I know a good father who has been in prison for over a decade because his ex wife manipulated his stepdaughter to lie he moslested her. The defense lawyer totally screwed him and even the grown step daughter since admitted it was all a lie because her mother was threatening her but it's no use. He's still locked up. His other 3 biological kids have had to live with their dad locked up because of that horrible woman.

Just to play devil's advocate.. My mom never left me with someone she'd never met.. Even throughout high school she met all my friends so she knew who I was spending time with and whose home I'd be at. My parent's divorced before I was in the 3rd grade. My mother was always the type of parent that wanted me to let her know where I was going, when I got there, when I left, who I was with, etc. At the time I looked at it as overprotective, but since I've grown up. I realize she wanted to do HER best to keep me safe in this world where people of all ages are kidnapped off of the streets. I had friends whose parents didn't act like my mom so they didn't understand.

One thing that struck me, said she asked him if she could watch them. Then switched it to say she asked him if he could use one of the normal baby sitters.

Whoopi keeps bringing Kate back to this, “This his time/day with the kids!”

When the children are not in your custody Kate, they are not in YOUR CUSTODY. The father had every right to pick and choose who he wanted. Legally you would have to file a motion to discuss sitters, after hour care, religion, education, medical care etc etc... otherwise the father has every right to decide what is best for the children under is custody. I rarely ever say this but Whoopi is dead on and absolutely correct. Intuition or not, Kate was trying to control a situation that was legally not in her control.

It's called a wellness checkup. That's what she should have done. I agree if she suspected something then something should be done. But in a divorce scenario the last thing you do is initiate a confrontation with the person you now have legal boundaries with. That's how you lose custody of your children. A wellness checkup initiates law enforcement to stop by and investigate her concerns and her ex husband would have no power to stop it because now the state is involved. That's how you operate in a divorce situation. Even she admitted what she did was wrong. And her actions is exactly why courts put legal limitations between the mother and father.

You would think that with her "amazing mommy intuition" and nursing degree that she would have known that a child can be treated very successfully while still remaining in their home for ADD/ADHD. I've never heard of institutionalizing a child for ADD/ADHD in my life! In fact as someone who has dealt with ADD my entire life and also had several family members with it as well, I can say that putting a child with ADD/ ADHD into a group home for mentally ill kids and cutting off virtually all of their family support is about the LEAST intuitive thing I can think of! She is seriously deranged and needs help!

Alison Self totally in agreement with you. I have 15 yr old boy with ADHD, a 38 yr old husband with ADHD and I have never ever thought of institutionalizing my child. When he was diagnosed at 6, he felt as if he had some type of contagious disease. I immediately clear that up and told him no baby you have a condition which is nothing near a contagious disease. People with your condition are the second brightest, smartest human beings on Earth. He asked who were the first? I said children with autism! He says really mommy? I said YES! They are way too smart for this tiny world to understand. I then went on to make several things to prove to him he wasn't defective or anything close to. One of those things was s list of all the important/famous people with ADHD/ADD. In that list was the one he admired the most.... EINSTEIN! He was so shocked and impressed,he couldn't believe it. I have never ever allowed my son to feel or be made to feel less than, broken, defective, a problem or be labeled...no way! When I told his psychologist all I had done to show my son there's nothing wrong with having such condition. The psychologist stood up gave me the biggest of hugs. His face was filled with admiration. He tells me we need more parents like you....more mom's to be exact!

It's no big surprise that kids with ADHD aren't very beloved by teachers. Especially old, burnt out teachers. My brother has confessed to me that growing up, he always just thought he was "bad". It really struck a chord with me hearing that and as a mom myself, it's something I won't forget. On the other side of the coin, I had ADD, but not the hyperactive component. It took me much longer to be diagnosed. My ADD makes it hard for me to to listen and focus. As a result I always thought that I was "dumb". Labels hurt and can be something a child carries with them for the rest of their lives. By Kate putting her son in a home for it, I can't even imagine how damaging that could be! She is just a control freak and despises what she can't control whether it be her husband, her child, or anything else. Thank you for sharing your story about your son! It warms my heart to hear how you are handling ADHD compared to Kate! We need more mom's like you!!! 🙌🙏

@@GPlusZGaming oh it has not been easy. I too have ADD and trying to get a diagnosis as an adult is nearly imposible because everyone wants you to be depressed! You trying to tell them wait no that's not it. Then insisting, yes you are depressed. There were days were I wanted to give up but then I'd look at my confused child. Confused because he didn't understand why his mother is exhausted or why she was sad. That face always made me snap out of everything. But I did madicate my child. Yes, most are against that but the difference is I never medicated my child for my benefit, No I medicated him for his! It was a night and day difference. We are not supposed to do a Casey Anthony and use Xanax as Xanny the Nanny to benefit us. I never settled for what Drs said to me. I read, researched etc. Changed meds as soon as I saw noticed the bad or ugly. Now at 15 we both decided to no longer use medicine and we'd tackle the bad grades as they presented. He's always been an A, A+ student never in trouble BUT we communicate a lot. And I don't loosen the leash too much. Constantly reminding him of how special he is. How much he's loved. How proud we are of him. Never ever making feel like a burden a broken human....that makes a hell of a difference!! We need more encouraging, praising etc with our special children. I'm sorry your brother was made to feel in such way. I think it's part of been uninformed and uneducated.

I wanted to let you know that after, and frankly while I was reading your comments...I cried my heart out. You said everything I wished I could have said over the years. Thank You for giving those of us that suffer perceived misconceptions (of not only ADD/ADHD but the choice of medication because of it) a voice. If you don't mind I just might steal some of your argument when faced with having to explain that my child isn't bad and that taking medication because of it isn't a bad thing.

I hate this show with a passion. No one is ever able to finish a sentence without someone talking over them.

I used to see her show and always hated how she treated her husband. He was always belittled by her comments. He just couldn't do anything right. Bless their children and everyone. I hope the best for the children. I liked that Whoopi confronted her.

Your so right. Peace for the kids, no bashing each other, both need to agree on all decisions, they still have kids to raise together. A lot of kids too.

He is 100% believable. Even at the time I thought she was a miserable person to have to live with based on what you could see in the episodes. I remember thinking ,he wasn't a perfect guy but I had never seen somebody take so much abuse and actually felt he was being emasculated publicly. He obviously loved his kids so much he was reluctant to end his marriage before she asked for it. I think most men would have been fed up well before he was. I also remember thinking she was physically beautiful until I got a sense of her personality. The narcissism slaps you in the face all day every day. I would loathe spending a day with a person like her. I feel terrible for her children. A"Mommy Dearest " mom if I've ever seen one.

looks like Kate is jealous of her ex, using concern for the kids as a front.

My ex use to pull the same crap on me. She would always try to control what I did with our kids when I had them. Her behavior is nothing but narcissistic control.

Mother’s intuition is her way of hiding that she was upset that Jon was choosing someone else over her. Narcissists can’t take it when they see their exes happy.

She even said at the end “when you’re used to having all of the control...”

Speaking from the perspective of a child of divorced parents, I don't understand WHY John had a cow over Kate being with her own children if John wasn't even going to be there. WHY did he get a babysitter for HIS custody day??? Why not spend that time with his kids??? I get the law, but I'm kinda with Kate on this, let HER babysit her OWN kids if John isn't going to be there!! HIS custody day means squat if he's not even there! I'm sorry, if you're not gonna be there for your kids on your day, let the other parent have them! No need to get a babysitter involved. Kate IS manipulative and controlling, but in this, I get where she's coming from!

@@AaronNickolas7 Kate was awful to not only Jon but to some of the children. If she was comfortable treating her family the way that she did on camera imagine how bad it was off screen. And when one parent has been designated to have that day as their custody day they are allowed to hire childcare they are allowed to do what they want in terms of caring for the children on those days. Just because there's another parent involved does not mean that that parent gets to dictate how the other behaves on their designated custody day. The idea that because you are a parent to the child as well you're suddenly allowed to behave however you want to and get the say over everything going on on another custody day is simply idiotic. Unless the custody agreement specifies that someone isn't allowed to choose the babysitter that they would like to use for their own children then you being the other parent has nothing to do with anything. You make your choices for your days not everybody's choices on days that you don't have custody. It just doesn't work like that and you can get your panties all up in a bunch about it but she was in the wrong. You can tell by the story that she's manipulating the truth. She had mothers intuition about a person she had never met and instead of handling that like a rational adult and going to the lawyers and saying "look there's a problem here" she chose to act in violation of the law, try to control how Jon handled his custody days, and behaved in a way that was irrational, illogical and would have had the most harmful impact on the children had they actually been there...she's claiming to be trying to protect her kids but she herself is doing things that would likely traumatize them because she chooses every single wrong way to go about dealing with her supposed concerns. Her behavior makes no sense based on what she says that she wants. And if you spent a single second watching any part of their marriage divorce or anyting else unfold you would know that there is absolutely no way that she spoke to Jon kindly about the babysitter situation. The idea that she's correct or that any of what she's saying makes any sense is absolutely ridiculous. 🤣

if Whoopi had the chance to push a little more...Kate was about to push back and show her true colors!

The fact that Whoopi points out Kate wanted them to bring this up, and then Kate says with a hint of attitude, “if you’re askin for my comments” proves how much Kate tries to manipulate the media. She wanted to pretend to be on this show and have no knowledge this would get brought up. She wanted a reason to publicly bash Jon. Good for Whoopi for pointing out Kate’s fault in the situation!

I think that everyone believed that they were separated but by the time they aired the show Kate and John had been divorced for months but had to "pretend" in public that they were still together/separated for the sake of their show/ratings! So everyone saw him being with someone new as a betrayal towards kate and their family and character assanation on his part! It was and has always been a lie and kate used it to her advantage to earn favor in the public eye and drive everyone and everything against John as a horrible person and father including turning the kids against their own father!

@@darrellb6583 You really need to watch Marriage Story on Netflix. While its fiction, it demonstrates how lawyers will use any little thing against the other spouse to gain as leverage to take more. You better believe if by law it's considered cheating, then cheating would be used in court against him. That's why it matters if a divorce is final or not vs separated, and I believe what you can or cannot do (in terms of sexual relations with someone else) while separated varies per state.

Those are her kids. She is supposed to have control when things are not properly handled by an incompetent other parent. You use "control" in the pejorative when Kate is using it admirably.

Kate is the original Karen. She treated Jon like garbage in front of the camera. I can’t imagine her off camera version.

That lady reminds me of my mom, she was always breaking custody and she was very hard headed about things. She was and still is very controlling about everything. At some point you got to let go. When she has custody she can do whatever she wants with them but when its his turn she needs to back off and let him raise them as she sees fit. If she wants to change things they need to arrange a meeting and discuss things but going over to his house and causing drama was the wrong way to go. Its one thing if the dad is abusing the kids or something but that was not happening. So what if he had an affair with this lady, its not like it had anything to do with the kids. If she has proof that this babysitter is harming her kids she does have the right to take it to court.
