The UNTOLD TRUTH Of Lawrence Stroll & Aston Martin | Aston Martin F1, Lawrence Stroll, Lance Stroll
Aston Martin. One of the most controversial teams in F1 as of now. They seem to have the most astonishing drop in performance if you compare them prior to 2020 and in the last two seasons. From being not just a solid midfield team but racking up podiums and finishing in P4 in Constructors, to just dead-last with Williams and constantly out of Q1 every Saturday. Nobody could have predicted this enormous drop in their performance, and there are multiple factors that are involved in this. One very important factor is the leadership of the team. Lawrence Stroll always seems to be in the center of attention when it comes to Aston Martin and bad news. But how did Lawrence Stroll manage to “kill” the team that was beating McLaren and Ferrari in direct battles? Moreover, why did the team’s ex-director, Otmar Szafnauer, leave the team right before the 2022 season started? These and other stories regarding the destruction of Aston Martin by Lawrence Stroll will be revealed in this video, so stick around to hear the untold story.
In today's video we look at The UNTOLD TRUTH Of Lawrence Stroll Destroying Aston Martin. Keep watching to see the latest F1 News, F1 Highlights.

    Not quite accurate regarding the brake ducts. It's a bit complex, but I'll try a brief summary: RP had actually purchased the 2019 spec brake duct CAD models from Mercedes prior to the rule change making them listed parts in 2020. They used those models to design and build front brake ducts that were used on the both 2019 and 2020 cars, but they didn't run anything in 2019 based off the rear models from Mercedes, so the front ducts were legal, but not the rear. Hope this helps explain!

    What’s sad is that Lawrence stroll has not learned business 101. If you want to succeed in business but don’t have the knowledge, you hire the best at each position and get out of their way! @@gpcentral I don't think Lance is doing that terribly though. I have always believed people undervalued Hulkenberg and Vettel has won multiple world championships. He aint no nro 1 driver, but you don't really want two number 1 drivers in your team. That is what worked at mercedes in the past as Bottas was almost always naturally slightly slower than Hamilton. It will be interesting what happens when mercedes is on the top again.

  • @tjroelsma

    @tjroelsma

    Жыл бұрын

    @@oappi4686 I agree that Lance isn't terrible, but I would make the argument that he isn't as good as he thinks he is. If you pay attention to him during free practice's, qualifying and races, it's obvious that there's a lot of frustration in Lance. Let me explain: - In my opinion it looks like he deems free practice sessions beneath him, as he can't be bothered to concentrate and therefore often loses the car and even crashes. - In qualifying he never manages to get that "perfect" lap in and always finds an excuse for why he couldn't deliver. (wind, rain, tyres, track, car, other drivers, strategy) - Even when it's obvious he made a mistake, he always refuses to accept the blame and looks for excuses. (see above) Lance Stroll had quite a career before F1 and he did pretty well in other categories. Then he made the step to F1 and it all started to unravel. First he blamed the poor performing Williams for everything, but ignored that his team mate often outperformed him with that same Williams. Then daddy bought a better team and Lance didn't show much improvement. Sure, there were glimpses of what he could do when everything came his way, but more often he was again outperformed by his team mate and/or made mistakes. In my opinion Lance Stroll is a talented driver, he's just not F1 material. It would be much better for him to leave F1 and find a racing category that suits him better so he can start to be competitive again and find the joy in racing again, because he surely seems to lack enjoying racing right now.

    Stroll's autocratic leadership style is to blame for the team's relatively poor performance. The team was punching well above its weight prior to Stroll's involvement. Although Stroll invested in the team and recruited a number of high-profile staff, it failed to materialise any performance. The Aston Martin board must consider replacing him with a credible team principal if were to achieve consistent results that the Aston Martin brand deserves.

    Stroll Snr is clearly not understanding the basics of a racing team. When he was around the Williams paddock you could see he didn't get why the team was struggling, and no-one looked happy to have him there. Fast forward to Aston Martin and it's the same story, he doesn't seem to understand you have to take a step back and let the engineers and experienced people do their thing, and again, no-one seems happy for him to be there and feel like they're in a position where they cant speak out on the true problems of the team for fear of their jobs. If the team and their personnel are to survive and prosper again, he needs to either sell it on to someone better or cut his management and ego out the picture entirely and just trust the people who know what they're doing

So there is no way King Stroll is going to allow his team to be directed by a salaried peon. Even if that "Peon" has been incredibly successful in F1 and is exactly what Low-Rent Stroll needs. This is going to be a true test of Papa Strolls character & business prowess. If he is humble enough to realize that he needs F1 people to do F1 things and to give them the freedom to do just that. Than I think he can be very successful. But if he continues down the "Nobody is going to tell me what to do !" road. It's gonna be a LONG & very Short one at the same time.

Many things can go wrong - just ask Ferrari who have the one of the best car and driver combinations. Some of the best drivers ever were pay drivers. Lauda, Webber, Alonso, Fangio, Shumacher.... being a pay driver is very common so not sure what your point is?

    Well yes being a pay driver is important, but they eventually had skills don’t you think?

    @@gpcentral for sure they did , and certainly in a class that Lance isn’t in but to remind people that having someone pay to get you one of those select few seats doesn’t mean you don’t have the skills

    Great analysis! I've said it milion times, no progress when the knucklehead leading the team has no vision! Plus, he may want to get rid of his son and put another driver in that seat if the improvements from 2023 are bound to happen.

    Lance is useless, get rid of him and put a real driver in the seat, and now that vettel is leaving there is room for another driver too.

    Sadly when someone has this much money they assume that they can improve everything. Realistically though what needs to happen is that he needs to use his professionals to do their thing and not make decisions about things that he doesn't understand. His model is more stick than Carrott......not good for morale...
