The Ultimate Home Theater? LG 97-inch OLED + 9.2 Klipsch Atmos System

Ғылым және технология

The LG 97-inch G2 OLED TV not only surprised me in a number of ways, but motivated me to build an entertainment system deserving of its huge screen and picture quality. The result is what you see here, with the LG 97-inch G2 OLED (OLED97G2PUA) matched to a huge Klipsch Reference Premier speaker system powered by an Integra 5.4 9.2-channel A/V receiver, for a truly massive home theater system. Is going bigger better? Is going bigger-er better still? Find out as I describe what it was like to live with this system for a week after building it.

@@sergino83 correct, but often people overspend for gadgets and luxury that isn't necessary to just get to work. Also there's a difference between looking at cars bc you're bored with what you have instead of it truly needing replaced. I have a cheap toyo i daily drive and plan on keeping until it dies with a camaro i baby and treat more like a weekend toy. I caught myself eyeing older vettes from early 90's when i don't have enough time to fully enjoy the toys i already have- so i bought a high end camera as it won't suffer if I don't have time to play with it foe several months. Still stare at old vettes, so maybe it didn't work 🤣 I went and got way too serious for what was an original joke, but forgive me- it's too cold to go outside past couple days. I’d just like to express my appreciation for not just your approach and knowledge, but especially for your skill as a presenter. It’s such a relief to hear a KZread presenter who doesn’t sound like they learned to speak by listening to text-to-speech engines, which would be about 80% of KZread these days. Either you had actual training or you’re just a natural, but either way it’s a relief to hear a human who sounds like a human 🙂

I have a very similar Klipsch Atmos enabled system with most of the same stuff in this. Its no joke. That sound makes the real measurable difference in my home theater. I've just got a "75 QLED and its great, but the sound is the real game changer. Two big Klipsch 10" subs, the brand new Atmos and center channels in this vid are part of my setup.. my L/R and Surround are a little older, but they're still Klipsch reference series, and sound incredible.

@@BigDavos Agreed. Unless you live in a large house and have very deep pockets I don't think anyone should be paying 24 grand just for a tv. Go with a tv that is somewhat smaller like maybe a 75" and only when prices for a 97" are more like what 65" and maybe 75 " are now. The speakers to fill up an average size house with good sound don't have to be nearly as large as these either but at least the cost of all the speakers in this video isn't what will break the bank for most people. The tv however is a different story. Unless you are wealthier than the average dude it makes no sense to be spending $24,000 dollars on a tv.

THANK YOU for telling it like it is. I know you are a Sony A95K fan but you REALLY seem to lose it when it came to experiencing the 97" LG G2. I like how you mentioned the size of it in a room and the sitting distance compared to the 65", it's exactly what I thought. I can go on about your review but you said it best. I also want to thank you for reviewing the Klipsch speakers and the receiver with them. I couldn't tell you how many times I go and look at those in stores only imagining it together with the 97" LG G2. Last note, If you don't cry once having to depart from that TV, I'll do it for you. - Thanks again!

That tv is my dream for my system. I have an 11 channel w/ Klipsch rf7 iiis, all Klipsch surrounds, svs pb 16 ultra, JTR cap4000 and just got an 85 inch Samsung qn90b. Which is a great big tv for my theater. But a 97 inch oled would be my ultimate. One day when they becom more affordable. At least I have the sound system where I want it.

Best thing to do in your room buying a TV is to look for the biggest size that fits and just go with it. Saves you time and trouble. Also, buy the best, even if it costs a lot so you don't need to consider upgrading for years.. I basically was buying TVs every year because everything gets too small. 55 inches in my bedroom is big enough, 77 in my basement is big enough as well. This obviously depends on your room sizes too.

Been rocking the first 4k tv from Sony. As soon as the 97-98 inch OLED series come down to sub 10k, I’ll get one. Otherwise, it’s just a dream.

My current set up is 77 G1 with Sonos full seriousness and it’s more than plenty for my space. The 77 G1 is soooo much brighter than the 55inch b6 I had for 6 years. I have to watch it on dark room mode when I’m viewing Dolby content. I couldn’t imagine how much more light 97 inches would emit 😅

I second the video idea of best setups with in certain price ranges, including possibly video game consoles and/or other media streaming devices considering the different formats available I.e Dolby Atmos Vison/ IMAX/ etc

This is very interesting. I was not aware of the LG 97" TV. The good news for me is that we have a dedicated home theater and I'm now using a 2K projector and a 120" screen. I'm thinking of upgrading. My wife prefers the look of front projection. We find projection looks more "filmic" with movies. Even if I could afford the LG, I think I'll go with a much less expensive 4K projector, such as the Epson. Since I can go all the way down to total darkness, light pollution is not an issue.

great video. what i'd like to know is why 12 more inches of screen costs 4 or 5 times the amount of an 85"? The mass market has been stuck on this 80-86 for over a decade. I think This size of a screen should have been more accessible by now.
