I agree. If you look at the timeline, and read Mayte’s book, he hesitantly ask Mayte to marry him after his ex Vanity married. Seemed impulsive hesitant reckless decision on Prince’s behalf. But definitely not love, in my opinion

I read Mayte's book and she said she wasn't with the baby when he passed. She said they had agreed to take him off life support on another day. She went home and slept (fully expecting to go back to the hospital to be with her son when they take him off life support) and when she woke up a few hours later, prince told her that they took him off life support and he died while she was asleep. She said she never forgave him for that. I wouldn't have either

I’m reading her book again and comparing it to everything that’s she’s been saying and in her book she writes a lot about her parents. It’s weird how people are ignoring everything her parents did to her. Her parents refused to believe her about her parents friend sexually abusing her. Her parents pressured her to work for prince. Her mother was wet for prince and liked the idea of seeing him naked, that’s why she wrote about that in her book. It’s the reason why they agreed to see prince instead of celia cruz!!How her mother was all about seeing him live because the tour was called nude and she thought prince was going to be nude. That’s in her book. Also you cannot burn ashes cuz it’s ashes. In her book she says that prince burned their child’s ashes. That’s imposible. People been hating on Mayte and I’m finally realizing why. It’s disgusting to do prince like that. Also it’s understandable cuz she was young but now she’s a fully grown ass matured woman. I say that because in her book she writes how once she found out Manuela divorced prince, mayte was chasing after prince thinking she had another chance with him. That’s in her book! It’s also in her book how she was butthurt about how prince didn’t stay in communication with her when she saw him and he gave her tickets to his concert because she was expecting him to get back together and hanging out after his concert. She writes about that in her book and any matured woman who’s claims that their husband did her wrong, wouldn’t be chasing after that same man!! Yes it’s in her book. She talks about that. Also Manuela says she’s had a miscarriage before but never says from who. If she wanted to, she can also write a book about having a miscarriage cuz she said that around the time she was married to prince. Also she could write how badly prince treated her if when she had that miscarriage as well! Also people hate on prince cuz of Manuela but what’s wrong with protecting what’s his$$$ he died owing her money. She didn’t need his money/help cuz she was now married to Eric. Do you see the simulators? Both were after his money. Except it was more of Maytes parents that were after princes $$$$ cuz Mayte didn’t ask him for spouse support and that’s in her book. It’s also in her book how she regrets not getting that spouse support cuz it could’ve really helped her with starting over. Also Maytes parents were such a bad influence. She talks about that in her book. She thought that putting up with prince would save the marriage because that’s what she grew up seeing her mother do with her father. All that is in her book. Her parents impacted her life. All that causes trauma. She already had lots of trauma before she met prince. Whatever she went through with prince added more to her trauma, but now we will never know the full truth cuz he ain’t alive to say his side of the story. Both stories will come to meet somewhere in the middle, but that can’t happen cuz he’s dead.

"Publicly" is debatable here seeing as how you don't have to be a celebrity to be a predator, and celebrity predators are an open secret in Hollywood. Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, Ted Nugent, even David Bowie all had sexual relationships with underage girls that people overlooked because they liked the music and "Oh but they're rock stars! They can do anything they want!" Hell we still have a problem with people not wanting to admit Michael Jackson was a predator, or Kobe Bryant, and many *still* believe R. Kelly is "innocent" too (and that's not including the lengths people will go to, to continue protecting Roman Polanski, Woody Allen, or even Jerry Lee Lewis). The reality is no one, especially adults, care about children. They are more than willing to risk the safety and well-being of children, as long as *their* (adults) comfort remains in tact! People just can't give up their music or guns or reverential worship of either in order to ensure children are safe because "that's just not fair" to the adults. Society is perfectly fine sacrificing children to the altar of firearms and celebrity worship, period.

They also all were not documented or proven 2 be guilty. IN MY OPINION, Michael Jackson was innocent, none of the cases stood up in court & the 1 payoff committed suicide. J. Lewis married & stayed w/his 1 documented relationship (far as I know). R. Kelly was found innocent but had almost 50 documented payoffs & should have been arrested after he illegally married Aaliyah. Polanski got convicted and pardoned but knows he's guilty that's why he won't bring his ass back 2 the US cos he's probably still indulging in the same pedo crimes wherever he is. Didn't mean 2 write a book but these cases are all diff 2 me but what they do have in common is they weren't dealt w\in a timely manner as they should have been. If the parent doesn't protect the child our gov is supposed 2 step in & do the job!!!

The entire story is sad from every angle. She was NEVER allowed to call him, only he could call her for the first few years they knew each other? HUGE red flag, but she was extremely young and likely just discounted it. I read in many other places she never called him Prince while they were married. If that were simply his stage name, I could understand but as Prince was his birth name, that's bizarre!!

I read The Most Beautiful when it came out. It’s heart wrenching what Mayte went through. As a life long Prince fan, it made me sad to learn those things about him. Yeah, as a huge fan of him as a MUSICIAN, I can’t really overlook things like this. I’m just now re reading her book and I think her parents are much grosser than prince. Re read her book carefully. She talks a lot about her parents. Her parents did her dirty. I personally believe that sexual abuse towards a child and not trusting what you child is saying and choosing to trust you friend over your child is just wrong. Mayte's mom sent Prince an audition tape, she was already a professional dancer performing belly dance in Egypt. Mayte was hired by Prince as a dancer with NPG after she got out of school at 17. It was a great opportunity for her really, she happily accepted the position. Mayte could have quit and moved back with her parents at any time. Mayte said that they didn't start a relationship until she was 19, married at 22. Let's face it she was having the time of her life until their baby died. Three years later they divorced.

The parents presented her to him. Back then it wasn’t unusual for 16 year olds to date grown men. They were usually no older than 21. This was a time when children could go to bars with their parents and drink with permission.

Theses are mayte lies her stories been inconsistent since Prince passed, he wasn't her legal guardian she was 18 going on 19 when she started working for Prince, graduate from high school and had her own place in Minnesota, Prince was suing her a month before he passed for auctioning his clothing without his permission and trying to publish her one sided book and they hadn't spoken in years

I hope children are educating themselves on grooming. Grooming can happen in your 20s as well. Or if someone is in a position of power over you. I was a victim of grooming-twice. Both times by professors at two different colleges.

I think it’s called manipulating someone young and naive. Grooming is only used when someone sexually conditions a child that shouldn’t be having sexual thoughts because they are too young. Even calling it grooming when minors are 16-17 is technically not accurate.

Wasn't the first one. One of the women who joined Vanity 6 (Susan Moonsie) he first met when SHE was 16. After she became an adult, they dated (but not for long) and he put her in Vanity 6. Think he met another girl, Anna Fantasia when she was a teen. After she turned 18, he wrote Pink Cashmere about her. Fans? Prince was extremely private. The few interviews he did revealed very little about his personal life. I am a big fan but never knew who he was dating or married to. I even watched that Oprah interview and didn’t know whether he had a child or not.

Your right, Mayte and her parents were the sucker's they tried to use him but instead they got used, they were chasing fame and money and it went horribly wrong at the end, her 4 year stint was short annulled/divorced, separated in 98 and in 2000 divorced and Prince never took or looked her way again, they hadn't spoken in years prior to him passing and he was suing her a month before he passed for auctioning his clothing without his permission definitely was no Love there

Oh man...how tragic is that description of events surrounding the birth of the baby? I got the chills just thinking about it, putting myself in her shoes at the moment she saw the look on Prince's face. I wonder if their souls reunited in Heaven, Prince & his son. May they both Rest in Peace.

She’s still suffering to this day with the trauma & heartache of losing those two little babies… he told her that it was the universes way of telling him that they were “not meant to be” & that is why they ultimately had to seperate. she has recently spoke about all of this in a recent interview.. as well as prince not allowing any medical intervention for either pregnancy. he really had a grip on her throughout this entire process & yet he left her anyway when he wasn’t able to get what he wanted out of her. his new wife contacted her as soon as he passed away despite prince & mayte not being in contact for quite from some time prior to his demise. she still speaks of him highly to this day as a person.

She lost one child not 2, in her book she had a molar the doctor found no fetus it a tumor that mimics a pregnancy, her inconsistent stories have been that for the last 6 years, what the world knows is factual he never took her back and hadnt spoken to her for 10 years prior to his transition

I read a bunch of books and blogs about Prince and I listened to countless interviews. I concluded he would find girls that were artistic, racially ambiguous in appearance with a somewhat faith based background and get them lined up as teenagers. He would then take their virginity when they turned 18, move them into his home, give them a two year record deal and promise to make them a star, then replace them with someone else after two years....then do it all over again. He did this for 40 years (literally) and died alone AND lonely.

Doesn't it seem weird that a man who is over 21 would engage in an innocent relationship with a high school age teenager? When I was 21 I could not wait until high school was way behind me? During high school I had to endure four years of running around and checking in. It is pure evil to think about the difficulties there are balancing school work and making sure your immediate family was on good terms with you and your aspirations for the future. There has got to be some kind of psychological situation going on here? Something that is looked the other way on. I think she still uses that celebrity allure. Gross.

The motivation of the media is always to get ratings first, so I can't necessarily trust what they say about someone's relationship. No one really knows what happened between the two of them except them. And we really don't need to know.
