what a joke. Who did they beat and by how much? BC drove it down their throats on that last drive and they could do nothing but hope for a prayer. Neb was a shell. We ALL saw Neb vs CO.

2019 LSU had the best season in college football history. The 2001 Canes are up there but their schedule was cake that year. They also played the worst FSU team of the Bobby Bowden era and had very close calls with BC and Virginia Tech. I would argue the 2000 Canes were just about as good but get no credit. Their schedule was harder. They played the last great FSU Bobby Bowden team and Washington in Seattle which is a tough place to play plus Spurrier's Gators in the Bowl game. 2001 Miami should have played 2001 UF but they were upset by Tennessee which probably doesn't happen if the game was played when it was originally scheduled in September. (The game was moved due to 9/11). Nebraska was a joke of an opponent in the Rose Bowl having gotten throttled by 32 points versus Colorado that year. How that Nebraska team got in the Rose Bowl is a travesty.

Miami is hall of Fame U. The most dominant team of the 80s and 90s we had the best team in 2001. Frank Gore a hall of famer, Andre Johnsonr, Bryant McKinney, Jeremy Shockey, Ed Reed, all of hall of famers. Sean Taylor will eventually make the hall of fame. Reggie Wayne will get a gold jacket. We are coming back people. Look at our recruiting class this year. Our defensive line is STACKED and we have the 4th best class in the nation in recruiting and probably will finish 1st. We have the coolest helmets and those green jerseys are straight up ballin the U is where it's at.

Their running back room alone, Portis, McGahee, Davenport, Frank Gore, and Jarrett Payton rushed for a combined 36,236 yards, 236 TD’s and 9 Pro Bowls, all but Payton rushed for 500 yards in a season and all but Payton and Davenport rushed for 1,200 yards in a season

That crap call with Notre Dame in 88 and the fiasco in the Fiesta. What was funny in 88 is the fisting irish threatened to stay at home if they were matched against the Hurricanes in a bowl. They knew Jimmy Johnson and the Canes would have curb stomped them in a rematch.

Coker had no business as a head coach of a D1 program, especially a program with the championship pedigree of Miami. I do give him his flowers for guiding that 2001 team to a championship. It's not Cokers fault that those running the program offered poor pay and modest facilities. Giving the keys to the kingdom to the OC without a thorough coaching search was lazy and disappointing. It would have been far more palatable if Coker had become the HC after a true coaching search. Oh well, old history.

@@keithbroussard8945 you are 💯 percent correct, but it's common for young men in the circumstance of the unknown with a replacement coach to favor someone on staff. It's the University's responsibility to have the very best candidate take the job. The "U" has a history of advancing coordinators with little sustainable success ( Butch Davis being the exception). The unfortunate consequence of this practice and, of course, the Golden debacle, is decades of mediocrity. The current challenge is convincing a jaded fan base to be patient while the team is rebuilt and learns how to win. Yes a culture of winning has to be developed, especially with a team that has a culture of losing every big game the past 20 years.
