I honestly think, with no exaggeration or hyperbole, that Martin Short might be the greatest and funniest improviser of all time. Watch any of his interviews and his comedic timing is just natural talent that can’t be taught. And Jiminy Glick is his greatest achievement.

I just can't get over how fast Short is on the draw with these quips and comebacks. He's got veteran comedians tossing jokes his way, and he just swats 'em out of the park every time. If you get Mel Brooks laughing so hard that he asks you to give him time to catch his wind, man, you got jokes.

He came out on to a talk show once and the first thing he did was shout at the audience 'stop loving me!' and I lost it. That was my introduction to this genius.

He's so witty so fast. Truly impressive stuff with those guests.

One highlight. Mel Brooks: My mother used to cash in milk bottles so I could go to the movies... Glick: Now THATS good old fashioned poverty...

Martin Short really shines when he is doing this character. To be able to get THE best of the best comedians to truly laugh doing these interviews is amazing. His quick wit/improv is legendary!

It's interesting how people's perceptions change as they grow and learn and gain new experiences. I remember when I was younger, I was very rigid and didn't like strange, out of the ordinary things. And I couldn't STAND Jiminy Glick. I thought it was the stupidest, unfunniest, most idiotic thing ever. I just now watched this clip and was crying from laughing so hard. I'm sure it LOOKS easy but damn it has to be WAY WAY harder then it looks, he truly is a man of talent.

I just love this character. He's so unpredictable & uninhibited. Which is what you want on a first date, but not after that.

Hands down, the absolute funniest person in the world! I am honored to also be from Canada as he is. I've heard that he is also a really nice person who treats strangers warmly and is not stuffy at all like other celebs. Would love to meet him one day.

This is probably my 10th time or so watching these clips and I’m just realizing how brilliant these jokes are and how brilliant this character is. Truly one of the perfect storms of comedy. He allows the interviewee to be funny while he riffs with them perfectly. He makes it fun and challenging at the same time so they’re up for it. Like when Larry David says “you don’t like the wall?” That has to be the most tailor-made setup in comedy history. Just perfect. Martin is incredibly smart and funny.

Kathy Lee Gifford is the only one who truly took the show over making one joke after the other without ever making fun of Jiminy.

Younger Seinfeld was on constant offensive to try and stay ahead which kind of worked but didn't allow for the full comedy to brew. Older Seinfeld was more mellow and it was funnier.

Martin Short has always made me laugh. Not a lot of people like his movie Clifford, but his character makes me crack up. Jiminy has a special place in my heart too. There are a few things he's said as Jiminy that I say to this day.

Pine Tree hilarious

I love that out of all the people who could've surprised him enough to break character, it was Tom Hanks. That Mel Brooks interview is the funniest thing I've ever seen.

My belly and my cheeks hurt. Laughed for 18 minutes straight. Thank you!

When you can get laughs like that... From legends like Steve Martin, Ricky Gervais, and Mel Brooks... that pretty much says it all.

when he got ben stiller to crack was the best for me...because ben stiller's dad never once cracked on seinfeld, and he probably instilled that kind of resolve into his son too

Hands down Martin Short is one the most consistently funny men to ever grace this world. And Glick is by far his most entertaining persona, can watch him over and over.

Watching his roasting conan compilations are hilarious

Knowing that the editor never shows Martin breaking is awesome. Hearing Martin break is awesome.

And after all, how much is a Canadian treasure worth? And when you take of 24% for the exchange rate, it's not worth much in the U.S. BTW, I'm American of 50% French Canadian descent. Je me souviens! What do I remember? I don't know, I forgot!

Jiminy Glick was a genius character creation from Martin Short. Loved this on Comedy Central.

Martin Short's ability to reduce the quickest wits in the business to hysterics is amazing.

Making some of the most brilliant comic minds just shatter into unrestrained laughter is a testament to real genius and a wickedly quick wit.

That Ricky Gervais bit “....That’s a wonderful, little story you told” makes me chuckle every time! Only recently found these Jiminy Glick interviews and have come to love Martin Short even more because of them!

Martin Short always one of my favorites. Began watching him in the very early 80s. He was hilarious on SCTV, he was hilarious on SNL. He was hilarious in the movies. He's hilarious now. The man is genius. One of the greats.

It sounds like Short actually breaks after Gervais' reaction to the "touch something" line. What a great moment.
