The Minions are back - and so are loads of our favorite actors from the franchise! Minions: The Rise of Gru features a whole lot of our favorite voices and some new ones that got us really excited - and some of them might not be who you think they are!
Steve Carell is back as Gru, the only difference this time is that he had to pitch up quite a bit to make himself sound like little Gru! Then, of course, there’s the actor that is one of the driving factors behind the Despicable Me franchise in its entirety - since he not only voices the most characters but happens to lend his hand to writing, producing, and directing as well. A legend of the screen, who happens to have had multiple incredible films come out in 2022, lends their voice to a very fun character - any guesses which other animated feature they did around the same time?? There is some real-life royalty included in this cast - we’re talking about a real-life Dame whose voice many of us have come to know as that of “Lady Whistledown”.
Some characters were voiced by action stars of the screen - and one of their names definitely gives away which cast member they wound up playing! One actor behind a cameo character happens to be multi-talented, so honestly, we’re a bit surprised they didn’t end up rapping at some point in the movie!
No matter how long the actor had been part of the franchise, every single performer brought their characters to life in the best way.

Steve is an awesome guy, and he really did well off of this gig. He was on (5) movies at this point and DM 4 is in production. Pretty dang good.

@@angelwrapper1003 Steve is an awesome guy and beyond likable, but in all candor he would be nuts not to want to continue. Easy paycheck voice work, plus he seems to like it. A no brainer.

Took my daughter to 'Minions: ROG', instead of 'Lightyear'. Not a fan of Disney cutting Tim Allan out, and being overly woke about it.

@@ShrimpyDoesKZread to be honest, Minions can be funny and sometimes it can't be funny. Most of the jokes were very overused and recycled so I just can't expect like a big laugh from whatever they're saying
I love seeing my childhood getting enjoyed by adults and teens it makes me smile 🙂

This film was a masterpiece, an absolute Infinity/10. Watching this piece of art was truly an exquisite experience. Out of all the movies I have ever watched, Minions Rise of Gru is definitely one of them. Widely regarded as one of the best sequels ever made.

Steve's voice is amazing... 🤣
Lot of talent voice acting in this film, and it's fabulous... actually, they've all been fabulous. The one I had to look up way back during Despicable Me was Julie Andrews. I could not believe that what, 50 years after playing Mary Poppins and Maria (The Sound of Music) can still rock it as a voice actress.

Just watched the movie in the cinema a few days ago and I liked it a lot!
Loved this movie, Steve Carrell is always great, but this movie was filled with a off the wall voice cast, which made it better. Dolph and Jean-Claude have worked together on numerous of action movies together, Jean-Claude and Danny Trejo have also worked together before, it's great to see these action stars getting this type of roles and work, it's something different then their usual and Van Damme is quite funny when he is taking a stab at comedy roles.
Featured so many legends in a movie are TIGHT.
Fun fact: Michelle Yeoh was also the voice of soothsayer from KUNG FU PANDA 2.now i know why she is voiced as the kung fu woman in the movie

I remember the first movie came out when i was in collage at my home town. That was first English movie ever released in movie theatre(Usually Dubbed version in Hindi used released in Hometown). Used to see posters everyday but never went for the movie. And now that my one of regret not to see the movie that time in theatre. And years letter here we are fanning over each movie release.

Same here. Just started watching the US office and half the time my brain is thinking it's Gru 🤣 To be fair these movies were and are still my childhood. The first Despicable Me came out when I was 9 I think. There's apparently a Despicable Me 4 in the works which I'm stoked for too
is it possible to replicate what steve has done in all these movies i dont think so just like there was one john candy there could only be one steve
