Haha. As someone who did taekwondo for several years, that hurt me. Bowing before stepping on the mat had become such an automatic gesture that I sometimes find myself about to bow simply walking into a room

I accidentally bowed getting off the elevator without noticing bc it just became a reflex and there was a cleaning lady right in front of me. My friend later told me that I had bowed and the lady just looked confused what to do with a child that just bowed to her apparently she awkwardly bowed kinda

@@yammymy just because that's his nationality doesn't mean he can speak it fluently... like if someone's parents were spanish-speaking, that doesn't mean 100% that the person is fluent in spanish because the parents probably never really used it if they (for example) lived in America and wanted "to fit in" so they just spoke English

I was thinking the same thing, trying to figure out in my head if this was pre or post knee surgery. In a lot of the videos made around this time, I'm always so concerned with his knee pain, especially after seeing the knee surgery vid itself.

I watched Ned's knee surgery video first. With that knowledge, I'm watching how he handled those classes. Breaking that board must have been truly satisfying.

That's what you are supposed to do in Taekwondo to respect the classroom, or Dojang. And the bow is what you call a Kinye in Korean.

What is with y'all not being able to leave Eugene alone it comes to him and kids? Every time Eugene even _looks_ at a kid, the comments get flooded with weirdos hoping he'll settle down. There are people who can get along with kids and still not actually want ones of their own, and that shouldn't be as hard to accept as it apparently is for you people. Let the dude live his goddamn life, people. EDIT: on a more positive note, those kids really are adorable

I wouldn't say apathy, since he seemed pretty excited to take care of Ned's kid, buying him an outfit and trying his best to take care of him. He just seems more comfortable as being the cool uncle.

M Fitzburger Eugene literally said he wants to have kids one day. He’s just scared he’ll be a bad dad and that’s a lot of parents natural fear so I don’t think it’s an issue

zach looks like the kind of kid that did karate growing up and was wayyy to into it and he told everyone he met that he did karate

As someone who did taekwondo as well, i found it rly nice to see Eugene’s great form for simple stuf like punches & blocks ☺️ His experience from taekwondo rly shows

I've been doing martial arts for about six years, and bowing at the door has become so ingrained in my mind that I've often accidentally bowed when I was walking into work, into classrooms, even into my bedroom, just out of reflex. Always gets a confused laugh out of people before I explain.

Im just proud that eugene bowed before stepping on the mat. Rrspect ✊

I trained in taekwondo for 8 years (I stopped right before the black belt test, there were other things going on, I could’ve passed though) and I’m *so* glad to see that at least one of them (Eugene) has proper technique for the most part. Lots of memories flooding back with all the Korean commands here, the Pavlov dog in me is standing at attention lmaoo

I forget where it's from, but there's some famous boxer quote that's like that. "Everyone should be punched in the face at least once. Realizing that you aren't made of glass, and that it doesn't hurt as much as you fear it would, is extremely freeing." As someone who's been punched in the face a few times, I recommend it honestly.

I'm not Korean, but have studied the language for several years. I was initially thrown off when I saw Korean flags hanging up in a karate dojo. Then he said it was a Korean form of karate, and I was like, "Okay sure, that sounds like it could actually exist, or at least he learned from a Korean instructor and is honoring him in that way." Then I threw up a little in my mouth every time he used a Korean word.

The way Zach just flinged his arm at 9:54 was hilarious

As a 1st don in taekwondo, I love noticing the small things like Eugene being the only one to bow before stepping in the mat, or kihaping as loud as he can when he punches. I love that they did this and showcased a martial arts from their own experience of it. Also the play acting with the children was a delight 😂
