I think that anyone with a brain knows the difference between different conditions. I mean, I can joke about some fat friend and even myself, since I'm obese myself, because it is our fault. I'm one of those who gain weight easily BUT I could manage it, if I wanted to. On the other hand, I would never joke about my mother-in-law, that is beyond obesity, because she has a severe medical condition that prevents her from losing weight without a surgical intervention. Some other people genetically tend to gain weight and put fats all in the wrong places...here Carlin is clearly talking about compulsory, non pathological food consumption. Like mine!

The 80’s had a lot of surreal imagery in music videos. It was just the thing back then. In this case it’s a riddle and you have someone trapped in a riddle made by the Riddler figure. Plus, I have seen the episode of The Twilight Zone your talking about and you are right.

Additionally as to the insistence that you are free. You haven't been free since the Patriot Act. The US authorities can detain you with no charge for 7 days, are under no obligation to tell anyone about it or you and can release you without charge. There's no appeal for this act. No western society in any country would pass a law like this. Free my fat arse....

Called ambulance and we were taken to hospital and full bloods scans etc, held overnight home next day all good. Cost for all of it? $0.00 Two weeks ago I had a heart attack. Ditto as above. Scans, two lots of drugs home next day. Cost? $30 for the taxi home.

This gospel song is very important in my life. Why? At June 5 1975 I met Elvis as a boy of almost 10 years old in Dallas and believe me it was still ELVIS, the man the king you know so when he entered the room I said to him "mister the king" and immediately he replied with "Young man I'm not the king only Jesus Christ is King" and there was also a piano standing there and Elvis sat himself on that piano and he sang the words "if you get discouraged, just remember what to do, Reach out to Jesus, come on Reach out to Jesus, I said Reach out to Jesus, He is reaching out to you" and everybody in the room said AMEN. Now to be honest, it was my first time to hear about Jesus Christ and I believe it was the start for me to become a christian.

This is the real Elvis, with the sideburns and the moves, singing real rockers. Pre '58, when he went into the Army. After he came out he was all cleaned up and the damn "Coronel" made him do all those goofy movies. Watch any songs from those early days and you'll see why he changed the world of music and influenced so many to become performers too (like John Lennon and Paul McCartney and others). They dont call him "The King" for nothing .

I spent 3 years in Europe. Food, bread, coffee & chocolate is better in Europe. People? Women talk to you like an adult in Europe. Not like you're a conquest or social experiment to test out. They're honest. They are not amazed by bullshit like how many fights you've won, how fast your car is, how big your boat is. You're not expected to be an alpha-jerk in Europe. Just be you. You're not auditioning for a part in Europe. It's not a game. If I were still single I wouldn't live in the USA.

Billy Joe actually is not based on a true story. She said it was people's indifference to other people, a lack of empathy was her motivation. Some were insinuating that they were throwing a fetus off the bridge but in the movie that is not what happened. When the mother mentions the preacher, that is significant. If I remember correctly they had gone to the county fair. Billy Joe was upset and was drinking, The preacher had been molesting him. I can't remember what they threw off the bridge, but I think it had something to do with he and the preacher. It was the next day that he got drunk, jumped off the bridge and died. I remember when it was released. It was very popular. Her lyrics, are so precise in their ability for the listener to visualize what she is singing. I mean I could see the back door open with the screen door latched. it was a hot day, probably no air conditioner, sitting around the supper table, the dad was preoccupied with the plowing, I think he hears what the mother is telling him but he has more pressing issues and that Billy Joe was dead and the dad could do nothing about it. I love how she reacts when she sings about her brother and Billy Joe putting a frog down her back at the picture show. The mother notices she isn't eating. The girl is thinking about what Billy Joe told her the day before. In the end, a year passes...life and death continue. Her throwing the flowers into the river and along with the violin strings at the end ,made me think, she knows the mystery but the town folk don't , They have made their assumptions.
