Ойын-сауық

Does protein moisture balance confuse you? Scare you even? If you don’t know what it means and why it is so important to incorporate both protein and moisture balance in our routines for ALL hair types, this video will explain how you can do just that. And if you don't know your hair type or how to test your elasticity and porosity, I show you how to do that, too. These traits (elasticity and porosity) are essential to understand your hair so you can treat it right. So keep watching and I will teach you how to identify these key protein/moisture ingredients in your products and help you with a schedule to figure out how often you need protein and moisture for the perfect balance and healthy hair.

i love mel’s channel, but many of her tips aren’t necessary. if you love haircare and have damaged hair, then by all means follow her advice. but the best thing you can do for your curly hair is make sure its not damaged by heat or chemicals, shampoo, and condition. that’s the same routine as a person with straight hair. not everybody needs picture-perfect curls every single day. your curls are awesome whether you put very little effort into them or you go the whole 9 yards

I recommended trying 1 new thing at a time. Ive slowly gotten my routine figured out First I switched shampoo, conditioner and leave in when I ran out Next I added a soft hold gel and started using this sea salt spray(that does nothing but Im trying to get rid of it) Then I decided I needed a mousse Finally I decided I would really like a stronger hold gel and moved some stuff around So Ive got: shampoo, conditioner, leave in, sea salt spray, soft hold gel, mousse, hard hold gel, air dry and then scrunch

In fact, I used Pantene (insert horrified face here) conditioner this morning and my hair is silky, perfectly wavy and frizz free! I now know how to read my hair and give it what it needs! Love you and your videos! 🥰

Split ends are totally normal! It happens from styling, eventually the ends of our strands wither away and split. Prevent them with protein moisture balance, limited styling, and sealing them. Protective styles help reduce split ends because you don’t do you hair as much. And the ONLY way to fix them is a haircut!!

I've been binge watching Manes by Mell for a while now (about a year and a half), and she has been the ULTIMATE guidance on the revival & recovery of my curly hair. I'm watching this video of hers for the first time right now, and it's by far the best Protein & Moisture Balance lesson I have ever received in my life. Manes By Mell is a gift sent from the highest heavens 🙏🏻 Thank you for always sharing your wisdom with us 😭. This last part of my comment might seem a little over the top, but your videos are truly life changing to me.

I’ve watched this video twice (I get so excited waiting for Texture Tuesday). It’s very informative and helpful. I still don’t really understand my hair though. 😭 I’m fairly sure I’m low porosity but it gets over moisturised so easily. The elasticity is good to fairly long stretch before breaking. But high porosity is supposed to be prone to over moisturising. It takes a while to get wet and is shiny, which makes me think low porosity. I feel like I need a phd in hair to understand my own silly strands.

But does it absorb Water when you spray it? Mine is low porosity and it's pretty obvious cause the water won't get absorbed unless I press it. Tricky thing to me was understanding if it's medium or low porosity. But given what you wrote, I'd advise you to use less products. Test which one (and if) you can take one off

I went straight to looking at my products after this video and noticed very little with protein ingredients. I was just wondering, how many protein ingredients should I look for roughly in a product? And the chart that you gave as a rough guide, can it be any mix and match of products as long as it’s an equal amount of both moisture and protein? I hope that made sense! (I have high porosity - i believe) . Thank you so much for making these videos, I cannot wait to practice everything I have watched and see the progress xxx
