    God i HATE the fake youtube accent. Why do the channels with the BEST content all put on a ridiculous fake accent that is cancer to listen to? Wtf is wrong with people? Noone in the world talks in this idiotic accent. Noone on tv talks in the ridiculous fake accent with emphasis in all the wrong places- there is a reason for that. Its deeply unpleasant to listen to. You create amazing content so why not just talk like a human?! 👎 👎 👎

    Ngl, The Unknown has to be the funniest thing that AI has produced. Only a machine would decide that a whimsical Roald Dahl story needs a sleep paralysis demon that looks like a shadow from Persona. And only an idiot would take that script at face value and foist it onto the actors. EDIT: Point taken, I guess even the Unknown is still in keeping with Dahl, albeit wrong.

  • @SuperCosmicMutantSquid

They've just had a lot of tweaking and 'training' done to make their output look coherent on a very superficial level. They're good for a cheap laugh and nothing more. I'm a writer but I can tell you the biggest give away if how overblown it sounds. "The magical, the extraordinary, and blah blah blah." It's so over the top. It would make sense for a line or two if the character is doing a bit, but the script had three adjectives almost over and over." So, if you're reading something and it seems to repeat itself too much that's a giveaway. The other is of course the audience interaction like how an audience could interact if you have no idea what they would do.

    ChatGPT can come up with some funny things, the entire concept of the Unknown being one of them, but it's really better as a prompt you gave it because you were bored than as a way to generate books and scripts. I had it generate me an entire 50 page epic of a video game character lost in the Backrooms once because I was bored and it was hilarious. It was funny to read because it came up with some ridiculous scenarios including the character punching a Smiler in the face and being forced to do the Chicken Dance for some reason, but would not have been as funny if I tried to pass this AI generated garbage off as an actual piece of human creativity, though.

  • @matthewmosier8439

    @matthewmosier8439

    @@BrigsbyDowersThe script was not the main problem imo. You can sell a subpar script in a situation like this (opposite of how you can ruin a great script with poor presentation) but it was the visuals which caused the problems. And when I saw those prices on the props website, I realized that this whole idea was toast from the get-go. A single prop costs you 3 admission tickets worth of money. The only way to fix that would have been some clever shrinking of the exibit down into narrow winding pathways (limiting the number of props needed to make the space feel crowded with scenery) and to lower the lights in certain areas at the edges to emphasize the stuff close to the audience and capture the bright atmosphere from the film factory while not emphasizing the sparseness of the decorations further out. Do that, add some music in speakers disguised around and give the actors a couple of days to practice, and you might be able to provide something that people could enjoy. But that would require creativity (that's not an insult of the guy who put it on, I mean it actually would take a person using art to get the most out of a low budget) Using AI for everything pretty much guaranteed that he wasn't in the right mindset to pull this off.

    Thats completely irrelevant to my point.But. Not exactly I would argue. Capitalism rewards innovation. Sure you can get by being lazy in a popular new thing. But not for very long. Someone else who actually innovates is going to get way. way. way more successful than you are. Fortnite revolutionised the battle royale genre by making it more accessible, adding a very unique concept and implementation of building in a third person fps at the time and going with a much more low spec friendly art style over fidelity approach. every game thats come after trying to duplicate aspects of it. have either failed. or will never reach the heights fortnite did. That's video games of course. but its a good example. what we are in now is very much not that. It's big corporations basically making the rules with government. It's not a free market. How we got here is kinda irrelevant. and in fact if you look at alot of spaces like games I'd say the whole "corporations take over" thing is kinda looking pretty incorrect with how hard these big overbloated corporations are falling. going back to ai which is what I was talking about. not capitalism. in fact ai is not at all capitalistic right now in its development considering its mostly just "non profit" funded by super big corps and government inititives and such. just blindly rushing in because fomo. Sure theres some competition. but the result is its not at all something that is being tested in a free market. Its just being funded and made independent of it. like with open ai. Well. That's really all I feel like investing into your point which was admittedly more than I thought I would. I still dont at all get how you wanted to plug this sudden economic debate point into something that was completely irrelevant to my comment. @@LoveTrueMusic1

    Actually the Universal church is an official thing. Crazy as it sounds, they actually even offer services. Like courses on how to properly officiate weddings and etc. Depending on the state, it depends if you need to go too a court to make it recognized by the government. Considering most people use it to officiate weddings for family or friends and to save money. Considering I have family that has a friend, who is a ordained minister officiate a wedding for relatives. Also a state where you need to make it official by a court. But to be fair you can get certificates for anything online.

    This and others like The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster started this very legit program to fight some US states (including until recently my own state of AL) requiring that you had to have an ordained minister to have a wedding ceremony. Even the justice of the peace (the person that performs courthouse weddings) were ordained ministers. Sadly it was only changed because my homophobic government didn't want to have to perform wedding ceremonies for gay people. Now it's just a simple form that the bride, groom, and 2 witnesses sign and you get notarized. Anything else now is just ceremony and/or tradition. So congrats @Slope's Game Room! You are now an ordained minister!

    @wifu2will108 Huh. Thats bizarre. Im not a christian or any other religion and I dont want some minister (even if they are a judge) performing the ceremony. In my state, either an official of any religion (including FSM, Universal life church, or whatever) can officiate, or a judge or magistrate. I paid a judge $100 to witness my and my spouses vows, witness us and our 2 legally required witnesses signing the state marriage certificate, then she signed it and sent it to the state. That part took 30 mins. It was pretty cool.

    @@Not_Alwaysnot ordination, but the marriage itself. Religiously you can of course create any marriage you want - not the governments business - , but for the civil marriage aspect to take effect (taxes etc.), I think religious personnel needs some form of registration, so they‘re two-in-one-ing this thing. Of course it‘s the us, so every state will be different and complicated. 😅 Am I wrong? Over here in Ger there‘s only civil marriage, so religious ceremonies are only relevant for the religion; after that you hop over to the whatever-that-office-is-called, sign a thing in front of a bureaucrat and you‘re legally married.

    I even had a much better description for the Unknown and didn't even use AI: "The unknown use to be one of these Oompa Loompas from what I heard. But he would always be an outcast. Always in the shadows. Rejected from he other Oompa Loompas. I don't even know why. The other Oompa Loompas wouldn't even tell me. whenever I bring it up, they would always ignore me of it or change the topic. Maybe they were to frightened. So, why does the unknown look like this and not like them? A fateful accident happened one night at the factory. A mysterious one. Some say he got stuck and stretched in the Laffey Taffy machine. That's why he looks like this. Other's say he was trapped in the walls. But this unknown, now we call him, is the ghost of that Oompa Loompa. Always roaming the factory and forever trapped."

    The end result looks like a parent trying to put on a spectacular pinterest level party with a days notice, something that on it's own would be bit sad looking but well meaning. But considering it was an event that they were charging money for it's inexcusable! Here in the U.S. we had something called Candytopia which was a pop up event filled with art made of candy mosaics/statues, interactive photo opts, a foam marshmallow ball pit, and treasure chests full of complimentary candy. I think that's what people who were sold this scam were expecting and it's a shame because it was cheaper for people to go to an official event.

    This is such a common tactic for scammers. Theres a woman in Australia who was doing these, kind of sub par events, not delivering on promised entertainment to pocket the costs etc. and eventually she moved to just cancelling the events last minute and claiming reasons that were beyond her control and refusing to refund vendors. I got my money back after putting all her details, including aliases and ABN’s etc up online, but because I never took them down, every so often I hear from someone that she’s doing it in another, state under another name. Disgusting!
