Very nice video which I agree. Not sure why we humans still act as animals even though we get those traits from common ancestors with chimps and bonobos. Left, right and centre, we still keep fighting amongst religions and even ones without belief in God. Instead we should be showing the traits that we got through (self) domestication as domestication changed animals including us where the LOVE needs to be shown more than HATRED. Also, please stop destroying buildings, monuments, etc whether by Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Atheists, Agnostics, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, etc even within India and outside India (Easy to Destroy as even babies and small kids can do that though they are corrected by adults and sometimes older siblings or others though ironic that some adults themselves are involved with destruction. Creation with love tougher to maintain but more beautiful and awesome) Learn to RESPECT and LOVE each other even with differences in opinions, beliefs where BELIEF is WAY MORE THAN RELIGION as Hindus of India are different to Hindus of Australia for example because the Other Cultural Aspects of Languages Spoken, Music One Listens To, Architecture One Sees Daily, Clothes One Wears including for Events, etc are Different and so the BELIEFS FORMED due to Other Cultural Aspect along with HINDUISM are DIFFERENT which can be seen Just within Weddings where even Hindus within India are Different with Cultural Aspects with Regards to Many Customs including Weddings as India has 1 of the World's Largest Cultural Diversities including 1 of the World's Largest Number of Languages and so on and so forth (Same is there whether 1 is Christian, Muslim, Atheist, Agnostic, Sikh, etc within India and Worldwide Too). Lastly, worshipping is up to each 1 because even within Christianity via Orthodox and Catholic Christianity, there is a lot of Worshipping to Idols (Statues, Sainthood worship etc) though Protestant Churches came out with Reformation but even they have Issues via Materialistic Ways (Same goes for Many Religions with Materialistic Ways and Not Just Christians). I'm not from India but it is quite interesting that many ppl tends to intentional misinterpret Buddha as being "atheist". The Buddha never taught atheistic values, rather he taught to use logic, sense and mind to understand the world and the spiritual aspect of oneself. That being said, much of South East Asia is officially Buddhist State, but the ppl never abandon their original Brahmanism practice while incorporating Buddhism principles into their daily prayers. This is in contrast to the Islet and peninsula states of Southeast Asia, as most of them were influenced by the monotheistic beliefs and totally abandoned their ancestral beliefs.

you do realize that original Buddha was a Hindu, don't you? Original Buddha (1900 BCE) followed Vedas (he did not deny athma) was a vegetarian and spoke Sanskrit. Fake Buddha (550 BCE) who spoke fake Pali and ate Beef was created by colonialists. The whole Nirvana Buddhist cult right now is based on the fake Buddha who was created out of thin air by colonialists to pit Buddhism against hindu/vedic tradition. They also created King Ashoka out of thin air to show that he converted from "bad hinduism: to good buddhism". Nice try.

This is the "conspiracy theory" of your version. I'm adherent of Theravada Buddhism, so I do not accept principles of Mahayana and I also find no evidence of your theory. The Gautama Buddha I follow taught the Middle Path and the non-eternity of all beings, Devas, Humans, Asuras all are impermanent. I do not know who is the "original" Buddha your theory put forth, but in our tradition Gautama is the 5th Buddha and there were Buddha before him and there will be Buddha after him. So we do not think he'll be the Only Buddha. But vegetarianism is entirely your choice, Theravada Buddhism do not practice compulsion in our lives. Do as you wish.

Buddhism does not intend to replace and invade belief and culture, unlike the invading Desert ppl. As I've mentioned in my comment most of South East Asia still practice our ancestral beliefs.

Similarly with other Dharmic scriptures of Agama, Tantra, and so on which are also oldest Shastras to date. Even Swami Vivekananda used to say, "Ekam Sat Viprah, Bahudha Vadanti." I was almost disappointed, till I heard the ending, which goes on to show, how unconsciously biased we might often be. Bharata gave us Yajur Veda, Sama Veda, Atharva Veda, but also, the Rig Veda which contained the Nasadiya Suktas, that questions the very nature of a creationist God as we understand in the modern religious context. It was in Bharatavarsha that the Ashtavakra Gita was written, that could quite well be, at least to my knowledge, one of the earliest forms of atheistic philosophies. And even though the whole sect died out later, it was in Bharatvarsha that the Ajivikas formed the very earliest theories on fatalistic determinism, which is often being pondered in the fields of Quantum mechanics and advanced physics today. While the Bhakti movements sweeping through the country established Sakara upsana or murti pujan as the primary path to salvation, we must never forget all the other Sanatana Dharmik philosophies that continue to awe and inspire us even to this day. We must not give up the Sanatana quest for seeking the ultimate truth, and without being blinded by superstition, seek out the concepts behind the forms and symbols. To quote one of my favourite shlokas from the Bhagavad Gita: "नासतो विद्यते भावो नाभावो विद्यते सतः। उभयोरपि दृष्टोऽन्तस्त्वनयोस्तत्त्वदर्शिभिः।। Of the transient there is no endurance, and of the eternal there is no cessation. This has verily been observed by the seers of the truth, after studying the nature of both."

Most of the Vedas are expositions of "how to live life", and thereby the specifics of daily rituals. That said, Nasadiya Sukta and Hiranyagarbha are unique and isolated in their place as the creation hymns. (I think there may be at most two or three more... But they're not the focus of the Vedas.) The Upanishads, however delve into this topic a lot more. Uddalaka, Brihad Aranyaka Upanishad etc. ponder more deeply and try pretty hard to explain a very abstract and intractable idea. The genesis theory across the Vedas and Upanishads is not a single idea as it was written by different people at different times. So, you'll see multiple ideas being suggested. One is free to take umbrage in any view one is able to relate to. This flexibility and room for personal interpretation is one of the strengths of Hinduism. People like Manu who insisted that we simply follow tradition without questioning, are the harbingers of the orthodoxy perceived in the religion. The texts themselves are often equivocal about multiple ideas.

One thing I know is that as a Sanatani, we should love our God, not fear him, none can say that fear God, if you do that he will punish you that way, etc, that is wrong and totally his/her interpretation, Finally, as a Bengali and a follower of Swami Vivekananda, those who love Jiv, are giving their service to God- Swami Vivekananda, So, I can say I am a descendent of Maharshi Kashyap because our Maharshi`s/sages are beyond any varna or caste, I think Varna or caste is proud of cheap people... 🕉🕉🕉🕉, our aim is to get Mukti from Varna/caste, I know this is not easy to make people understand in this society and you may have faced problems, but yes it is the truth and I am a person who understands this... One thing more, if anyone discriminates, ask them a simple question, which I want to raise also if Brahmins are really privileged, why do Brahmins are reading Ramayana, and chanting Jai Shree Ram, which was written by lower Varna people by birth(Maharshi Valmiki, who was dacoit Ratnakar earlier), isn`t your privilege hurt then? Same for Maharshi Ved Vyas, who was the son of Fisherwoman, then why are you reading Mahabharata? all the info they got from writings of Maharishi's naa...

Sir ji, your work is beyond gratitude and praises.....although i completely understand the amount of research and diplomacy in script is required to make "a doc film" takes its time considering you have to manage time and money ... We still believe there are much more hidden gems in "भारतीय इतिहास and संस्कृति" which you will make us know about.... Can't wait for your next film... Please come up with something so meaningful earlier than last time... Your humble disciple... UD..

I thoroughly enjoyed watching your documentary on "idol worship in Bharath". Thank you immensely for bringing such fabulous documentary for the common people to watch and understand Sanathana Dharma and its ideology. Your video is based on unbiased study, interpretation and honest research. It is my personal opinion that millions of Hindus are ignorant of our great religion, its origin, philosophy, Vedas and Upanishads. It is not taught properly in schools because many teachers themselves are ignorant of our religion and above all there is no syllabus that includes teaching Sanathana Dharma systematically. What most Hindus know is half baked knowledge of our ideology, mythologies and superstitions which is being exploited by the priests, seers and the so called "servants of God" who are exploiting the ignorance of the masses. Jai Bharath.

[Svetasvatara Upanishad 4:19]3 The following verses from the Upanishad allude to the inability of man to imagine God in a particular form: "Na samdrse tisthati rupam asya, na caksusa pasyati kas canainam." "His form is not to be seen; no one sees Him with the eye." [Svetasvatara Upanishad 4:20]4 Yajurveda The following verses from the Yajurveda echo a similar concept of God: "na tasya pratima asti "There is no image of Him." [Yajurveda 32:3]5 "shudhama poapvidham" "He is bodyless and pure." [Yajurveda 40:8]6 "Andhatama pravishanti ye asambhuti mupaste" "They enter darkness, those who worship the natural elements" (Air, Water, Fire, etc.). "They sink deeper in darkness, those who worship sambhuti." [Yajurveda 40:9]7 Sambhuti means created things, for example table, chair, idol, etc. The Yajurveda contains the following prayer: "Lead us to the good path and remove the sin that makes us stray and wander." Atharvaveda The Atharvaveda praises God in Book 20, hymn 58 and verse 3: "Dev maha osi" "God is verily great" [Atharvaveda 20:58:3]9 "Sages (learned Priests) call one God by many names." [Rigveda 1:164:46] "Ma cid anyad vi sansata sakhayo ma rishanyata" "O friends, do not worship anybody but Him, the Divine One. Praise Him alone." [Rigveda 8:1:1] Ekam Brahm, dvitiya naste neh na naste kinchan" "There is only one God, not the second; not at all, not at all, not in the least bit." No other literature describes the existence of Only One God as beautifully as Veda does. Just see here.
