@@R0ZEN7 I’m sorry you feel that way. But as a single player gamer who plays the majority Of notable games on all the consoles I really have no complaints, micro transactions are nonexistent aside from Ubisoft games. And outside of cyberpunk I can’t think of one game that came out unfinished in the past few years. This year alone with games like it takes two, ratchet and clank, deathloop, psychonauts 2, returnal, guardians of the galaxy, fist, kena, resident evil village, chorus, hitman 3, lost judgment, shin megami tensei V, solar ash and halo infinite. Hell even that Hot Wheels Unleashed Game was awesome! I could go on but I think you see my point. Oh, and no micro transactions and they’re finished. Again, not including multiplayer modes.

I know this isn't quite the right game, but when I was 10 years old, I was in the car with my family at a packed highway intersection. As we waited at the lights, completely by chance some friends of ours pull up in the lane next to us, and we have like a 5 minute conversation through open windows. It's father and son and they're on their way to pick up Halo 3. I didn't know what Halo was at the time, but for some reason it's one of my distinct childhood memories.

People who weren't there probably don't understand that this was a seminal moment for online gaming on consoles. You couldn't play Halo CE on Xbox Live so this was it. This was Day One for online Halo multi-player. It was also a big day for console gaming in general as almost all other online multi-player console games to that point were downright clunky compared to Halo 2. Halo 2 brought online console gaming to the mainstream.

I think the last midnight launch I went to was Fallout 4 back in 2015. The GameStop pulled out all the stops; a vault boy statue, drinks and refreshments... the energy wasn't quite "Halo 2 levels", but everyone was still pretty excited. Well, I guess I _did_ end up going to Black Ops 3's (2015) and Star Wars Battlefront II's (2018) midnight launches too, but they didn't capture the magic of Fallout 4's midnight launch. I never really got a chance to go to midnight launches when I was growing up, but I always heard stories from my friends, and my older brother's friends, regarding Halo and even Call of Duty: Black Ops. They sounded wild.

I kinda wish that a game would be announced and be received very well only to say announce they will only sell physical copy’s. It would be a fun experiment to see how the people would react, how it would effect sales, and if there would even be a line.

gaming is no longer a niche hobby. being a mainstream revenue source means it's been turned into a monetization scheme designed to squeeze cash from people. forget a game lasting years, now you're lucky if a game can be played for a couple weeks before people move on. unless your game updates constantly there's no hope. No more replay value, micro transactions, faster turn out rate for game development means games are disposal entertainment.

Carlo Carugati Well there is still some things that you console gamers can hope for, because the Next-Gen may lead to some good, because the current gen tech was outdated on release, which has lead to a bottleneck of the AAA industry. But you have too remember that after a certain amount of time you will get diminishing returns. Have you heard of mores law, basically the computer chip parts get smaller meaning they can cram more power in, but we have gotten to a point where the newest chips can't get any smaller because if we do, it would be so small that it causes electrons too jump, which will cause errors, so once we got as far as possible in the miniaturization department we have too start making each part more powerful, meaning we increase the power massively. I know very little on the subject (so take with a grain of salt), but this could lead to amazing leaps, so best is too look for the generation after the next-gen.
