’s just gotten into that mindset. I do think that Michonne pulling Rick out of that helicopter was her being like “I’m done playing around.” She’s putting her foot down because not only does she want some answers, but I think she’s going to be the one to light that fire in him again and be like “This is who you are, you’re a leader, I’m not leaving here without you, you have a daughter you need to get back to.” Also I’m probably wrong, I kind of understood why she didn’t tell him about RJ in the beginning because she didn’t want to mess with his head anymore than it already is but I am curious if she’s going to bring him up in the next episode to kind of be like “This is also why you need to come home, it’s not just Judith but you have a son too.” Again I’m probably wrong on that…I think it could either motivate him to try and find a way to leave together or it could mess with his head further. But this show has just been absolutely fantastic so far. Also, that scene where Rick pulls her aside and she pulls that helmet off of him…it’s incredible to see just HOW much Danai as an actress can say on her face without uttering a single word.

18:09-18:15 The PRB (My guess would be Pilot Rescue Beacon) is what was activated when Rick hit the ground in episode 1, before he knew it was Michonne that was involved in bringing his helicopter down. It looked to me like he was the only person who had one, so I am guessing they are normally assigned 1 per helicopter, and is how the CRM would soon arrive to find them.

Thorne and Jaydis both want Rick.

Thorne does not want Rick. The woman who plays her has said that multiple times, not to mention they haven't put a single romantic hint in between them on the show. They're friends-lite. That's it.

@@lumariadp - Either the actress is lying, don't know what her character's motivation is or she's a horrible actress. The actress stated they are friends and in the show she tells Michonne they are closer than friends. Why would she say that to a woman that doesn't supposed to know Rick and doesn't care what their relationship is unless Thorne is claiming her territory and feels Michonne is a threat to that. As for single romantic hint, oh yes there are a ton of romantic hints on her part. If you can't see it, well, you're in good company. This was said about Rick and Michonne for years until they kissed on the couch in season 6. Some of us knew it back in season 3. Rick clearly wanted Michonne and she ignored him. When Rick was flirting with that woman in Alexandria, Michonne didn't say a word to her because Michonne didn't care, even though they were technically living together. So don't believe the actress, believe what's clearly on the scene.

@@nialcc Oh my God! You've just reminded me.... I'd forgotten about almost everyone ignoring & dismissing the attraction signs Andrew Lincoln was intentionally giving towards Michonne. He was pestering the writers for years to make Richonne an actual thing. You're right; the hints were laid out years before the sofa scene in S6 actually happened.😊

You could probably say that Pearl is becoming a "Thorn" to our the GOAT Rick Grimes. I dunno about you but her last name speaks F O R E S H A D O W I N G. I can now feel like something's really, really wrong with Thorne. She's getting left-out thanks to our zombie-killing mommy badass mofo Michonne and attachment to Rick, afterall Rick's her waifu goddamnit. One thing it clicked on me is that Thorn is becoming like Shane. If you remember all the way back in Season 1 Shane had Rick in his sights of his shotgun and Dale just stood there in the forest without saying a word. This very much parallels it and making as a callback to that scene. This situation has come to this. Rick has become Lori, Michonne has become Rick and Thorne becomes Shane. This is about to get really complicated I swear man every time Jadis threatens Rick and his family, her chances of survival shrinks down by a 1000% and how many times these types of folks threatening Rick? It doesn't end well who fucks with the wrong people hahaha. It's about fucking time Rick says something that i could say the same thing for all of us. Jadis really got herself a shitty haircut and be acting sassy back at Jadis. Anyways Rick's still gonna kill her. Not today, not tomorrow and he will and yet we can all wait and see. Something tells me Rick MAY or MAY NOT kill Thorne but if it comes to that? I can think of Rick killing Thorne BUT the same way how Rick killed Dwight in the OG TWD Comics. Imagine that as it would be crazy as shit. Also Rick Grimes finally ranking up? That's a blessing and hopefully we'll see the Echelon Briefing that the CRM-high ranking brass alongside Major General Beale. Just what the fuck are they gonna be doing there meeting in one place discussing of their next plans ahead. Also meeting on one place? Would be ashamed if they all die there because this is perfect opportunity/window to take out CRM and forcing them to set back their plans for quite awhile until regaining what they lost. The way Michonne threw herself and her husband Rick out of the Black Hawk helicopter is just batshit fucking insane and after all this is a show. The two will be fine as it is because plot armor hahaha.
