I'm now a book-keeper for a small firm, and I'm not boring. Have I ever told you about my collection of 10,000 bottle tops?

Some may find the "she was asleep at the time" as a suggestion that his wife didn't consent but I think the point was that he is boring at sex and she couldn't keep awake even then. Also, his "ravishing" of the tea-lady (who didn't seem to mind much), rather than an act of assault, was an indication of his boringness, in that even that "spontanious" act was just following the instruction of his boss. Ronnie Barker keeping a straight face shows how good an actor he was.

Glad you made that point in such an articulate way before some of the “Offended by anything and everything types” start complaining.

Yes, that's immediately what I thought. She actually fell asleep during the 'performance of the act'. If the monotonous monologue was anything to go by, the 'canoodling' was sleepworthy in the extreme as well! Even the budgie probably spent much of the time nodding off.

Tysheen, I remember watching the Two Ronnie's as a child in the days of only 3 TV channels in the UK. Nearly half the nation would tune in to watch them on Saturday night prime time tv. Their comedy was pure family entertainment, a rarity these days, nothing crude; they were masters of play on words.

Unlike many todays comedians, they rely on crudeness, and shock, the two ronnies and morecambe and wise never were crude and their comedy stands as the best.

Love your reactions! These two were brilliant, and their counterparts at the same time were Morecambe & Wise - and if you want to see their most magnificent sketch, look for Morecambe & Wise Andre Previn. AP was at the height of his celebrity then, and had no time to practise that sketch - but just look at the orchestra behind for a great reaction.

... the humor of the Brits flies over you head... the best you ought to do is NOT to comment at all... just laugh when the others do... it's safe...

The two Ronnies really do lend themselves to reaction videos because each sketch is individual and you do not need to know the context in order to appreciate it. Situation comedies, on the other hand, are much more difficult to understand without knowing who each character is or what has gone on before in order to get to that particular situation. Good stuff and a lovely reaction.

They were brilliant. They were the masters of word play and use of the English Language to great comic effect. I recommend the mispronunciation sketch with Ronnie Barker. Ronnie Barker had written a quite a lot of the sketches in particular the famous “Four Candles” sketch.

Ronnie Corbett was 4 feet 11 inches. The reference to 2.4 children is because that was the average family size in the 70s and 80s

Observing this reaction it clearly shows how Americans in general focus on the immediate and British character development to paint the picture is completely lost.
