She said “they want to sit next to me and drink with me.” It’s disgusting that Buzzfeed would completely lie and twist this girl’s words to just make this video more interesting. Journalism is dead.

I've been in Japan with some friends and we checked out a maid Café... it was the best evening of the whole trip. It was super weird but funny as hell. It is really a fun place. I just can encourage everyone to at least check it out once.

I've travelled around SE Asia for 30 yrs, since I finished school and was old enough for my own passport. This vid brings back so many memories of situations I found myself in, when things were new, different, or put me in a completely insane comfort zone. Yet somehow a smile, a nod and going with the flow, saw me having the most raucous time. Cringe, laugh, cry all at the same time. It's these experiences that bring smiles to peoples lives, as well as your own. Even when you're just looking back and thinking about it. 👍😉

I love how hardworking these girls are. The dedication is really amazing.

I think that the concept is especially made for people who are very lonely and come there alone to feel in company and get attention as lonelyness is a big problem in japanese society. There are cuddle-cafes as well where you pay for cuddling with a kawaii pyjama girl...

She DOES NOT say that they demand phone numbers and it disturbs her, she just says "sometimes they ask for contact info and that happens often at maid cafes". She also does NOT say anything about sexual stuff She didn't say "Theres some people who mistake it for the sex industry and think they can touch my body'. She said "The misunderstanding is they ask if they can sit with me or drink alcohol with me". Your subs make it seem horrible. Maid cafes are not a sexual place, in Japan we got hooker shops for that. Maid cafes are not even an adult like place, we got kyabakura and host clubs for that. Maid cafes are just a place where you get people to act weird, draw cute cakes and give you cute drinks. Theres 0% sexual about it. Its not any type of dating service either. It is just like if you were to go to a clown themed place where people dress as clowns, or a monster cafe where people dress like monsters. It is a themed cafe.

I went to Maidreamin when I visited Tokyo for my first time. It was actually quite fun and enjoyed the whole experience. I was not going to go but I figured I might as well see what its all about. The Maids were really nice and respectful and they looked like they were having fun doing the singing and shows while the customers were also enjoying the shows. The food wasn't top notch but it was still good and the Maids with their cheerful energy made it all fun. Would definitely recommend to visit at least once to experience it. You are able to select show/songs from Anime to Jpop to other genre's.

There are some like that one, the ones like these ( pink and anime like) are more popular. You can find more traditional ones like in that anime. You can Google it, there are over 200 maid cafés in Japan, so you'll find one you'll like!

I liked the interview aspect!

MioChan It depends, I actually work at a Butler Cafè and the food is kinda good, but we mainly serve japanese food, not sweets, on a side note in many Maid Cafes I visited the food was really good.

They are so cute 😌❤ They seem to take this job very seriously and people should visit the place with respect and enjoy the magic of a happy friendly service

If you have noticed enough, these cafes are actually good places for children as the staff is really sweet and polite and also can dance and sing

Fair enough for Japan who work 100 hours per week or at least I could say 15 hours per day. Beside, it is a maid café not a office workplace.

it is! Most girls working in these places are college or university students. One of the girls in this vid said they were all college students. Its probably way better than working at McDonalds or Burger King

Yeah, if i were in Japan I would honestly really want this job during school. It has a super positive vibe and u get to sing, dance, and act cute. I think it's great and interesting

I think the reason why they chose this job is, yeah, let's say it's fun but it's probably one of the only jobs that let you have a schedule that suits your school schedules.

My friend's sister had this job in Japan and I think it's a very good job if you don't have time and your schedule isn't working as a high schooler it was easy for her to get this job so that's why they got this job

When I was stationed in Japan the maid cafe was a monthly adventure for my self and my son he was 10. They had the best sweets and it was a blast the young ladies where so professional and sweet.

After finished watching anime Kachou wa maid sama... here i am, expecting to see another Misaki chan... and im not disappointed... will travel to japan one fine day...

these girls are literally waitresses, entertainer, singer, dancer and COLLEGE STUDENTS. they're just amazing people who wants to put a smile on people's faces. すごいね~
