I hope it actually gets made. It's legit one of the most gorgeous low poly 3D games and the UI design is amazingly minimal and refreshing. I see so many incredible details indicating the talent of devs team that I don't believe it's a scam, at least not intentional in the beginning. It may run into development hell at some point or a major investor pull out, idk, but I hope to see it done one day.

I gave this game $100 in 2015 for the kickstarter. It's burned me so bad I've never kickstarted anything else.

@@DR3ADER1 Without crowdfundeding we would not have games like Divinity original sin 2 and in turn BG3 hollow knight, undertale, kingdom come, elite dangerous, pillars of eternity and both pathfinder games just to name a few. Saying to never back something is just stupid.

Even if they can't make a game, they're obviously skilled at creating great trailers. If you can't make the systems work, make some kind if show out of it. Non interactive media always seems to feel constrained by certain templates, when we really could be pushing the boundaries between a game and traditional shows/movies. People already passively watch others play games, why not lean into that when thinking how to structure new narrative forms?

You think so? I personally feel that most modern games are way more constrained by their templates and are scared to do new things. Most of them are just 3rd person rpgs with cutscenes between killing enemies.

Came to this video after seeing the official game update video that came out a few days ago - I just heard about this game yesterday and things are looking promising - I hope there’s a feeling of relief for everyone that’s been waiting!

For those who haven’t followed the Reddit for years this, recently one of the past workers shared screenshots of levels to showcase their work portfolio. Some of us assume they either finished their work and moved on or the game dies so they’re looking for new work. I know it’s not much and doesn’t do anything to help those who are excited for it but it is the latest bit of SOME news we’ve gotten

Sony has listed it in the store as Coming Soon about 6 or so months ago.

I think the game is in deep development, from the trailer, it seemed like they already knew what their gameplay would be like, and what most of their enemies would be like, I just feel like they want to live up to what they said the game would be, they want to impress us, they don’t want to promise something and not do it, like with the original release date, so they are working heavy on it, not letting anyone peak as to ruin their moods or drive of making the game, I feel like it will one out late 2024 or we will see a trailer for it soon.

All the previews for this game look like they just animated a scene with characters and then comped some ui over it. I think they made this sales pitch, got funding and have now spent all their runway without actually making anything payable.

I don't know much about this game, but it looks great. Like the style and the genre for it. However, my guess is $300k is nowhere near enough to bring this to the finish line and they ran out of money and, for whatever reason, don't have enough additional backing from Sony or other investors, if any. It looks ambitious, which would be great, but I'd guess it would need a lot more than $300k.

Hope this game eventually comes out.

Regardless of game completion status, they should be communicating with backers at the very least. This tells me that they either rebuilt the game from the ground up due to issues and are remaining silent on the matter until they can provide a more stable end result, or they over promised, realized they couldn't deliver and are creeping back into the shadows whence they came. Either way, a disappointing result from a fantastic looking premise.

Man, I’m soooo hyped for Crimson Dessert and DokeV, I didn’t know they were by the same developer, they both look like gameplay first openworld sandbox games, one of my favorite type of games

8 years in "development".... I guess they wanted the playerbase mature, like 40 years old with kids and back pains mature.

My assumption is that they went way over budget from what they earned off of Kickstarter and so they went crawling to Sony for cash and while they did get some it still wasn't enough so the game is sitting unfinished until they can get more funding which is proving impossible due to them going wildly overbudget and missing deadlines massively twice. This sort of thing happens actually fairly often with Kickstarter games. Little Devil Inside is really only special in this regard in that it got a big company to push for them when usually the others fizzle out to like 2000 supporters and that's it.

Can you believe this game was the main reason why I bought a PS5 and also Deep down was the main reason why I bought a PS4. 😅

UPDATE: the devs just released a new video and a new email about the game!!!!

I don't think it was fake, but I also don't know if it'll ever get finished and release. Obviously it got stuck in some kind of development hell, probably from the more open world direction. They've shown too much and had Sony backing and support to make me think it was a scam though.

Who knows. All that footage could have been cut scenes recorded from the game's engine, and they probably don't even have a playable demo...

Probably in development hell, personal issues/conflicting views, or covid might have thrown things off. If it goes down it goes down...ucks to see especially with games like these that look like they shake up the formula a bit, but there will always be more to come.

I've been a part of two Kickstarter games and one console. I got a PC game called Woofle: The Red Hood Diaries. Mighty No. 9 and an OUYA. I don't Kickstart any projects anymore.

Looking back at playstation history with indie developers post No Man Sky's i think they're more than willing to give them the time they need to polish things up (Journey was delayed several years to) I'm not trying to say this whole situation doesn't suck ass for players, specially those whom backed this project more than 7 years ago, but trying to see this through the perspective of devs that had their project picked up by a major publisher in the meantime of their production scale it makes sense looking back at other great games that suffered similar problems. This is not a garante of the game being good though, but it's a expected outcome in my opinion.

I was looking forward to this game and this one game that was supposed to come out named beyond good and evil 2 and I feel it was a scam because every ambitious game always ends up not coming out Or comes out being a mess which sucks

I was interested in it since it started on KS but i never backed it because a couple of things seemed fishy. Im still interested in the game, but i dont think its coming at this point. Also, I wouldnt say just because it was announced as a Sony exclusity deal means Playstation is pushing for them to release it because they also had one with Capcom for Deep Down which was supposed to be a launch title for Ps4 and turned into vaporware with even the execs at Sony having no idea what happened and seemingly not caring. And its Capcom of all people. A giant in the industry thats released hundreds of games on the Ps4 and Ps5 since. As to why I originally thought it was fishy and never backed...too many things just never added up. For one, they are a studio based in Korea but were asking for money in AU. Maybe it was a tactic since the AU was stronger than the Won and they planned to get more out of it that way then transfer it to their studio in Korea but who knows. Plus, whenever you look up info on Neostream, multiple things line up. One by a company also called Neostream Interactive thay was founded in 1998. Another called Neostream Interactive that was founded in 2018, 3 yrs after the KS. Then theres this Neostream Interactive. It was just too weird

What kinda gives me hope is the sponsorship from SONY... This fact alone should make them atleast announce if they stopped developing, since there is also SONY's reputation kinda in play... Giving an exlusivity and advertisment to a failed product isn't very good to any kind of company, big or small...

I have hopes this game will see the light of day. It broke my heart that Deep Down never got to release.😢 First and only knight game where you truly felt like a knight fighting a fire-breathing dragon. That was the introduction game for the ps4. Remember the dark sorcerer? 😭

I feel the same way about Deep Down, but on the bright side Capcom is going to release Dragon's Dogma 2 which is pretty similar but less restrictive.

This game seems really ambitions I would be surprised if the game description doesnt match the finished product... If it releases

Genuine question. Is it true this is a computer generated voice? I had noticed for a while that multiple youtube channels like this have the exact same monotone British voice but then someone pointed it out rip me and told me it wasn’t a real human voice. It makes too much sense. I really don’t know this channel and where it falls in the indie-farm spectrum but at this point I wouldn’t be surprised

I dont think its a scam. The fact is most people dont understand that games are harder to make than what people think. I think the devs have probably hit some hitches in production. I dont think Sony would put a scam on their Sony State of play or put them on their official KZread page etc, If the devs were that sketchy.

They already had Sony on board 2-3 years ago, but it seems like they squandered whatever they got out of the deal. There was a new trailer for a State of Play, then nothing - for years. They already had a chance and fucked it up. either out of incompetence or because Sony realized it was a scam all along, and now nobody can get a peep out of the developers.

My gf and I were looking forward to this. Game seems like flat out vaporware.

Yeah there was a controversy with ppl saying it was racist so they changed the tribe enemies but thats the last actual update i remember about the game

Been waiting ever since 2015. Gave up hope a while ago.

They should have sold the game rights cheap to Sony, that way Sony could have finished the product.

I don't think it's a scam. The fact Sony showed it in their showcase is most likely enough proof that the game at least existed. But the devs probably couldn't turn the game into a real thing, so they slowly dissappeared in hopes people would forget about them. They should give the money back to the backers at least, but we all know that will never happen.

Got the ps5 cuz this game looked cool...but oh boy has it been so long.

As a backer I was incredibly upset to see this game pop up in the Playstation showcase as an "exclusive". Zero updates or communication from the devs and COVID can't even be blamed for it. Switching engines, getting additional funding and the the Playstation exclusivity, all feels like scam. At least say something to the backers or the community, show some interaction, but nope

Dang I really like the art direction. Such a waste if this game will not finish.

Even if it does get made, I would say it is still a scam. Failing to deliver any product a decade after selling it to someone is scamming them.
