Not sure if you know this, but the Seagulls have 45 million new fans. The whole population of Argentina loves the Club for how well you treat our Ale Mac Allister. A fantastic Club for a World Champion like Ale. Now please rescue Leo Messi and Neymar from that dark whole known as PSG 😅❤🇦🇷

My favourite Brighton player would have to be Solly March, been with the club since 2011 and has seen us in our highs and lows as we nearly got relegated from the championship in the 14/15 season. Always been happy to help the team having played nearly every position along the front and having operated at both wing-back roles. never put up a fuss and has had many critics over the years but has always been a good contributor to the club, De Zerbi has now got the best out of him.

Agreed, but it's worth remembering that Bissouma was lauded for the same thing before him. With Brighton's top tier recruiting, no player is truly indispensable at this club, because there will always be someone else coming in when one leaves. Same can be said for Cucurella, who left abruptly with no ready-to-go replacement - signed Estupinan at the last minute who honestly has been much better. Ben White, Dan Burn, and even Trossard in the last few games - players leave but the team never seems to suffer from it. I'm not worried about Caicedo leaving, but I hope he stays at least until the summer.

The glue to it all is Tony Bloom, a fan that prioritises the club's success over his financial gain. They've lost their DOF, all the coaching staff, head of scouting, record signing had to retire at 24, several players bought from other clubs and the club always has a back up plan. They always expect the unexpected.

I have been following Brighton since they got promoted to the Premier League and got laughed at by my soccer team colleagues (I worked for a USL Championship team in the USA) when I told them who I support. I'm so happy that I have continued to support them and now our USA audience is getting progressively bigger. I hope we sustain our success and become a consistent force for years to come. Favorite player: the legend Glenn Murray. 100 goals and helped us get to Wembley in 2019. Close second to the skipper Lewis Dunk, whom is consistently overlooked for England.

Our rise goes far deeper than this video even comes close to explaining though. I started supporting Brighton as a 12 year old in 1994 when we were in the old 3rd division (now League 2) and we still played at the Goldstone Ground. 4 years later in 98, we very nearly got relegated from the football league, only surviving with a draw on the final day of the season, had nowhere to play the following season because our board had sold our ground, and we came VERY close to going out of business altogether. If it weren't for the fans rallying together, we wouldn't have survived. Two seasons in exile playing our 'home' games 70 miles away in Gillingham, followed by 12 bleak (yet admittedly fairly successful) years playing at the godawful Withdean Stadium, that, at it's peak, had a capacity of about 8,500. Only 1,000 of which was actually permanent seating, the other 7,500 was made out of bloody temporary scaffolding with absolutely no protection from rain that were literally taken apart when we weren't playing and were used at major golf tournaments! We had porta-cabins as changing rooms and toilets, and burger vans for catering.....we were a bit of a laughing stock of a club. All the while we were fighting with the government and local council over the right to build a new stadium and spending basically every penny we had on endless appeals and campaigns and proposals etc. We were skint, and we even had it written on our shirts! (we were literally sponsored by FatBoySlim's record label 'Skint') To see where we are now, flying high in the Premier League, playing in a fantastic stadium, with world class training facilities and a conveyor belt of talent at our disposal, and often being referred to as "the most exciting team in England", it's actually quite a staggering turnaround, and one I never thought I'd see in my lifetime! While Tony Bloom rightly takes a lot of the credit for getting us where we are now (the guy is an absolute hero and a legend at our club), we also recognize everything that the previous owner Dick Knight did for us during the dark times too. He literally kept our club alive, and laid the groundwork for us to have a future. Tony Bloom took that foundation and helped us to fly!

Agreed, even as a Brighton supporter it was tough to swallow at the time considering how much he'd given us, but the board had a vision for how they wanted to play and ultimately he was sacked only because it was time for a change in style rather than as punishment for the team's performances. It's crazy how quickly Brighton turned into a high tempo attacking team considering the park the bus stuff we had under Hughton, so it was unquestionably the right call.

On his bank manager’s advice Potter left for Chelsea (now known as Chelsea & Hove Albion as they just need to buy our Tea lady and the changing room light fittings to replicate what we have). Nobody held a gun to his head, the move was mostly down to money and ego. Going to a top six club comes with risks, particularly when you drift down to mid table. When Potter bought his “big club” to the Amex and watched them get routed 4-1, a score which let’s be honest flattered Chelsea, the fans reaction was almost as good as the result, but not as good as the obvious glee of the Brighton players and staff.

I feel bad for Graham Potter. I think he is a terrific manager and I can't blame him for going to Chelsea, the circumstances weren't great (spent way too much on questionable talent, injuries, midseason) but its hard to turn down a "Big 6" job cause it might be years till you get another chance. I think Chelsea will not be patient and fire him which will be their loss.

Fuck him, more to football than money is what he used to say, until a large chunk of it was waved under his nose. The only reason I hope he doesn't fail completely is that Boehly will probably come for De Zerbi if he does. I hope he thoroughly tests Boehly's and Chelsea fans patience though.

Ive liked Brighton for a number of years despite being a leicester fan because they play a similar brand of football as Leicester has in their back to back 5th place seasons. free flowing open and attacking and overlooked by just about all the casual prem fans. That being said, really ought not to overreact too badly. You've seen what has happened to Leicester in the past 2 seasons. Its so difficult to break into the top 6 on a regular basis. Lets just not get too ahead of ourselves, as I recall a lot of the same things were said about my club with their recent success, it can go bad quite quickly.

The point is whilst we have a well run club and the Lizard at the helm we are likely to continue to improve long term, individual in-form players only provide short term success.
