Whenever I hear something about racism, as it is taught today, I think about former black students on my caseload. It makes my blood boil to think that they are being hurt by the crap coming out of schools today. The message they are getting is why make my brain work trying to learn? Because thinking is hard and it won't do me any good because I live in a "racist country". If they don't learn then they will never get out of inner city Detroit where gun fire is a nightly occurrence. It makes my blood boil to think of the white kids on my caseload who are considered to be racist, even the ones who have black family members who they love deeply. As a country goes, here we go again.

I’m white, grew up in a very diverse little town; my best friend since 6th grade (about 45 years ago) is black. She is my kids’ godmother, we are both part of each other’s families. It hurts my heart to see people who are trying to divide us racially. My family is from the South, as is hers, so slavery is a subject both of our families know well. We love each other like sisters, we are closer than sisters, but this is one area we don’t go. I wish she would see this and listen to Thomas Sowell...we are both college educated, successful, but when slavery is brought up we can’t discuss it. (My family came from Ireland as bonded servants, literally slaves themselves)

The truth about slavery should be taught in every class room in America.

Hispanic male here - started in urban New Jersey (Jersey City) -- none of this was taught. When we moved to rural Pennsylvania (right across the river, "the Poconos") one of my favorite subjects was Civics / History / Social Studies (yeah, hardly taught nowadays) and our teacher would answer any question to the best of their ability. This was brought up -- and I will never forget the feeling I felt the first time (after finding out the true history) there was someone sitting there and trying to explain things away from a point of being woefully undertaught in the subject. Knowing damn well that people will not take a few minutes of their time to learn up on things that ACTUALLY happened and would rather just live in a lie. Keep on fighting the fight Van - I can FEEL your disappointment at finding out the truth after living a whole dang life at this point. Just imagine the amount of fight left to get the word out there.

I'm glad my parents raised me the way they did even if it was just for a brief moment. I wasOn my own at 15 , my family was dis functional. Never the less. Race was not something ever brought up. My besties were Tongan and Philippino I rolled with every color under the sun. My group of friends was from every background. I am attending a Christian college, and much of this was taught about slavery and the minimum wage laws. None of this was taught in my high school, either. I love that you are addressing this. I love people and I love learning about people and communities. It angers me that any people were ever enslaved. I love that Larry Elder tells it like it is. I hate how the "powers that be" hide history from us at every turn. They do everything they can to stay at the top of the heap with their foot on the necks of whomever they deem a threat. It reminds me of when the Israelites' population reached a point where there were more and thought to be mightier than the Egyptians, so the king ordered the Israelites enslaved so they wouldn't eventually revolt against them. Then the King ordered the death of every newborn boy. All of this was done out of fear (Exodus 1). If they would stop putting their foot on our necks, stop being narcissistic power mongers, and support their people, a vast percentage of the world would get along, and all would be good. I genuinely believe that. Their divisiveness will be held accountable by God. I pray they turn to God and repent. It's only through Christ that we can love one another.

Thank you for bringing so many lies to the light. You're fun to watch and educational. Appreciate you and what you do. I'm a Mexican American and the white side of me came from Finland and Norway. When my white ancestors traveled to America, they settled in Alaska. My great, great grandparents on my grandma's side were poor Finish farmers. As far as I know, my family history is not connected to slavery at all. Yet, I have fair skin and I have the "white" culture therefore I'm now branded as a white supremacist. I'm just a simple, single, "white" mom that was raised in Alaska. I didn't learn the term "black" or "white" until I moved to Oklahoma when I was 23. I wish I could erase those words out of my vocabulary and I'm trying to teach my son to never describe a person by their assumed race or culture. It's "Mr and Mrs". Period. Love what you're doing.

When I was young I learned about slavery in the states with stories like “Harriette Tubman”. When I was older I learned about the Barbary Pirates from the Barbary Coast….it was years later still before I learned that the Barbary Pirates ( who took slaves from England, Ireland, Scotland etc. ) where actually Black Muslims from North Africa. They are the reason England began to build ships and became the power house and were able to say that “The Sun Never Sets On The British Empire”.

Absolutely correct, the Queen of England back in the 14th century was called the Queen's Reich, the British Court advertised slaves as cheap labor and that is why clipper ships started coming to America manned by slavery. As a young white teen -the early seventies in the deep south when they integrated the schools I remember the news expecting trouble and fights at the school. It was tense the first week then everyone seemed to get along just fine. My Dad was military and we lived on base housing which was very diverse always, we were raised proper to not judge by color/race and we all played baseball and rode bikes etc together with black kids, asians and hispanics . We enjoyed learning about each others culture and laughed at each other. We had neighborhood picnics with every color. My Dad was the squad commander at work and his best friend was black and so our family's would go to the lake together and we danced and had a great time. I think it just depends on the environment and attitude you are raised in on how you view color. In the late seventies we all went to concerts together and never had any troubles. I hate the way things are now, I think the influencers purposely cause division and I hate it!!

I was born in 79 and in grade school and Junior high I had black friends my mom was friends with the black friend's parents I mean it was so different when I was younger I didn't see color we weren't seeing racism everywhere and hearing about it all the time. I'm so tired of people being mad and carrying anger when I just want everyone to enjoy each moment they have now. Not waste time now on things none of us today have any control over. I'm learning a lot here too.

I am a Dominican that lived in Mexico for most of my life. I moved back to the USA 6 years ago and was completely confused about racism. I didn’t know it was a thing. I pointed out most of the things in this video and was labeled as racist. I tried to point out that I was just trying to understand why people act like slavery just happened here, all countries suffered from it and we have all understood that it is in the past and left it there. I even told my friend from what you all have told me about history you worked picking cotton mostly… that is not that bad for what everyone else went through. Needless to say I should have never said that. I am too direct and even though I was trying to say it nicely it didn’t translate like that. In 21 years I never had to differentiate people by their skin color it was all about their personal traits. For the past 6 years I feel bad because it’s all black or white. Race is everything and it makes no sense to me.

I was at the main library in downtown Chicago this week. For about an hour or so I took pictures of books about slavery. There were not only books about African slavery in the U.S., but also slavery in Russia, Central Asia, and India, etc.

Above all ,we are all sinners. Not one single race, ethnicity, genre, or culture was without their hand in dealing in slavery. It started from a need of being in "CONTROL" , and sadly for You and I, is so very much still in effect on many levels. But with less overt visibility. Which makes it so scary. They realize that they are losing control of segregations as we all are uniting. So they started on the youth of our nations. The fact that they have put us to a color code, instead of a likeness to our Creator, will be their undoing. Its so damn sad to have to watch it runs its course. I applaud you for speaking up and spreading the truth, no matter how it ugly sounds for anyone it does or does not pertain to.

I am a white canadian and when we grew up, we didnt see color at all. My best friend was black. Racism is learned behaviour. This was very informative. Thanks for posting it.

Another issue with the minimum wage is that every time it goes up so does everything else. This creates inflation in itself and people are right back to where they were before they raised the wage.

When I was in school, we had speakers who experienced slavery and escaped oppressive regimes. We had a couple of Holocaust survivors, and former POWs who endured Nazi slave labor. A man who escaped the Killing Fields of Cambodia. But what irritates me are people who are filled with rage and anger over slavery, something they never personally experienced and blame others for their failures.

A lot of black people don't even come from the slave trade, many can't get free people, business people, traders, and may if those actually bought and owned other black people who were slaves.

My friend, what's coming is total destruction of America and people out there aren't registering this. This is part of the plan It's well underway right now. Food processing plants by the hundreds have been destroyed, a power outage will happen Sometime between October and January, Supplies will be completely shut down, NO FUEL NO ELECTRICITY. no phones will work. We have to unite. Everybody! Stock up on ammo food, water. They will contaminate the water. The air, they predict as much as 90% of americans will die through all this. Sounds insane right! They're telling this but media won't let it be said, it goes against their liberal narrative.

Wow, the minimum wage law issue blew my mind... I am so dumbfounded!? I am a 64 year old white woman who worked in the legal field and administrative in customer service and I never ever knew this. I am a White 55 yr old female. I had seen this same video on another KZread channel already. But I wanted to listen to it again with you. I wanted to hear it from a different person's perspective on such an extremely serious topic. And I am glad that I did. You're taking it very seriously as I did. I wish more people would. But the problem is although we wish that this information became available to the masses so that it could heal a lot of open wounds in this country. The problem is that the media doesn't want that to happen. If you take away all the fighting, division, and chaos that this horrid sinful act against humanity has created then it's going to put a lot of the main stream media out of work. So those clowns want to keep this completely under wraps. I pray that it doesn't. But if the media has any opportunity to stop this from ever being made common knowledge you bet they will. But let's make sure they don't get that chance. Share it with EVERYONE you know. And maybe it will get out there eventually to everyone if we ALL do it together!

Knowledge can be very freeing Van. I would say that unless we are serious history buffs most of us won't know the real truth. It's up to us as individuals to seek the truth.

What is also not taught in schools today is that there is currently more slaves today than there was during the Atlantic Slave Trade still in Africa and Muslim countries. About 48 million the last time I looked it up. You'd think all of these people in their privileged nations that care so much about slavery would be a voice for the actual slaves and not for some unexperienced plight of the past.

Wait until people start realizing there is currently around 48 million slaves still in Africa and Muslim lands. Multiple times more people than that the age of the Atlantic Slave Trade. If they cared about slavery that would be their focus not the past.

I’m definitely sick of hearing about white and black but the conversation has to be had because people are still calling white people racist and trying to hold them accountable for things they weren’t even alive for and didn’t do. The truth has to come out and I’m glad you’re putting it out there.

Wow, I learned a lot from this episode. You are absolutely correct that this is what should be taught in schools. My father taught me a good work ethic, go to work everyday on time and do the job you are being paid to do the best you can, no excuses. This lesson helped me get ahead in life and not have to depend on others for monetary assistance, what I have today I have because of hard work and the ability to improve myself. I discovered you channel a few weeks ago and I’m glad I did, keep the information flowing!

Van, you have got to check out a fantastic book by a man named James Loewen called "Lies My Teacher Told Me." The author is an esteemed professor of history at Ole Miss university. The book is a survey of the 12 different US History textbooks in use at the time of the books publication, and a list of all the things they get wrong, whether deliberately with an agenda in mind, because of idiot textbook review boards in various states, or simply by repeating ignorance that they were told that doesn't hold up to the actual historical record. It would shock you how different the real story is from what so many of us read in our textbooks. I would send you a copy, but they haven't passed that $22 minimum wage yet. LOL
