The only problem I have with Buc-ee's is that if you're on a road trip and just want to make a quick stop, hit the bathroom, grab some drinks and fill up it takes way too long. Just dealing with the traffic and crowds eats up time that you don't lose at smaller places. On the other hand, we live near one and sometimes I just stop by to get a sandwich and shop a little if I'm not trying to get anywhere. They always have some interesting snacks and food.

Buc-ees was a weird coincidence I stumbled upon at 2 a.m. on a long drive to Florida. While my mom was driving, I used gas buddies to locate the cheapest gas and it was 10-20 cents cheaper than everything around it. Because of previous adventures, we joked that it was probably some backwater mom and pop shop that only did cash. We kept our hopes low and approached cautiously. Did not expect to see a massive storefront surrounded by hundreds of pumps. Even at those dead hours, they had a relatively good flow of customers. It was amazing.

Stories that I’ve heard from people that have worked there it actually isn’t as great as many think, starting with the fact that employees get only one 5 minute break during a shift or as they call it a “5 minute lunch” in which they can’t even sit or use their phone while on fucking break! On break! And not just that when employees clock out they have to wait until they leave the premises completely to use their phones and they prohibit tattoos and colored hair which surprises me considering that fact that they are a gas station convenience store and based on the type merchandise they sell and demographic they appeal to it surprises me they have these kind of rules and policies for employees which i think is outdated and stupid and from what I’ve heard they overall treat employees like shit, i even heard a story about them firing an employee for smoking in his car ON HIS DAY OFF! HIS DAY OFF!!!! You don’t even need to be on the clock or on shift to get fired for doing non work related things on your DAY OFF!!! If you drive to the premises and they use the $15/$17 or $18 the hour pay as an excuse to treat people in such way, funny how they pull the $15 excuse like they are the only place that pays that salary when there are a thousand other places that pay the same who have the same benefits idk why they think they are special or think they can fool people and worst of all they get away with breaking so many employment laws so i would do research and maybe look for videos made by former employees sharing their experiences and think it through before making a decision that could possibly leave one with Job PTSD. And I forgot to mention no break rooms either. They are a prison

I thought it was another home improvement store due to the beaver mascot and how beavers build dams, lol. I'm going back next week to visit it next time and try out their foods. I'm super excited!

Luckily I live just a few miles from the Ft Worth location. Buc-ee's to me is synonymous with well earned good times. None are located between work and me, but they are a mandatory stop when I take my annual beach holiday and go to the eastern Florida Renaissance fairs and the one in Georgia. I'm dreaming about my late Summer Daytona trip right now just thinking about that Beast taco, black cherry soda, and all the snacks I can choose from. They really oughtta build on on I75 in Florida, probably around Ocala, so I can stop on my way to the fairs in Sarasota. Jealous Texans can pound sand. As long as Mr. Buc-ee can employ people without compromising quality, build a Buc-ee's or three in every state!

Leaving trash and pee bottles in the parking lots, damaging the parking lot, and leaving the restrooms a mess. Of course not all drivers are like that, but way too many are. Two things. That longest car wash is the longest damage to your cars paint, especially if group of mudders went through ahead. Also any gas station convenience store has idiots leaving their cars at the pumps usually during the busiest times of the day. Not hating it, but that's what happens. The prices and quality of food items is pretty decent for just a 'gas station store'. Also unlike snack brands that give you a bag half full of product, Buc-ees fills them to the top.

As a highly qualified pastry chef I applied for bakery job. I received a call (phone interview) from them the interviewer loved me and was looking forward to bringing me into the team as a manager of bakery counter until....... The question of do I have any visible tattoos ( I have two the size of nickels one on each hand ) she instantly changed tune and said I can no longer join team due to the tattoos (even if I cover) for which the interviewer said "the owners doesn't want employees with tattoos that if even one person seen the tattoo on accident you will be terminated on the spot.".

I would love to see Bucky‘s create some truck stops but honestly you would have to hold drivers accountable with camera systems because you know the mess that some of them make and what you do as you hold the company that the driver works for hold responsible and don’t allow those companies there anymore I guess would be a way to approach it. Me as a handicap truck driver I’m not gonna park on the road and hop on my wheelchair and go across the parking lot trying to dodge cars and campers and not get run over. GA and Petros have three or four handicap truck parking spots each there are maybe four loves that have a couple spots but honestly loveS downfall is they let people park anywhere they want and people get blocked in all over the place flying Jay’s have gone straight downhill the last 15 years ever since pilot bought them all their facilities have deteriorated no upkeep no updates no nothing and now they finally want to start.

Buc-ees figures that 18 wheelers have TA, Loves, Flying J s, so they will concentrate on all the 4 wheelers, RVs, pickups and everything in between on the roadways.

Buc-ees in New Braunfels is between San Antonio and Austin on I-35. If you're driving between San Antonio and Houston you go to the Buc-ees on I-10 in Luling. Truck stops are for truckers.

All of the food choices and not even a bench outside to sit and eat it. I realize it is considered a convenience store but it would be nice to have a seating area.

I suggested an outdoor picnic area near the outer dog walking area, and somebody in a Buc-ee's facebook group got angry with me. She said people would trash it. I'm content with eating in or on my car, but seating accommodation is not too much to ask for.

Kudos to Buc-ee's. Look forward to giving one a visit. I work in transportation and know first hand what a congested nightmare truck stops can be. Good idea to give the cars somewhere to go to ease this.

I disagree with their policy. I see if truck drivers leave trash all over the place and pee bottles.

Let’s hear from employees. They probably can’t say anything or they will get fired. How about former employees? I hear that the pay is good but they are treated like crap. They have to sign contracts that seem unreasonable. Some of them are not allowed to sit down during breaks and have to be on standby in case they are needed during their break.Their shifts are long and you have to buy your own branded clothing from them.

I was a truck driver and I stopped at the location back in 2004 in Luling, Tx. on I-10 just east of San Antonio. They had a couple of spots where you can fit an 18 wheeler on their property that was unpaved near their trash dumpsters. I was sleeping and then there was a knock on the door. I got up only to see a Deputy standing outside. I rolled down my window and asked me if anyone had asked me to leave the property. I told him no and that I had parked there at 03:00 AM. and it was now 08:30 AM. He wanted to see my drivers license and told me that I needed to leave or that I would be charged with trespassing. Well I left and have never been back to any Buc-ee's since. I live in El Paso and even if I am in my private vehicle I won't give them my business. I wonder if a truck delivers their products so they can stay in business? Wellllllll Yessssssssss! Maybe we should boycott them and never deliver any loads to them.

Sounds like that deputy was a real asshole. You shoulda told him to pound sand. He can't solicit a trespass from the property owner and it's obvious nobody from Bucees called him or he wouldn't have asked. Still though, if the place is open when you get there you should ASK them about overnight parking. Especially a semi.
