I love how josh will take you to the point where you have to ask the question, “is this guy really a chef” and then immediately spouts off scholar like food knowledge and reels you right back in.

I can not put in to words how much I appreciate that Josh eats like a human garbage can....and also like one of the wealthiest men alive. He also cooks like a pro, and yet you can tell every time he talks he hasn't been to culinary school.

16:30 My mother passed away Friday. I'm sick @ home with possible covid because 4 of my siblings all tested posi when I went to go spend time with her. I've missed almost two weeks of work. I made home made chicken noodle soup last night. I remember every time I've made it and why. From my first apartment with my now wife almost 15 years to now watching mythical kitchen coughing my head off wondering when the pain will stop. Every bite better than my last. I’m pretty young and I’m at a point where I can’t imagine my mom passing because I still need her with me, because I love her. I have been working in hospice care for over 13 years, and I was so glad to hear you talk about Elizabeth Kubler-Ross' book on grief. We would all be better if we talked about the certainty of death openly. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. My last meal would definitely include soft pretzels and ice cream!

I explained to my partner a few weeks ago that shrimps and fish have been salt brining their entire life which is why they have so much more flavour than land animals.. he did not follow BUT josh making the same argument in this video is the most gratifying thing ever

My Grammy used to LOVE shrimp cocktail-one of the last times I saw her before she died was at thanksgiving, where she probably had like 40 shrimp by herself, haha. She was awesome and I bet she would have loved josh's energy as it would remind her of my siblings and I. FUN FACT: the grey line in the middle of Humboldt Fog isin't actually mold (although it may contain a little mold) its grey pigment comes from vegetable ash, which coats the outside and is layered between the curds. This is why it does not have that intense taste that comes from a blue cheese. My Grammy also used to love eating 'cheese and crackers' with us, and she taught me a lot about cheeses, as she grew up and lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for most of her life. Anyways, thank you for sending me through so many fond memories in this video. -Sincerely, a little cook who is super inspired by your cooking.

i've thought about this long and hard but my last meal should be a 10-piece bucket of jollibee chicken, a tub of jollibee spaghetti, my dad's caldereta and pinakbet with sweet potatoes and bagnet, and a slice of carrot cake with ice cream on top.

This was the best episode of mythical kitchen. Josh just really hit a lot of things home for me. Existential crisis/Easy Going/ Actually learning a thing or two about cooking. I know he wasn't as crazy as he usually is but this one was just really great. 👌

I Love his dorky sincere attitude, what a sweetheart.

One of the reasons i love cooking is exactly because its a way to save off death. By cooking a meal, by feeding someone, you make sure they live another day, at least that's my way of looking at it. Cooking is the ultimate form of care for someone else.

They should have done a Sims thing, with Josh disappearing in a puff of smoke while the crew gathers around his corpse and cries loudly. Then they eat his food.

This should be a recurring concept. Do it for the other three, gotta do some Rhett and Link, throw in an Emily and have her just play an older version of herself. My idea though, so you've gotta do mine immediately. I want three pieces of toast. I guess you can homemake some peanut butter. The other two are just bananas and honey, though. I'm sure you can plus it up. I am dying after all. But aren't we all?

Can't wait to hear them discuss how shrimp are pickles or something like the sea is a soup on "A Hotdog is a Sandwich" next week.

I loved that ya'll did this it's so creative and such a joy to watch. Would you consider doing this for the other cast members? I would love to see what everyone would like to have :) But also Josh I want to know what crime you committed that got you sent to death row.

theory: the real last meal is just ranch dressing served as a soup course and chicken adobo but Josh has already made/talked about chicken adobo so much he went for his second choice of carne asada

This is such a GREAT series!! As one that has experienced loss in multiple ways, it is nice to see to normalizing of something that is inevitable. I am a mental health professional and think this is one of the best shows on KZread; it may potentially become a form of therapy much like music and art.

I need an episode to know if bay leaves actually do something.

Josh is an excellent show host. He seems extremely off the cuff and genuine while keeping you engaged. Love this channel!

Love how he drops all these references on philosophical and scientific literature in between all the madness. You write those scripts yourself, Josh?!

My last meal would be a total nostalgia meal: Course 1: When I was in my teens there was a restaurant called Alice Fazoolie's and they had these mini loafs of garlic bread and in the center was half a mozzarella ball that was coated in garlic butter. So it was almost like a garlic loaf lava cake

Well since you asked, my last meal: Beef Wellington, smoked brisket, lobster white truffle mac n cheese (never had it so it's probably only chance), with a bucket of fried chicken and fixin's (collard greens, cole slaw, potato salad). At least that is what I'm thinking now.

Last meal: My mom's stroganoff. She was never a good cook, I learned that at a fairly young age when I started as a dishwasher. But, seared steak mixed with beef consomme and a can of cream of mushroom, then a few scoops of sour cream. Served over rice with crescent rolls. That's gotta be it

Josh, I've got to agree on the nostalgia part. My final meal would probably be a lot heartier though. My great grandmother's vegetable soup, corned beef, and cabbage with vegetables, potatoes, and for all my fellow true crime fans: a pound of berries
