Having used Vokey wedges for decades, I tried to switch last year testing other manufacturers. Suffice to say I have SM10 in the bag, Vokey is number one for good reason

Great discussion. Thank you. The challenge is always finding a fitter who will actual spend quality time with a rank amateur. 5-15 handicap players who want to get better.

The reason fitters are so hard to find is the lack of training. I’ve been playing golf for 45 years and have been involved in golf equipment and yet never have had proper training or explanation to fit properly, including myself.

I'm a fairly knowledgeable golfer and there is excellent information for the recreational golfer here. I used to play a 54° V Grind and a 58° Low Bounce K Grind. Unfortunately the 54° V can't be replaced currently, so I went to a 54° S Grind and a 58° T Grind (both SM9) last year. I play in Southern California so generally Firm and Dry conditions. Anyway, GREAT Video and a nice switch up to seeing "someone else" hitting Wedges in a "Fitting Video." Thanks.

Wow, when I get fit this year, I'll definitely try a bunch of different Vokey grinds. I started off with Vokey some years ago and I like them, so I'll probably stay with them. Thanks for educating us on Grinds and the type of conditins many of them are best for. IN my neck of the woods (Phoenix/Scottsdale area), it looks like T and M grinds might be best. Cheers.

I don't want to speak for your fitter, but while course conditions are an important part of the fitting process, your swing always travels with you - meaning, that I tend to be shallow with my wedges and that's always going to be the case no matter where I play....If you're AOA is steep, T or M might not be the best...but if you're shallow and have firm turf, it's pretty much made for the T/M situation

Understood, I will definitely rely on the fitter. I was just reiterating what the Vokey guy said about playing on firm turf: that the T and M grinds might be best for these types of turf, which certainly is most of Phoenix/Scottsdale courses. Cheers

Having never used Vokey wedges for decades, after testing for the first time, I feel embarrassed for not experimenting at the very least…. I had instant satisfaction with my experimentation. Now the problem is getting properly fit for all the different grinds and the fitters that are available or not trained properly in my opinion, and the cost of a fitting should be obsolete if you want us to play your product. What we pay for golf equipment nowadays the fitting should be included.

Great episode! 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼🫱🏻‍🫲🏼 Audio was great for an off-site interview 👍🏼 Very informative as well. Whether Vokey is your favorite wedge or not. Only suggestion is to adjust the title or thumbnail to make it more obvious that this is a podcast with Titleist designers and not just the normal format. Might help drive new traffic to click on this video that may not be regulars for your typical podcast. I was pleasently surprised to see this is a podcast/interview with Vokey designers. Might bring more eyes if its more obvious before they click

K is now 14°, so order a 58° and have it Delofted 02° to 56°. This will also reduce Bounce to 12°.

I have ordered pitching and gap wedges through my pro shop with shafts to match my irons. I also now have Nippon Steel wedge shafts in my sand and lob wedges. I would check through a pro shop for a special order. Never hurts to ask.

Fitting Fees are usually applied to Purchase Costs, if you order at the end of the Fitting. The Fee is just to keep the "Tire Kickers" out of the Fitting Bays.

Until they offer a wedge with full face grooves they are eliminated from my consideration. In this day and age they are doing a disservice to the average golfer by not offering them as it offers an advantage to the average golfer . I'm 71 years old and feel they are out of touch with me and others in my age group that will spend the money. As a matter of fact when I was looking at new clubs last year I didn't even look at the Titlelist clubs. All other major manufacturers do offer them. I played Vockey's until the sm8 then I tried full face grooves and it was world changing! They seem too focused on the Tour pros who don't pay for clubs, we do so they need to listen the people paying the bills! I carry 6 wedges.

When I open the face there's no grooves on most of the face. I don't understand why they don't offer them after all the customer is right and the others seem have gotten the message! I'm playing the TM HiToe and made big difference in consistency. What is the disadvantage of them? Everything I heard was about the tour pros nothing about us average golfers! @@GolfSpyC

@@jamesm4603 6 wedges? That's wild! But unless you have 18 clubs, I can't see a reason for more than 3-4. That said, if the only shot you play with your highest lofted wedge is an open-face one, I can see where you're coming from. But how often are most golfers hitting that shot? Also, rough numbers but let's say that from the heel-side edge of the scoring line all the way to the toe (Vokey SM10) is 2 3/4" in length...the part w/o grooves is at most 3/8" wide - so, I have to wonder how often golfers are actually making contact in this extreme toe area
