    I remember when GW was selling that battle board thing. A modular table for warhammer. I had the similar idea but mine was 6 segments of 2' by 2' with a smaller frame below that would sit on my kitchen table, sort of as an extension making my table into a 6' by 4'. And I wanted to use my citadel battlemat or any other mats that would fit.

    Great idea! We made a fold up mobile table (so to say) and then have 1x 1 foam tiles we can layout on the table. I like your idea better That being, I would lighten the load with some half inch cabinet grade plywood. Looks like you used half inch MDF which might not be much different but 3/4 weighs a lot. Would also use some cleaner select pine for the edges and stain it. Thanks for the inspiration and keep the ideas coming.

  • @BenjisHobbies

    @BenjisHobbies

    Жыл бұрын

    In hindsight there would definitely be ways of lightening the load. I’d probably go with 6mm MDF rather than 9mm next time. My concern with ply is that the quality (especially from big box stores) in the U.K. can be a bit iffy, so long term I think MDF would be a bit more functional. Thanks for your kind words! 😊

For warhammer it might be a bit too hilly, but still very sweet. I would love to see you make some modular forests/hills/river/whatever in the same style and see how you can diversify this board to keep it fresh over multiple games. Hint: Warhammer the Old World is coming out this or next year most likely, creating a load of new wargamers looking for inspiration for their own boards

    Don’t spray paint inside, especially not without a mask! The fumes are toxic.

    I had both sets of doors open - there was plenty of ventilation 😊

    Give this hobby Karen an award for saving us all! Clearly someone that runs their own channel on minis knows ventilation is necessary in this circumstance.

    @@photonfartsqueeze6694 haha! I get it on so many videos! It’s a valid point, but I don’t feel it’s necessary to do a risk assessment, go in to every safety precaution I take for everything I do or comment on it in every video otherwise I’d be here for days and it would make the video incredibly boring. Are the fumes good? No. But with the doors open and spending a minimal amount of time spraying the risks are low. If I was doing it in an enclosed space, day in, day out it would be a different story, but I’m not. I sprayed for 2-3 minutes with loads of ventilation so realistically the risks are minimal.

    @@BenjisHobbies I’m glad to hear that. A lot of times, people know better but don’t have proper ventilation anyway, so that’s why I commented. Edit: also because its good for other people who might read the comments, and don’t know better

    I’m not even sure what this comment means! You can clearly see both sides with models and terrain on them at the end. 1% talking? I narrated the entire video. What action were you expecting? Me taking the board on a rollercoaster? Taking it skydiving?

    love your channel and it's a great video. One small criticism, if at all possible you should eliminate "nitty gritty" from your lexicon. look it up, it's a really unpleasant phrase

    @@BenjisHobbies I'm not accusing you of anything sorry if that wasn't clear. I just don't think people are aware of the real meaning of that expression. Like paddy wagon and Indian promises are obviously rooted in race. But most people aren't aware nitty gritty refers to the human refuse left in a slave ship that had to be cleaned before you could continue on your trade route.
