At the top of the Moki Dugway driving up, take the dirt road to the left out to Muley Point. You get a view with the San Juan River Goosenecks below you and Monument Valley in the background. It's about 5 miles out on a partly washboard road. I've done it in a car and is definitely worth the time.

We just made the drive down on this road. We are doing the Mighty Five. We had no idea the road even existed. It was a surprise. And , it was a bit scary!

I ran into this the other night on my way to Tuscon, I came from price and just plugged it into maps and away I went, came to the end of the payment and on to dirt road at a 12-15% decline, had me crapping a little. When I got to the bottom, it was a bit of a relief. Lol

I just hit the Dugway several days ago, going up: pavement suddenly ended and we chickened out. Apple Maps sent us that way; and Siri got annoyed when we turned around! We went the long way around. Thanks for the video; I’ll try it next time!

Excellent video. I had to share to my FB. A riding brother took me downhill here in our HD baggers. the ride was exhilarating.

Just went down this a few days ago by accident. Going from Natural Bridges NM to Monument Valley it was the direct route. Even with the initial warning sign I had no idea what was coming. Cresting the edge of the mesa and seeing nothing but 1200 foot cliffs and a gravel road was a shock and intense. My wife loved the views. I just focused on the road, about 7mph the whole way down. Glad I did it, but no hurry to do it again.

The views from the top are amazing. The road itself is not that dangerous as some might describe it. It is not that steep and reasonably wide, just take it easy and you are gonna be fine.

I drove it about a year and a half ago. It was a pleasant surprise. Once on top, the drive to Hanksville was very scenic too.

I just became acquainted with what you do and I thank you for this. every year I set out on a road trip from California and I head east avoiding the interstates the majority of the time and not knowing where I’m going or what I will be seeing, taking about 4 to 6 weeks to get it completed and I am going to make this location part of my journey this year thank you so much for sharing this

Last May ('23) I drove west from Minnesota on a 2 week "I wonder where this road goes?" Great way to do a trip, btw. The Moki Dugway, Muley Point, Valley of Gods and Monument Valley is what I found. That's a trip I would do again!✌️

Thank you for posting this, it’s so nice to see when you’re not the one doing the driving, I first drove it more than 15 years ago and it was way more rough and narrow, then about 5 years later and there were improvements but now it’s a decent dirt road still requiring slow speed and full driving attention, it’s remarkable it looks so good after this winters storms.

It is a beautiful drive up or down. Nothing to be scared of. Just a twisting winding road with some fairly steep gradient to it. As long as you keep your vehicle on the road, everything is just fine.

we took this shortcut to get to the arches monument park. i loved it. My wife was doing breathing excercises similar to when she gave birth and promised to "cut me" if I did this on purpose to her. Lucky for me she believed it was a gps short cut error and I promised on my live never to do this to her again!

Discovered this by accident AT NIGHT back in 2014 trying to cut the time from Natural Bridges to Phoenix. It's fun at night too. If you want a demonstration of how fast to NOT go down this, adjust the speed of the video to x2. 😂
