Usually people that like the Nike AirForce 1's don't tend to like the Stan Smith's, and the other way around is also true. I tend to like the Adidas more than the Nike's. The Nike's seem bulky and too casual for my taste, whereas the Stan Smith's seem much more subtle and classy to me. I knew the minute the Nike's ended up in S tier that the Adidas wouldn't make it there. Haha.

so true. I feel like i can style my stans with a lot of looks, theyre very classy and versatile, while the AF1 are way harder to pull off. I wear a lot of slim fit jeans or joggers and they just look gigantic on me.

Agreed, I'm a Stan Smiths person too. The AirForce 1 definitely feel more casual and can also feel a bit more targeted for teenagers these days but that might just be my perception.

I would rank the Stan Smith higher if it wasn't for the synthetic feeling of the upper. I wish they made it all leather but now it's all synthetic. I would also add the Adidas Continental 80 but having the Reebok there makes it redundant.

Nah, they actually do have some pairs with good leather. But it is much harder to find these days. I recently picked up the 'Home of classics' edition Stan smiths and they have really good leather. You need to avoid the primegreens and vegan leather versions though, they're quite bad.

Thursday has a really good white sneaker made with Italian white nappa leather, pretty similiar to the stan smiths with much superior build quality

Also worth noting that for the same price as a pair of Stans (or less), you can get a pair of white trainers that have better quality and durability. I had some Stans that I wore a few times a week that didn’t even last me a year. My Onitsuka Tiger GSMs, on the other hand, lasted me three years.

A really popular one at the moment is the Salomon XT-6 white/lunar rock. Both Air Force 1's and Reebok Club C 1985 TV are on my current rotation. They're lovely. :)

Absolutely agree with the list. Af1 and Club Cs probably have the best silhouette of any sneaker.

I recently came across the Reebok Club C Stacked, which kind of blends the best of both of the AF1s and the Vintage Club C 85, kinda debating on pulling the trigger since I don't actually own any white sneakers

You finding the Stan Smith's clumsy looking.. but the Air force 1's not, is hilarious. The Air force 1's are the most clumsy and bulky looking sneakers ever.

I love AF1s but I get bored of seeing the all-white lows everywhere so I have a B/W low and off-white/cream high pair.

Few months ago I made a Nike by you dunk low in white suede with black swoosh and I absolutely love them!!! They are very comfortable and the quality is weirdly higher than the regulars dunks (I bought a dunk high and I ended up selling them after using just twice because the quality was trash!)

For me the adidas stan smith started it all and will always be my favourite

I’d give the onitsuka tiger mexico 66 and the Adidas continental 80 an honorable mention! I see them as quality sneakers without breaking the bank

you can know how great his choice is just by looking his ranking of worlds most iconic and classy sneaker i.e Superstar and stan smith..... nice choice and great ranking appreciatable from the bottom of my feet

Ever since I was a kid and saw these in Fifa Street 2 (iirc), I knew I needed them: Adidas Forum 84 High I got them in the white + off-white with black accents that bring out the silhouette, there's something I love about those classic black on white stripes so the shoe in this colorway hits multiple spots. Bit more of an eye-catcher, especially if you keep them clean, but I recommend checking them out for something less understated if it lines up with your style.

I recommend Asics Skycourt, ultra cheap option for a white beater. I play basketball in mine and they are still in shape to rock them in the streets.

i bought a pair of the stan smith H and it’s what made me go from an air force 1 fan to completely go over to adidas

I’m 58, I’ve owned almost every sneaker you just ranked. I splurged on a pair of John Lobb Levah’s. Without question the most comfortable and super cool minimalist off-white veg tan glove leather sneakers I’ve ever owned. Ridiculously expensive, but, life is short. Incredible sneakers.

Man I love the converse pro leather hi/low

I basically live in Paul Smith Hansen trainers, definitely some of the most comfy leather sneakers once broken in.

The blazers are a classic so simple yet they stand out

I love the Brunello Cuccinelli white sneaker. The leather is extremely supple.

They are classic for a reason. This is one man’s opinion and that’s ok if he doesn’t like them but I promise you that 80-90% of people that know about sneakers would rank them and the superstars in the S tier with the Air Force ones. I mean he put the reabocks up there and I think most would put those somewhere between c-A. So, it’s all subjective but the consensus is the Stan smiths and Air Force 1s are the GOAT white sneakers. Maybe the common projects will join them some day. I can’t decide because while they’re already one of the most influential sneakers ever, the Stan smiths influenced them so.. we’ll see.

@@joelman1989 Stan smiths are made of shitty plastic(why adidas? when the superstars are still leather). If they made a version with nice leather then its an ez A. Just cause something is popular or iconic doesn't automatically make it S tier like superstars. Then by that logic you could say chucks, vans, ultra boosts, jordan 1's all are S tier.

I like stan smith but if i can afford i would buy common projects, they got really good color options like light grey, beige etc. i hate cortez. New balance look chunky but i love its retro style.

for me. Airmax 90 triple white is one of my all time fave white sneakers

As mentioned the Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 are a great shoe, I like the Nike Killshot 2’s and also the Adidas Gazelles. To me the Nike AF 1 are the most overhyped shoe of all time and just don’t look good. The Reebok Club C 85’s have always been one of my favorite shoes even when I was a kid in the 80’s I would rock them all the time, especially the white/ mint with gum soles.

From a guy who's been living in a pair of Stan Smiths, it simply is the one of the greatest shoes ever. Don't get me wrong its not perfect, its very uncomfortable to wear for longer periods of time and the quality is not great either. But its so easy to dress up or down, especially if you choose a pair with black or dark green heelcaps and details. And if you happen to attend school or college where football in the breaks is a must, the stans make for a brilliant boot (amazing curls on the premium leather models). I'll keep buying them, that's for sure

I think the Adidas Stan Smith are really good shoes. Converse is such an absolutely great option, too.

@@SunSunSunn Stan Smiths, All Stars, Air Force 1 and Vans Slip On are shoes that will never be out of style. Especially Stan Smiths which are extremely versatile. Not many sneakers around that look that good with a 3 piece suit.

Surprised nobody mentioned Adidas Continental 80’s. They’re my personal favourite. Puma Basket are up there too

agree with you on stan smith. I find it look sleek on some ppl, bought a pair for myself, i find it rounded, not good as much as i imagine. the opening of the laces creates a V shape instead of parallel (mind my english). Try to sell mine now. 1 question : What do you think of Tommy Hilfiger Signature Modern Tape Leather trainer? Looking good for me, but for the price, the comfort / longevity is my concern. thanks

Its funny seeing all of the shoes I wore as a kid throught grade, middle, and high school on this list. (When they were first released).

My top 3 white sneakers would be 1. Adidas Forum Lows 2. Asics EX89 (white/blue or white/green) and 3. Reebok Club C 85 vintage. Also Adidas Rivalry Low in off-white/green colorway looks very cool.

Blazer low is a lot more versatile. Although owning mid and low is the only option.

@HarryHas you should try the Stan Smith 80s Archives; they’re more slim fit and way more elegant.

I owned the all white Stan Smith for 5 years and loved them. Until I tried the Club C 85, now I don’t wear the Smiths anymore. The Club C is just way more comfortable and interesting looking to me while still being super versatile.
