It's such a crime that the storyline went south enough that it needed to be cancelled. J/k. The show was cancelled because the value of the dollar decreased in Canada after the Recession and MGM always plays it cheap.

My favorite part about that is in one of the alternate reality episodes, Rodney is the "dumb" person of the group and Shep is the new genius. Kinda plays on the idea that if they had both followed different paths in life they would have ended up doing some very different things.

Sheppard, O'neill etc. those kinds of guys they may not be tech savvy and they come across as dumb jarheads but they are actually still very intelligent to a genius level... just more so with leadership and tactics then being a scientist....

96% of this video is the back and forth between Sheppard and McKay, they were great!

I miss Stargate SG1 n Stargate Atlantis. Didn't care for universe. I watch recorded ones now. Didn't get enough of it.

I used to work with a guy that looked, talked, and had mannerisms just like Sheppard. Same sarcastic attitude. It was uncanny.

the fact that rodney is surprised by sheppards intellect always put a sour taste in my mouth because sheppard is a pilot, and airforce pilots are smart and have done alot of schooling to get to the position where they fly expensive military hardware at hundreds of miles per hour carrying explosive payloads. An idiot cannot fly, and sheppard is no idiot.

I feel like there's normal people smart, which is a pilot is, and then there's able to keep up with particle physics smart. Rodney McKay would think a person with a full on doctorate was an idiot if they couldn't do the latter. Does, in fact, think that some of the scientists on the expedition are dumber than rocks. Even if you are smart, even if you have multiple degrees, Rodney McKay will think you're an idiot if you can't keep up with him, and, quite frankly, calling himself the smartest man in two galaxies isn't entirely unwarranted. He thinks everyone is an idiot until proven otherwise.

Is it just me or don't anyone else see the humor in that scene in the episode where Sheppard and McKay found what they believed was a game but instead they interfered with two countries on another planet, and Dr Weird are trying to take some sense into the boys, and Sheppard is commenting on McKay actually changed the name of "his" country? We all know that these guys always are picking on each other and gladly would take a chance to figuratively cut the balls of the other one. In this scene Sheppard does a Freudian slip calling McKay's country Geldar "gelding", couldn't be a much better way to neuter McKay! Not literally, of course.

Stargate did not predict it. Star Trek TNG did back in the late 80s/early 90s. They walked around with PADDs which were basically tablets/iPads.

From the original to the end of the of the tv show a great show.

I love the fact that when you first meet Shepherd, he comes up as this hotshot flyboy, 1 dimensional character, but he's got a lot more layers, which may seeing him on screen fun. Yeah, mckay likes to call him the Kirk character, but the thing is, Kirk had a lot more layers as a character as well, so not necessarily a bad comparison.

9:47-9:50 When Sheppard (unwittingly) initialized the communication stone that Dr. Keller later touched, resulting in the switch between her and Neeva Casol in 5.18 Identity. Maybe? =P I think so. ;)

@851995STARGATE Okie dokie. =) So I rewatched this episode (First Contact) and Identity, and sad to say, I did not see what I hoped to see - i.e., the box containing the stones that Dr. Keller opened when she was in Janus's lab. In fact, the thing Sheppard picked up in this clip was just lying on the table itself. The box was nowhere to be seen. However, I think it's still possible that someone else (a technician, for example) placed it in the box afterwards. =P Maybe in preparation for their storage? And about the color... I rewatched the clip above a few more times and it does seem like the thing is clear blue. But it might very well not be. =P It's just the lighting. ;) A very bright light comes from below and it makes the thing look like it's clear because of the reflection of the light, but I don't think it's actually clear. It is blue, no doubt about that. So one might think that it's different from the 2 (Atlantis) communication stones in Identity because they looked gray to black as they were lying in the box. However, it could just be the lighting once again. The stones Neeva found in the village looked black when they were in their box (and as she placed it on the device later), but as she picked one up and looked closely at it, it looked dark blue as some (not very bright) light reflected on it. Plus!... The way this scene was shot... why would they focus on Sheppard as he picks up and looks at some random thing (while Rodney says his line) if it means nothing? =P Well, to be fair, it could very well mean nothing, but it could also mean something. ;) (At the very least, they were planning for something that will come out later in the story... 8 episodes later, as it proves. =P ) And the way that scene was shot in Identity... when they were all wondering how Dr. Keller can activate the stones and Rodney said his line "or maybe a tech initialized it after we discovered the lab", the camera focused on Sheppard once again. =P

6:18 You just missed one of the rare 4th-wall breaks in the Stargate Universe where Tayla and Ronin share a knowing glance as Sheppard describes impossibly good-looking actors back on Earth.

Season 1 Episode 2, from which there are a clip or two in this video, is a favorite episode of mine. I don't know why, I just always liked the episode. There are many that I like though. I miss the series, and I miss SG1 too. I'd certainly love to see a new Stargate movie and a new series also.

Yes, Time travel is possible. You can sleep jump, to a point in the future, when you are of no mind and witness events.. You can go for a few minutes at a time. However, past events cannot be changed and future events can be slightly altered .. with side-effects.
