among other things, he claimed to have participated in sit-ins, to have marched along Black activists and to have been arrested for his activitism; none of this was true and during his Congress career he was noted for openly sympathizing and negotiating with racist lawmakers to the point that he supported segregation and Jim Crow, publicly worrying desegregation could end and his grandchildren would grow in "a racial jungle" -The day after becoming Vice President his deadbeat brother Jim showed up to work wearing cufflinks with the Presidential seal and arrogantly insulting his coworkers while openly boasting about being the Vice President's brother -Was also accused of rape and sexual harassment by his Congressional aide Tara Reade;
