According to their own post it was in development hell. Or more like that their company was a mess after the team grew too big and they had to restructure into a smaller more focused team.

​@Moshugaani sometimes, to many cooks, mess up the dish. More is not always better. And for such a game they had to take only the ones that have passion and give everything to it. Real happy to have an update on this game. Really forgot about the game, only remembered after a few minutes of watching.

@@balintszollarAt this point. You might be right. Chances are, ubisoft will just end up making bge2 a multiplayer with customizable spaceships, but without single-player campaign. Kind of like Skull and bones.

Someone please give these guys a studio or money or support because I've been waiting for this game forever and it looks AWESOME!

They had a very succesful Kickstarter campaign and they formed a company. Apparently they had poor management skills or there were too many strong willed employees that wanted to take the project into different directions. So because they had these internal issues in the company and they could agree on a direction, it prolonged the development of the game and here we are over 9 years later. That much I gleaned from their update post on their Kickstarter page!

@@Varengo85 Why not? It could be that they wasted multiple years with no actual progress made if their company was a mess. The post sounds like their company was disbanded at some point and later they formed a smaller team with more focus. But who knows. The final product might be on the level of The Day Before despite the cool trailers. But if they were scammers you'd think they'd have tried getting even more funding during these 9 years? Assuming they're sincere at all, what they should have done is be more transparent about the development and company issues. Kickstarter should impose a mandate that projects should give no less than monthly update on the progress.

@@jinraigami3349 I'm no expert at game development but I'm sure that's not how it works. It takes a lot of work and decision-making to put a UI into place. But it looks great, and Below was a great game, so I encourage it strongly :)

@@Kameleonicamong the tons of sounds and tunes that get thrown at us it came out as something that caught my attention immediately, being beautiful and particular, hence it did that in an exceptional way. And why would it not be a soundtrack? Maybe it wasn't written to accompany something else? Still it has the right characteristics and fits the role perfectly.

Incredible visual style! This game will be a hit if ever released. For some reason reminds me of a visual style of Mini Gore 2, a game from the past on iOS and a little bit of Little Big Adventure.

Looks like you have been busy. There's so much neat stuff I don't even know where to start. I just hope as few things as possible end up on the cutting floor because I want to consume it all.

The animations of that big red bird thing looks almost exactly like the animations from monster hunter world for the puki puki, its amazing how well they pulled those animations off

It's good to know that this game is still alive. Hope to see more gameplay

The platforms are Windows, Xbox, Switch and PlayStation. Don't know why only that Sony thing is mentioned. You can also see the Xbox controller prompts during the gameplay...

The art looks amazing! Like looking down at a model railroad town full of life.

Terrific to see new footage on this game that has a wonderful style. But I miss the character piece bouncing on the world map, now it looks like the character is walking/striding through the world map. It's more charming if the world map shows everyone as those adorable bouncing pieces :)

Clean out of combat animations in games are so underated, it looks amazing.

I wonder if the camera will be able to move around looking around the landscape instead of it being fixed at a certain angle only. Overall, been waiting for this game.

It looks amazing and genuinely fresh. So many design choices that tickle the brain just so. It seems like an interesting mix of story, combat, and survival.. could be a tough mix and finding that balance might be part of why this game has taken so long, especially since it seems like it might be quite a large game. Either way, I am pulling for the Enfant Terrible team, because they really have the moldings of a masterpiece and if they can get it right, it will be a beautiful, beautiful thing.

This looks pretty good. It gives me a mount and blade feeling. Because of the style and gameplay I think a game like this to succeed it needs good and captivating story right out of the bat otherwise it will get boring before even playing.
