I went golfing last week and think I may have hit a world record for amount of trees hit in an 18 hole round. Like, I did the math, and it was atleast 54 trees

I made a "barky" par the other day with an AVX after hitting an 8 iron 2nd shot straight into the trunk of a tree which bounced back at me and left me 10 yds further... Then hit the next 8 iron THROUGH the 90% air of the tree to 8 inches...

The only time I use pro-v 1s is when I find them in the woods lol

The AVX’s lower ball flight may cause additional skip across the water.

Rick. You don't know this but you cured my shank today with one of your older videos. This means that if I won these I wouldn't simply shank them into a hedge anymore. Thanks for all of your help.

Thank you for the review. With your ball speed, I would expect the results. I am 65 years old and had several spinal surgeries but still a 6 hcp with a much slower swing speed. I played the Pro V1 for 10 years. I changed to the AVX 2 months ago. I gained distance and feel. I shoot 2-5 strokes lower per round on average.

I really like the new Yellow AVX balls. I can see them easier on the course and they preform great for me. I don't see much difference between the ProV1 and V1x compared to the AVX, but I can SEE the ball better on the course so I'll be playing the AVX Yellow in the future.

Bought a sleeve last week from my pro. Love them, my personal preference than the pro v1. Lovely feel off all clubs especially the putter

Great review! Played my first round with the 2020 AVX and absolutely love it. I struggled with high spin with the ProV1x so I was losing distance. I was hitting the AVX much longer off the Tee 10-15 yards and about an iron less. It putts like a dream. Very nice ball.

yes. Unfortunately I don’t buy balls and I rarely find AVX’s, so I have so many ProV1s and V1X’s but I only have one AVX

I usually only hit prov1, but I found an avx and decided to try it out. I hit the avx lower, straighter, and longer. It definitely get better to me, but I only have one!

Great video, as are all your videos. I currently play the Pro V1, but only on warm days. I'm a senior and can compress the ball better on those days. In the spring and fall, or cooler days, I use a lower compression ball. I now have the AVX as an option. Can't wait to try it.

I love the Pro V1. And best of all, I find enough of them that I basically play for free. Haven't bought a golf ball in years. Thank you, all who hit Pro V1 into the bushes!

I want to see a blind ball test. No bias or preconceived opinions black them out and give it a go.

John Wood ummmm you only test premium balls. Callaway, Bridgestone, tp5, proVs and so on. Now black them out and test why is this hard to understand?

Aww dang. The club I'm at actually is in the few states that were selected for the trial run before Titleist went live with these. right out of the box I could tell the difference in distance, trajectory, and spin. as someone who spins the ball way too much, it was like a blessing. hope you guys get them soon!

Just hit the AVX last week and I can say they are perfect for me. They hit well in the wind and they spin fine on irons. I would recommend them for those who play in wind or spin too much. It has helped straighten my driving out too.

Ever consider letting mid handy capper help or give input with ball testing? My swing speed being 100 ish, the performance from balls does not seem to match your results lol

Started using the AVX last year as it was recommended to me by a pro - I hit a high ball and not the longest hitter / standard lofts on irons, so made sense to give it go. Love it, and have been using it ever since. I find it gives me a touch more length but the same feel and touch on short game as Rick said. Maybe only slight downside is I notice less spin on the green with wedge or 100 yard shots but then I don't have a quick swing or zip through the ball so that affects it too. Great review and nice to see the numbers from Rick's testing!

These balls for me work well... first off I hit a higher ball and they helped me with trajectory (bringing it down). I’ve scored some of my best rounds with this ball... and your comprehensive testing I can clearly see now why it works well for me... Thanks Rick. You rock

michandcat That's why I stopped using Titleist. Have you by chance tried the new Snell balls? Just over $30/dozen USD, free shipping. They feel and perform just like a proV1 for me. Much better than Maxfli, I'd imagine. And if I lose one, it's just $2.50 down the drain, not $4.50, haha

I am a high spin, high launch, long hitter. Thanks for your side by side comparison, because I have played Pro V1 for the past 10 years. I’m excited to try toe AVX because I feel like it will help me control my drives more. 350 yards doesn’t help if I’m in the long rough!

Rick love your videos. Recently updated irons from TP2 to TP1s and the videos comparing them with other brands really helped explain a lot. Delighted with the irons. This review on AVX and Pro Vs helped me decide that AVX probably a better ball for me.

Rick. I agree I played the Avx in Florida in windy conditions and loved them but I would have to say my favorite is still the ProV 1

Excellent review. I played the AVX this past year because I found the lower flight on my drives gave me better distance but these still felt soft around the greens. I completely agree with your comment on the naming of the product. It should be a Pro V1 branded ball with some designation for lower spin but same feel.

Very informative, great comparison of the pro V1, pro V1x and the new AVX with lower spin results. I think I would use this ball in windier conditions in order to maintain my distance control. Thanks Rick 👍

I have used the pro v1x for years because I like the spin around the green. However I tend to spin it to much on driver and longer shots. The avx maybe a better choice for me. will have to do some testing myself to see. Nice review, keep them coming! I do like the yellow option.

A couple of my long time Pro v1 player friends tried this ball and didn't prefer the sound. They both thought is sounded thin off the driver. See what happens. Love your videos, thanks!

Great video. I purchased a dozen when they first came out and i couldn't tell much difference between the AVX and the ProV1 , but more difference in the ProV1x. I played the ProV1x on a more regular basis, i do think the AVX gave me better distance with my Irons. Keep up the videos.

I took one AVX ball free to try out, I can tell the difference I used TM tp5x at first nine and avx on second nine, there is a different my ball flight are lower and bounce more forward.

I love pro v1 but I can honestly say I've never bought a box I always find great condition pro v1s every round I play after a good cleaning they're pretty much good as new. I couldn't help but notice that the pro v1 give me the best flight and distance compared to other balls I've used in the past

Just tried the AVX ball compared to the TP5. Used Arccos for distance and I gained 20 yards over the tp5. All I say is wow. Going to give them a try.

After the review I used the avx and find it as the ball im switching to instead of pro v longer off driver with more control didn’t see much different in spin off irons great ball

Been using these this yr for the first time and enjoying the performance of them coupled with new ping irons and arccos

I have been using the PRO VI and PROVIX for many years. Then came in the Volvik crystal golf balls which I thought was very good. Last week I used an AVX with my Driver…a silent thud and the ball flew and good 15 yds beyond my usual length….thinking it was a fluke I thought I would use it on the driving range….the sound off the face is definitely different…with a cushioning effect…and definitively longer. Just ordered 2 boxes online.👍👍👍
