    My clutch pedal can be firm and all gears are a little more notchy than I'd like.....I'm thinking clutch too. I'm not getting any crunchy gears or any gear that is worse than any other, just too notchy in all gears and clutch pedal feel is not great....maybe time for clutch myself? 101k on the clock, I've done trans oil. Also did your clutch kit come with an alignment spline? Did you have to pre load the new clutch? Or was it just a case of take out old one - put new one on and fit everything back in reverse?

  • @FNLEW

    @FNLEW

    2 жыл бұрын

    I'd have started with the gearbox oil aswell. It didn't come with an alignment spline but my dad just used his fingers to feel around the edged. No preload aswell. Another cheaper thing to try is maybe look at changing your clutch fluid but that's probably too easy a fix.

  • @FNLEW

    @FNLEW

    2 жыл бұрын

    It's something to do with either where the hub meets the lower arm or where the arm pivots from the chassis. Either way it's NOT where the shock is bolted to the hub.

    Confused why you took off the whole gearbox to change the clutch.. usually enough space in a honda engine bay to loosen and push the gearbox aside with enough room to change the clutch kit

  • @FNLEW

    @FNLEW

    3 жыл бұрын

    Definitely not possible in this model. The gearbox is pretty much supported by the engine so once you septate it to replace the clutch it's supported by nothing at all whilst the process is taking place.

    @@HughCStevenson1 Yes I did.. The front round crossmember and the engine mount have to come off (engine supported on something obviously). I can't remember how many bolts thee are - IIRC there are bolts from each side. I had to do it again when the starter motor packed up - it was easier the second time when you know what to do!
