I have been teaching Reconstruction in my class. All of my students (who are all Black) thought the KKK and Jim Crow were brought about by Republicans. They were shocked the Republican Party was founded by Abolitionists (Free Soil). They had a hard time believing the Democrats were the party that created Black Codes and fought passing the 14th and 15th Amendments (not to mention the 13th Amendment). They were surprised the first Black men to serve in Congress and at the local level were Republicans. They had a hard time figuring out why they are now Democrats and why our city is only run by Democrats. As they learn more about the party and it's positions on major issues, they don't understand why their people keep voting for Democrats. I encourage them to learn more and question more. I just want them to not blindly follow because their family said they're Democrats. It brings me joy to see them thinking because a thinking person is not so easily led and manipulated.

Be honest to your students, instruct and educate them that once the Democrats made civil rights for Black Americans planks of their Party, the 'democrats' who bolted from the Party because they didn't believe Black people should be entitled to rights were welcomed warmly into the embrace of the Republican Party!! I will make this short. I was a product of the Barrio, no one was "Educated", but everyone was "Learned". There were people from many countries of different ethnic back grounds, and cultures but we were all "one" family. No college grads, no high school grads. Over two dozen languages spoken, few spoke any English. When my two sisters and I were in Middle School, we were able to read and write, English, Hebrew, Spanish, Japanese, Italian, French, and some German. An older lady in the Barrio would always tell us....this is your school, here, with your people, you will be "learned", later as you grow and go through life, you will be educated. Perhaps I'm wrong............just saying.................

Schools silence those that question unless the answer to the question fits the agenda are agreeing with the view they want. I remember that one student that tried to explain thing the looks that started with teachers of shaming and training the other students to ignore those kids. They are label losers or troublemakers or negative people that are just trying to put a dark cloud so just ignore.

I noticed that in the countryside there were more Republican signs. I asked myself why. The it came to me. I see it as (and I realize this is a generalization): the reason cities are more "liberal" is that people are running around and seeing people down and out/homeless/messed up and the city people cry out, "Someone has to do something about this; do something for that unfortunate being....how about the government?" In the country, people tend to have their own home/farm/ranch. They are working hard to just get thru the day to plant and take care of their livestock, etc. and to feed their families. If someone was down and out and came by to ask for a handout, the country person, if they didn't say go away, I'm busy, they'd say, "sure if you help me to work hard and get my chores done, I'd be happy to feed you and house you." Those are conservatives.

I was born under Jim Crow laws in the South. No one has to tell me anything about the democrats or the democrat party. I think I was just born to be a free thinker but when I was young I went along with what was being shown to me by family. I always questioned it but nobody could ever tell me anything other than “well democrats are for the people, and republicans are for the rich”. Now my young self is looking at that thinking well if you want to be rich should you not pattern after the one being rich? Nothing made since but I didn’t obsess with it for years. Then one day I was talking to a white co-worker and we got into a conversation about politics, and he said to me “keep talking, I can tell you are and have been raised with conservative values, and one day you will leave the democrat party.” If I knew where he was today I would reach out and thank him because once I started reading and listening to conservatives who were Christians or trying to at least live honestly and putting the principles in my life they recommended, which are also in the Bible, my whole outlook on life and people were more confirmed to my real thinking. I have never looked back and with the exception of looking at the small clips KZreadrs use, I don’t entertain anything of the left. The Bible warns you of listening to, or watching evil. I know right from wrong so I don’t need to hear someone try and justify wrong. That is nothing more, then a person trying to convince and manipulate you into their ways of thinking to gain the acceptance and normalizing of what is wrong.

I kind of agree with this to a point. We kinda' got to the mess we are in NOW, starting in the 50's-60's, with people freeing their mind. Don't get me wrong--God used this as a vehicle for positive social change, But they shouldn't have left out Biblical teaching. I think a kid should be taught absolute good and bad principles, and THEN be taught how to think with God as moral truth. What has happened is we have gone WAY overboard and beyond to past the objective of equality to this crazy chaos where ALL behaviors/ideals are accepted as ok, because we don't want to bum anyone out. So--i agree that people should be taught how to think; but with the added moral truth of right and wrong taught FIRST.

I say that as someone who was a registered Democrat until I was in my early 30s and then I started listening to what politicians really sad versus what they did. Oh I love CJ. He’s from Augusta GA. Been following him for a couple of years. I remember when he got his drivers license. He was so stoked. He’s attending the university of Alabama right now. He’s hung out with Candace Owens, Vernon Jones, and many others. He was at the black summit at the White House held by President Trump. He’s a kid with his head screwed on straight.

If they see this they gonna automatically say the parties switch and won’t tell you how.

I know. I started dropping facts on that and was told the parties switched beliefs. No, they didn't. They just devised reverse racism which is still racism. In the end, they have everyone in debt bondage and conquered by division. It's amazing how effective their campaign has been. It doesn't help having so much controlled opposition entrenched into the Republican party.

@@TheDennisgrass yes I've looked into the subject extensively, the problem is that other people don't take the time to actually research what other people say they just assume that they're telling the truth like the media politicians academia people literally just assume that they're not allowed to lie and just believe whatever they say. I've actually had conversations with family members outside of my immediate family that have literally used the phrase "it's the news, they're not allowed to lie, it's against the rules!"

When anyone tells you they know what is better for you than what you know or feel, then that is a red flag and invites people to make decisions for you. Van, I love watching your videos because I see your personal evolution as a mirror to my own. I am a middle aged, white man who grew up believing that being liberal, Democrat, progressive (and humanitarian) as the only way to correctly be. Five years ago, I started my mid- life crisis and questioned everything I believed. I now consider myself politically a libertarian (but still a humanitarian). It is reinforcing to see another man, with a different life experience and skin color go through the same transformation. I truly appreciate you using your platform to educate EVERYBODY on the lies and deception of people have been fed for decades. Keep up the mission to educate more Americans to help us keep this great country!

They're telling you: As a "person of color" , there are certain views and opinions of which you must adhere. They openly tell you that your skin color should dictate your beliefs, regardless of any other thing that may hold of value. It's truly sad they don't see their own contradiction.

I went back and watched some of your vids from 2020. If ever you want to show someone the growth of an individual. Then they only need to watch your channel and see how just music reactions developed into the chapter you are know on in your journey. We never know 100% where we will end up and there are surprises along the way. You are almost a totally different person than the one watching Jelly Roll.. Growth as long as it is in a positive direction is a wonderful thing for a person to be able to do. Many cannot do it others do not want to do it. Life id really short the older you get. Seems like a year is a month I will be 62 in a couple of months. Most said I would never see 30 thank God for putting what I needed in my life and me being able to see what it was I needed to do.
