What does Mike have to do to win? Abseil whilst making pastry? Throw himself out of a plane whilst making pasta? He was completely out of his zone and his looked perfect. Jamie's was good as well but Mike deserved that one imo.

As much as I want to see mike win and as tasty as that dish looked, I still gotta hand it to Jamie this episode he totally earned that win. That dish not only looked amazing even when it got "messed up" but it was also really interesting and novel. If I wanted to show off a little that's the one I would make.

My account has existed for longer than the 13 years that Google requires to be 'of sufficient age', and I STILL need to make a check, even though they know my birthday, they ALREADY HAVE my card info from purchases from the Play Store etc. So why in hells can't I just verify my age by signing up in my Google Android Phone and authorising them to look at my data? Instead I have to 'authorize a transaction' on my credit card. What bs.

This was great! Love that the normals are getting more adventurous with their dishes. I wouldn’t try many of the recent dishes because they are above my level.

I feel Mike goes above and beyond with his dishes and should have got a few more of these wins

Another battle where they both did a great job! Mike gets my vote for being relatively organized and calm. Plus, the cupcake cases for blind baking mini tarts is a great idea! I'm definitely using that.

Give it a focus on the singleton bottle while he prep his cocktail: magic! The bowl is back in, the mixing working again! (reminder: egg yolk fell in his meringue earlier, so the meringue should be dead in the water.... then this, then his meringue come out perfect? common...)

I love the background music they play in every episode when Jamie’s slowing down or getting confused. I now hear that “dooododoo” and automatically look around for what’s getting messed up.

I feel like Mike deserved to win this one, he is really always choosing variety when he does these battles, I feel like Jaime is sort of predictable. Mike FTW

when James is judging a Jamie dish, the bias is evident to see. Thought Mike knocked it out the park making pastry in 45 mins, whereas Jamie made poorly shaped aranchini. Mike FTW

Yes! 90% of the time Mike's dish is the one I want to eat most, followed by Barry and then Jamie in very last place. To be fair I'm not a big fan of bacon or cheese, I could live without steak, and I can't handle spice so the majority of food he makes just isn't to my taste. It does feel disappointing that Jamie consistently wins with what feels like variations of steak, bacon, cheese and chilli, with some other ingredients thrown in. I'm honestly surprised when his dish doesn't have those elements in it. I'm sure it tastes delicious, but it would be nice to see a dish of a different kind win these battles more often. Mike and Barry both mix it up often with different ingredients, and from different cultures - often ones a lot of people might not have heard of eg Barry's malapua pancakes in the pancake battle. It's a shame Jamie is so often rewarded for staying in his comfort zone, whilst the other two experiment, and seem to push themselves more and still lose. Also, this is in no way a criticism of Jamie - he seems lovely on screen, I'm sure the food tastes great, and he's found what works for him so I don't blame him at all. I'd probably do the same in his position! But it would be nice to see someone else win sometimes

They are the sweetest guys. I loved it when Jamie, the winner, said it must have been close.

Y'know, gotta say, absolutely love how Mike tends to go for the "cheats" style of cooking. Really time efficient ways of getting at what you're looking for. It's a skill that's really useful for spicing up your midweek cooking. As a guy who does a lot of cooking for the household on the daily, these sorts of things are absolute lifesavers when you've got to get something on the table and ready before rushing off to do something else. Even if he doesn't get a ton of wins at it, rather like seeing how he goes for ways of doing things that help him get more done in less time, like using the microwave and pressure cooker in the 20 minute battle to get tender ribs and baked potatoes, cheats methods to get ice cream for the mochi ice cream in the Japanese battle nearly two years ago. It's great to see how to cut corners, and love how he goes for ambitious meals within these time limits, by using the proper tricks to save loads of time over the traditional ways of doing things. Love seeing how each of the lads have their own style and how they're good to learn from.

I'm not a fan of whiskey but those drinks had me wondering if I should go and get some because man, do I love mixing things up! These looked delicious. P.S. The blooper at the end where Barry slammed his hand on his mouth at the sight of yolk dropping in with the egg white -- golden.
