How Do Brighton Keep Replacing Their Players?

Спорт

Over the past 5 years, Brighton and Hove Albion have gone from a club who were constantly fighting for survival in the Premier League to one of the most exciting teams in the country - wowing fans with excellent scouting and expansive football, and despite selling almost a starting eleven worth of key players - the seagulls keep on improving. This summer they’ve sold their starting midfield two from last season: Alexis Mac Allister to Liverpool; and Moises Caicedo to Chelsea for a record British transfer fee; and despite that, Brighton have started the season on fire. So how are Brighton maintaining their incredible journey?

It seems like Brighton always have a backup plan just in case if something happens, wether it be players or managers, and overall, it’s a well run club

They don’t actually have any scout’s whatsoever, the StarLizard algorithm identifies the players (and the coaches) The “scouts” as the video calls them, are actually personnel analysts, there to simply build a personality profile to see if the player fits the attitude requirements. As for DeZerbi, if he went tomorrow there’s already someone on the list to replace him.

The most important thing about brighton is that they sign the proper players that suits the manager's style and it becomes easy for the players to settle much like man city and pep.i doubt de zerbie will stay at brighton for long.

its the other way around actually. its a top down scouting, not bottom up. they brought in profile that fit with the philosophy of the club, set by the owner - highly technical players, which is required in the modern game and then they scout manager that will fit the players available at the club.

@@StatmanDave Thats my point, better run club recruitment wise, brilliant play system. Perhaps should of worded my response better. The system and how the club is run is the key!! Player's look better than they actually are, they work in a set system, hope they don't become Southampton V2.

@@jameshill2806 No the players are exactly as good as they seem, but remember Brighton average 65 to 70% possession, they’re drilled for each specific role they occupy, it’s far more easier to express your talent when you’re in possession and have teammates on the same level. These players don’t lose that talent or ability when they move on, it’s the club they move to that’s the problem, they have to basically unlearn the team mentality, especially in plastic clubs with ego dripping individuals.

@@jameshill2806 I wasn’t disagreeing with your main point, the system at Brighton is incredibly good, I was simply saying that the Brighton players really are as good as they seem, because of that playing system, and inspirational coaching, any team “could” adopt that, and any ex Brighton player at that team would thrive, and their own players would benefit too. But it’s not something that happened at Brighton in a season, and the clubs paying silly money for Brighton players haven’t got the sense to understand this, plus their toxic fans haven’t got the patience or intelligence to wait for it to be nurtured.

Southampton didn’t do anything like Brighton whatsoever, neither did Leicester. Do some research! Did you actually watch the video? 😂 When did either of those teams have a 3 or 4 level succession system for every position on the pitch and every coaching staff member? When did they have a bespoke data system identifying unknown players in tiny South American leagues? When did they have a billionaire owner who built them completely new elite men and women’s training facilities, elite youth academy, brand new award winning stadium and then hand it all over to the club in the form of an interest free loan with no payback requirements? Brighton have made more money in the last 3 seasons than Southampton have made since the start of the 21st century! There’s absolutely no comparison whatsoever.

They are not really good at recruiting, the pressure playing in clubs like Brighton n Benfica is literally non existent. And for most youths they mentality at that age for most talented players just is not ready to handle it like playing for Madrid, Barca and United.

If the majority of their breakout stars were coming from the academy you’d probably be right but that isn’t the case is it(Evan Ferguson the only one I can think of) look at Brightons transfer profits over the last 3 years you’ll soon see that their recruiting is top tier.

Buying talents relatively cheap early on. When they develop as planned they are then sold for a big profit. This equals good recruitment. If it would not be good recruitment then every mid table Club with less pressure to win anything would make such profits but they don't.
