He's properly rated by rational NBA fans, Jordan stans try to make it seem like he never missed, didn't ever have an off night, that Pippen was nothing more than a glorified role player, or that his Washington Wizards tenure was amazing. Bron stans try to use false narratives like giving Scottie Pippen too much credit or saying he was a failure because of his early playoff losses to discredit Jordan and elevate LeBron.

I feel many younger fans are falling into one of two traps: simple fomo bias that they didn't see him play, they didn't witness things live- so how could they be better than what they've seen? Also, the generalized assumption that everything gets better with time- which is true (mostly) with technology and on a metal level with the floor of overall league skill- but just doesn't apply to individual players.

After Jordan retired in 1993 he completely changed his exercise regimen to optimize his body for playing baseball. With age Jordan would have begun to lose his athleticism, but he was never going to get back to his 1993 level after changing his workout routine for two years. Jordan still had hops and speed, but he was much more mid range focused on offense and chose his spots to go to the rim.

MJ destroys everyone with Stats and analytics. Cool give lebron longevity stats it’s impressive but prime wise and killer mentality plus everything else it’s not even close. They refuse to look at and even watch or listen to what’s being said. Also the media on TV gives the same ol stuff for MJ that can be touched a bit. When digging deeper into stats and analytics you’ll see what’s what. You’d have to combine 20 or more videos on KZread to get it all bc I’ve never seen one person touch all of it. I don’t blame them either bc it would be a 5-10 hour video. One is basically owning almost 20% of the top 100 games ever played by a player. They simply don’t get it and will never get it. There’s so much and it doesn’t even include the eye test

Also, playing 60 and fewer games over 10 + years while playing minimal to zero defense over that same lengthy period is NOT true longevity. Plus you add in the alleged era obvious PEDS and Lebron is nothing more that league aided smoke and mirrors. His game is also extremely basic and his clutch gene disappears in the playoffs 9-10 times. Can’t say any of that with MJ. I watched it all in real time just as I did with Lebron. There is no comparison in any aspect of b-ball. MJ gave us 15 years of his best on both ends of the court and win 6 chips and countless accolades against the toughest, real b-ball league of all time. Lebron gave us smoke and mirrors, analytics that was used to fool the masses into not believing what they saw, in a watered down, exhibition level league that he couldn’t even dominate.

You know that Michael Jordan is easily the greatest and best basketball player of ALL-TIME because now in 2024, 21 years after his retirement in 2003, we are still having very deep discussions and very serious meticulous conversations about Michael Jordan’s near-perfect career in Chicago. Even that Nick Wright dude and Shannon Sharpe spend much more time in their respective lives talking, discussing, conversing, arguing, and debating about Michael Jordan’s near-perfect career in Chicago than they spend time talking about their favorite player’s career - LeBron James. Michael Jeffrey Jordan is on the Mount Rushmore of American professional sports, so Michael Jordan is VERY EASILY the greatest and best basketball player in human history. In fact calling Michael Jordan the GOAT of professional basketball is honestly a gross understatement at this point. Michael Jordan has been the undisputed GOAT of the NBA since 1988 (for 36 years and counting) and all GOAT debates have been far beneath Michael Jeffrey Jordan since 1998 (for 26 years and counting).

More revisionist history on display. The whole "Magic and the Lakers were washed" argument has never been grounded in facts. The Lakers dominated the West playoffs. Magic was 2nd in MVP voting in 1991. He retired because of HIV, not because he was declining. Nobody on that team was old. Kareem had retired, but I'd argue Divac was as good as a 41 year old Kareem. The Lakers were favored by most to beat the Bulls. Magic had 5 Championships and 9 Finals appearances. Jordan was making his first Finals appearance. So of course people favored the Lakers.

Jordan literally played most of his career without help, and then he got Pippen at one point and Pippen was already enough for six rings. LeBron has Davis, who is a better player than him, defensively and offensively, and he can't win a ring. Like come on. Why is this still a debate? Just let it end. I mean he made the all defensive first team in 9 of his 10 scoring title seasons, led the league in steals 3 times in those scoring title seasons, and won a DPOTY in one as well. He’s STILL the only player in history ro record 200 steals, 100 blocks, and get 3,000 pts in one season as well, and that was over 30 years ago. He’s also still the only player in history to have 34/8/8/2/1.5 in a full season too. He also still has records for highest PER in history in the regular season, playoffs, and Finals. Not to mention during the champagne celebration, pippen literally said to the reporter, "after game 2, the game plan was to stick with Michael guarding magic the rest of the series". These narratives they make up to knock Mike is nauseating. And as weird as this may sound, the more you dig deeper into his career, stats and accomplishments, you kind of realize he's actually underrated and been just reduced to this guy who only went 6-0 in the finals that was just a one dimensional offensive player. When debating the NBA’s GOAT, it’s crucial to put things into perspective, especially when comparing LeBron James to Michael Jordan and considering the positions they played. Even if we set aside Jordan’s numerous accomplishments, which alone surpass James’ career, Jordan’s performance metrics as a shooting guard (SG) still place him far above James as a small forward (SF). Here are Jordan’s all-time per-game rankings at SG: • Points Per Game (PPG): 1st • Field Goal Percentage (FG%): 9th • Rebounds (Rebs): 3rd • Assists: 6th • Steals: 2nd • Blocks: 1st In comparison, here are James’ all-time per-game rankings at SF: • Points Per Game (PPG): 2nd • Field Goal Percentage (FG%): 19th • Rebounds (Rebs): 6th • Assists: 1st • Steals: 9th • Blocks: 14th Jordan’s dominance across multiple statistical categories as an SG demonstrates his superior impact on the game, solidifying his status as the greatest of all time.

This “series shifted with Pippen guarding Magic” bullshit - it’s exactly that - bullshit. Look at Pippen/Grant/Paxson/Cartwright shooting game 1 - then look at game 2. That was the difference. Game 1 was a team that didn’t handle the moment of their first NBA finals game. Game 2 was a different story. 2 - as was pointed out in this video - Jordan mostly guarded Magic not Pippen. 3 - yes Magic had a triple double game 1 - look at Magic’s stats and where those stats came from. Look at who Magic scored against in game 1. I’m pretty sure only 1 if his field goals actually came against Jordan. What would Magic getting a triple double even mean anyway? Was Magic guarding Jordan? No - Magic was closer to the basket…. Getting rebounds…. Which has 0 to do with Jordan. My last point - Sharpe was obviously trying to shit on Jordan in an MJ/Bron debate. That’s how it is - so I’ll mention Lebron…. How often has he guarded the best player? And when he does how often do they perform better when guarded by Bron? We’ve seen KD win 2 finals MVP’s exploding when guarded by Lebron (and to be fair Lebron wasn’t always guarding him - so which is it? Did KD torch Lebron? Or did Lebron need someone else to guard the best player?? Probably a bit if both) we saw dead set doleplayers in Iggy & Kawhi win finals MVP going against Lebron. Shit we saw Tony Parker have his best NBA finals 2007 when guarded by Lebron often - winning finals MVP. Even if Pippen guarded Magic (which again isn’t true) Lebron has either had someone else guard the best player - or get smoked trying to guard the best player
