The Ultimate Truth | Swami Sarvapriyananda

Swami Sarvapriyananda speaks on “The Ultimate Truth” (Based on Mandukya Karika) at the Vedanta Society of New York on April 15, 2018. With humor and great clarity, Swami Sarvapriyananda reveals “The Ultimate Truth“ contained in one particular verse from Mandukya Karika. Defining the Sanskrit term Turiya, he sets precisely the context in which this revelation should be perceived.

ABOUT VEDANTA
Vedanta is one of the world’s most ancient religious philosophies and one of its broadest. Based on the Vedas, the sacred scriptures of India, Vedanta affirms the oneness of existence, the divinity of the soul, and the harmony of religions.
ABOUT VEDANTA NY
Vedanta Society of New York is affiliated with the Ramakrishna Order of India. In fact, this is the Order's first Center started by Swami Vivekananda, in 1894. It was a historic event, for the seed of the world-wide Ramakrishna Movement was sown here in New York over a century ago. Swami Sarvapriyananda is the present Resident Minister and Spiritual Leader of the Vedanta Society of New York.

My mind struggles with what the hell Swamiji even is doing. Am I teaching myself Vedanta through Swamiji? Is Swamiji re-teaching himself? It's the strangest paradox. (ARE YOU THE QUESTIONER OF THIS SENTENCE?) It's a metaphysical question but still a valid one. I would love to ask Swamiji what the hell he is actually doing from his own perspective. I fear that is not possible because he has no perspective 😂😂😂...😅😱🤯

This is one of the most lucid talks that I am privileged to watch in this video. Swamiji has explained the complex concepts in Advaita Vedanta in such an easy flowing manner that is simply incomparable. Only an expert knows how to simplify things for others to comprehend without making them simple. The way he talks about Consciousness through examples from everyday life is something that even a strong “non-dualist” will discover new insights into spiritual life. Than you for making this available here. I am grateful.

Right here, right now and our self is the Consciousness. After realizing this, the person hood and the life in world will continue as before, but it will not bother us anymore. The Ultimate Truth is that all of us live in a virtual reality. What we see and experience around us as "physical", "material", and "real" are all information-based. As quantum physics is slowly finding out now when it attempts to break particles into smaller and smaller constituents, they find that all those so-called "particles" are mostly empty spaces, defined by digital information. Buddha realized this a long time ago and called it "The Ultimate Truth", but back in those days, there was no vocabulary like "virtual reality", or "simulation", or "quantum bits", etc. Science is only realizing now what Buddha discovered more than 2,500 years ago !
