THE ULTIMATE TITLEIST AVX GOLF BALL REVIEW: The In-Depth Tee to Green 2023 Test!

Спорт

Welcome to Weekend Tour Pros with Luke, where we're diving deep into the much-requested Titleist AVX golf ball review - your top alternative to the Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls. The AVX may be in the same family as those golf balls, but should you have it in your bag? Let's delve in and discover!
Kicking off, Luke provides an in-depth breakdown of the Titleist AVX, uncovering its construction, cover, compression, feel, anticipated performance, colour selections, and pricing. Watch as he dissects its place within Titleist's premium golf ball lineup, comparing it against the Pro V1 and Pro V1x.
In the controlled setting of the TrackMan golf studio, Luke embarks on four pivotal tests. The journey starts with a 20-yard pitch using a 60-degree wedge to scrutinize short-game spin. We then take full swings with a Pitching Wedge, 7 Iron, and Driver. Throughout the assessment, Luke benchmarks data against the Pro V1 and promptly shares his on-the-spot insights from the golf bay. Expect an exhaustive analysis, dissecting each test aspect and comparing the two golf balls comprehensively.
Throughout you will hear careful reference back to Titleist's performance claims for the AVX golf ball. My aim: To uncover if this golf ball truly lives up to its manufacturer's promises!
As we conclude, Luke presents his two paramount takeaways and personal opinion on adopting the Titleist AVX into your game.
Curious whether the Titleist AVX is the ultimate premium golf ball for the average golfer? Tune in now and unravel the truth!

    I started using AVX about a year and a half, yes between the old and new version, the new version has more control, it bite and check around the green, i am single digit handicap i switch from tp5 to AVX.

    Honest and thorough review. I just switched to the AVX as I tend to have very high ball flight. I'm seeing similar results to your test, but with a slightly higher swing speeds. My mid to low irons increased an average total distance of 5-10 yards. The driver total distance averaged almost 20 yards. Wedges through 8 iron were relatively unchanged.

    Hi Lee! Thanks for watching my video and for sharing your own experiences! It’s great to hear there’s some consistency in our results but as your testing shows, whilst my videos are relatable, we all swing differently and that does impact our individual results! Sounds like you’ve had a great experience with the ball! I hear the new Chrome Soft is very similar performing so keen to test that soon! All the best! 👍🏼

    Thanks Luke, great review as ever, just what I wanted to see as I have been using the AVX this season instead of the Tour BRX. Fortunately I don’t lose many golf balls so price is not too much of an issue for me. I use the yellow ball and also a 13 handicap, I like the softer feel. Many thanks

    Hi Phil! Absolutely no problem at all! I REALLY liked how the ball felt and really enjoyed the performance so I totally get why you and any golfer would play it! The fact it did everything Titleist said it would do too means you’d have complete confidence in the ball - which I think is so important! Have a great weekend Phil! 👍🏼

    I like the AVX!! I usually play Z-Star but buy the AVX on occasion. I like the soft feel of the ball and feel I get less spin and longer drives while still getting plenty of spin around the greens. I feel it is a good ball for slower swing speed players like me. I really enjoy your reviews...keep up the good work!!

    Hi Mike! It always great to hear from golfers who have actually used the ball on the golf course and it sounds like your results have matched my data (soft feel, longer drives and good short game spin!). I also think Z Star is an awesome ball so it really feels like you’re playing too gems there! Thank you for watching my videos and for your kind words! I really appreciate it! 👍🏼

    @@weekendtourpros What’s your longest ball since testing?

  • @weekendtourpros

    @weekendtourpros

    10 ай бұрын

    @richardjacobs7632 it’s hard to say with certainty Richard as I’m the biggest variable in the tests so my swing on any given day can be a bit different. I know My Golf Spy have just released the results from their robot testing and that might be worth taking a look at! I’ve noticed that softer low spin balls (my old TM Tour Response and the Bridgestone Tour B RXS) are long with irons but drop off a bit with driver (and you lose some control and stopping power with irons and wedges due to the lower spin!) whereas firmer balls, provided they don’t spin too much, are longer with driver for me. I appreciate that’s not a concrete answer but I hope it helps. The My Golf Spy report is well worth a 10 minute read! 👍🏼

    Hi, great review! Only discovering the channel now and subbed! You mentioned in the video it wasn’t the lowest spin ball. What would you say is the lowest spin ball you have tested?

  • @weekendtourpros

    @weekendtourpros

    10 ай бұрын

    Hi CBK! Thanks for watching and for subscribing! In my experience the softer compression balls (TM Tour Response, Bridgestone Tour B RXS and Titleist Tour Soft) all spin less at the bottom end of the bag (wedges to mid irons) and then I’ve seen balls like Z Star and Chrome Soft spin less with driver. So it’s hard to say one ball spins less overall as I haven’t seen that as such but I’ve seen balls spin a lot less than AVX in different parts of the bag. I’ve got the Chrome Soft LS ball to review soon and I’m really keen to see how that compares to the normal Chrome Soft! I hope that helps! 👍🏼

  • @ckul-

    That’s very helpful, thank you for the reply and for the well made videos. They are really informative. I’m mainly looking at reducing spin at the top end of the bag. Currently I have been playing the AVX but they are becoming increasingly hard to find in pro shops where I play and local retailers so having to go online. Since I was ordering online anyway, I decided to snag a dozen Pro V1x Left dash to give them a go since I’ve seen some people on KZread say a lot of good things about them. I’ll check out the chrome soft LS review when it’s out as well and I think they are less dear then AVX/Pro V1 Lineup as well.

    @ckul- I’m not sure if the Chrome Soft Ls are a lot cheaper anymore which is one of the reasons I stopped playing the normal Chrome Soft about 3 years ago. But you can normally pick them up on offers (unlike Pro V1 or AVX in my experience!). 👍🏼

I’ve used Pro V1’s and similar expensive balls in the past when bought as a gift but I can’t warrant paying it unless by some minor miracle I knock 10 shots off the handicap! Haha!
