The UK village divided by asylum seeker arrivals

Hundreds of hotels around the UK are being used to house people seeking asylum while the authorities try to clear the growing backlog of cases.

While some are welcoming, it’s also drawn some angry protests.
We went to the Leicestershire village of Kegworth, where friends and families are divided over the arrival of dozens of new neighbours.

my grandmother drove an ambulance in london during the blitz in WW2 but when she needed assisted accommodation at age 92, she had to wait because migrants were given priority. she lived and worked and paid tax in britain her whole life yet took second place to people who had never paid in a penny nor served the country in war. how can that be fair?

Clash of cultures is a real thing. You cannot ignore or minimize major conflicting interests when attempting to integrate humans any more than with other animals. You cannot expect lions and lambs to ignore each other just because you think it would be NICE for them to GET ALONG. Most cultures have perpetual ideals that will not necessarily HARMONIZE. In spite of what anyone thinks would be IDEAL. The Danish government is obviously not willing to take on such a project and I think they have every right to not even want to try. How about we just move someone into YOUR house without your approval? Or do you not have a say in the matter without being ostrasized or accused of being racist?

We have no immigrants here (well, small amounts who come on short-term visas and are then escorted out of the country - if they stay ONE day past their visa it's 28 days prison and deportation). We also don't have any financial crisis, no woke BS, no endless Pride marches (or any at all) no people identifying as things they are not, no businesses going bankrupt (other than the inevitable few), no homeless crisis, anything bad in fact. First: they need to get a proper job and contribute to the taxes within 3-5 years depending on their existing skills. Second: If they are caught with any crime, one strike and they are out. This way, you keep the best of them, and get rid of the rest.

Surely safety of the family would have priority above all else? Why wouldn’t you all cross into the closest safe country, use the thousands of pounds payed to traffickers for passage to the UK and starting again? The answer is blindingly obvious. It’s an investment.

@katrinamoore3520 A good, clear-eyed assessment from you here 👏 Our Immigration Dept and Home Office have years of records now - which are NOT made public. The travel records of asylum seekers accepted for refugee settlement 100% make a lie of their 'dangerous, war-torn' stories! And our governments have long known this fact - but continued to provide homes and lifelong welfare to these bogus claimants. The pattern of migrant families 'going home for long holidays' begins as soon as they have formal residency. British taxpayers' funds contribute to these jaunts to 'the dangerous, war-torn countries which they were forced to flee'. The genuine refugee cases are now estimated at no more than 3-5% of all applicants. Just the money we spend alone, as a nation, giving legitimacy to 95% fraudulent or unqualified asylum seekers makes my eyes water.

@christrickett3291 Thanks for posting about your experience teaching ME male students in a ME country. /Your assessments about the integrity and legitimacy of that program match exactly with an English woman who posted recently. She worked for over ten years in a ME country. Wrote that she valued what she learned and saw, valued living in a culture so different to her own. That was her closing conclusion - that M'zlim cultures particularly do not mesh in a beneficial way with our own. The belief systems and values differ too deeply. (Unlike the lass in this thread whose parents migrated legally from Lithuania. Raised their two daughters here, are a part of the fabric of life here. They do not live in a separate ethnic or religious enclave.) /She also described ME characteristics and behaviours which I won't repeat here. But let's just say, she would not for one second have fallen for the rehearsed performance from the purported 'Syrian male migrant' seen in this video. Yes, it's easy to show sympathy and believe what we're told - as the Channel 4 reporter did. My instinctive guess is that this migrant is not actually Syrian - which is why he didn't wish to show his face. Some illegally arrived migrants are advised what to say on their asylum applications, for best outcomes, by the people trafficking groups. Others are coached by the UK NGOs, providing free supports in Northern France eg Care4Calais. When you purposely enter the UK, after destroying your passport or other identity documents, you can say whatever you like about your age, country of origin, family, religion, political affiliation, sexual and gender identity etc. As we have seen repeated thousands of times in European countries.

(middlesbrough houses the most refugees in the whole of Europe excluding ukrainians as Poland most likely takes that title these days). But imagine this, the town had its own culture and community and because its the poorest place in the country guess where the migrants and illegal immigrants are housed in huge numbers. The town and culture has been completely removed and the people from Middlesbrough no longer recognize the place. The town is not the place we all knew its a completely new place half third world half Teesside's. How is this fair? My parents didn't want to live in a foreign country but unfortunately the third world moved to my town and completely changed it. I personally have lived all over the world and i know for sure that them countries wouldn’t have allowed this to happen on the scale our government have allowed. It was unregulated and out of scale for a town of 140,000 to take so many people. Completely changed the place and not for the better of the people living here for generations.

A big problem is a whole network advertising for jobs in Britain and elsewhere. Example is "Clara Immigration" and/or "Job Abrodia" as well as many more. "Clara Immigration" (in accordance to her own video) lives in Northern Ireland, while she keeps advertising Free Visa Jobs in Britain, in Ireland, Sweden, Luxembourg and the list goes on, while filling her own pockets with money and scamming those, who are interested and most likely are very vulnerable. I do not understand why these adverts and channels are not taken down, since they certainly are part of the problems countries are facing! In other words, Britain keeps dumping immigrants they don't want into other countries. Of course "Clara Immigration" will not provide "services" for free and out of the goodness of her heart. Those interested will be paying vast sums of money, though if they were contacting Embassies of these countries first, they certainly would be told what exactly to do and get this information for free. In other words, scammers are in action and nobody is doing anything about it. Why not Police and/or Home Office?
