I'm a 61 year old grandma ARMY from the USA. I love BTS. Every one of them are kind and caring and have worked extremely hard from a very young age to perfect their craft. Even though they are currently serving in the military they made sure to prepare for their absence by giving us amazing music and content! That being said....V's accent is adorable, and I love to just listen to his voice...its so smooth and calming...... and JK could care less what people think about him cooking....He is going to do what he wants and people should realize that by now.....Jimin's stage presence is cute and sweet, but has an inner strength that people fail to realize ......People are evidently so bored and have nothing better to do with their lives than find fault with others and start ridiculous protests just to draw attention to themselves. Thank you for defending the guys!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I’m a native English speaker and a university graduate who studied English and I don’t find any problems with V’s pronunciation. In singing even native speakers don’t articulate with 100% accuracy, in order to express the emotion or rhythm of the song. As always, I really enjoy your analysis and admire your ability to address issues both rationally and with great empathy. It’s always great to listen to someone who doesn’t see debate as a zero sum game. Thank you.

At least Taehyung is speaking and singing English which I think is a great treat for all English speakers. I can't speak Korean nor would I attempt it because I would butcher the language. He has the courage to do it. As for their military careers, there's no easy career or job. Any military chef( I refuse to call them cooks) knows what they do. I have seen them in action. Try cooking for hundreds of soldiers. Yes it's not a picnic. Or a military banquet. Kudos to the military chefs! America is not boycotting anything. I saw some former Korean Military guys comment on how much they respect JK for doing the Army Chef route because it's insanely strenuous and the hours are longer and you have to wake-up crazy early. They also said that what makes them respect him more is that as a famous idol, he could've done any other job suited for idols but chose to cook instead.

VERY WELL SAID. I agree 💯 MY OPINION: The boys need to be left alone. Internacional army CANNOT control what goes on in Korea, simple, or a company for that matter. We army ARE FANS, we do not get to tell a CEO who to employ or fire or what to do in their company. People/army need to understand that we began this journey with BTS because of their music, nothing else. So we don’t get to tell BTS/Hybe what to do or how they should react to world issues. Period.

First off, don't generalize us. Most of us do understand but others are just people frustrated about their own life. And there are still those who are too emotional attached to them and BTS going to the military is like pulling the rug from their feet. I know it comes off as toxic at times, but it's not their fault. If they knew how to control the feeling, they would. I understand your side but I also understand theirs. You shouldn't be so judgemental of international Army. Be open to both sides even if you don't agree with things. Everything has multiple sides. It's only one year. While to some of us is not then of the world, to others that’s what feels like. I was upset at first but we Portuguese have a saying: “Accept it, it hurts less”. So I Accept the the truth. I’m ok with it. Just focusing on my own things while I’m waiting for them.

As an American and native English speaker, I rarely have trouble understanding what Tae is saying in his songs. He does have a thick Korean accent but I think it gives his music this unique Konglish vibe that I find quite charming and appealing to the ears. BTS didn't become worldwide superstars and record-smashers by completely conforming to everyone's expectations and being perceived as "perfect". I hope they never lose their distinctive and special sound.

Hey! Jung CAN cook!!! I’m not surprised in the least, because he enjoys it a lot and he’s good at it. He himself said that one thing he is not good at is concentrating on things he isn’t interested in, so why should he spend his military service torturing himself doing something that “looks good on paper” and “sounds impressive” but is boring or unfulfilling. He will gain lots of new skills to add to what he has already acquired; he may want to be a restaurant owner in the future, who knows? At any rate I’m like you, let them do their service in peace, doing things they are good at or that interests them, and come back healthy and well.💜 And really, there are PLENTY of native-born English speakers that have trash pronunciation!😂 Singing or speaking! V sounds GREAT and I’m incredibly proud of all of them. His song is fantastic, and jealous haters are just going to find a reason to hate; even when the reason is no reason at all!

Recently, I saw a comment that JK was cooking like a girl. I was surprised to hear that comment. There are many male chefs/cooks in this world. I think the military tries to match skills and interests of soldiers when assigning them. Jk said he likes to learn new things and he is good at cooking. It would not surprise me if he doesn’t open a restaurant or have a cooking show after getting out of the military. I'm very proud of all of the 7 brothers. All of the guys work very hard at learning English and I am honored to hear them speak. I wish I could do half as well speaking Korean . (I’ve been studying for 2 years). I don’t understand sending trucks to Hybe. It seems that money could be spent helping the needs of the community where these people live. The acts are not going to change Hybe's decisions. I'm sorry that you got such a hateful response when dealing with the person who asked you to participate with the protest. You handled it so well. I will remember that. Thank you so much for addressing these topics.

Personally? About the trucks? I think it is - at least sometimes - a scam. Sidle up next to insecure solos/young insecure fans and tell them X is misstreated/Y is damaging X chance/reputation and you have to do something about it. Suggest a truck than you know how to hire - collect money - set a goal higher than needed and you can do it again. I found that time where the trucks vaguly refered to treat a member better without saying which one highly entertaining: Did the hirerer goad multiple solo groups into paying? As far as I can tell the trucks actually archieve nothing. You are absolutly right: Donating the money to organizations like "Doctors without Borders" or the OneInAnArmy Donation drive for "Palestine" is far more helpful. Trying to change the "Bord of Directors" of an International company because you do not "like" them is ridiculous - it's not a popularity contest. (In this case it also feeds into Antisemitic/world conspiracies that can lead to very dangerous things while not even actively helping anyone)

I'm shocked they are doing that to V such childish behaviour, do they expect him to have perfect English and do they want him to sound like an American or a Brit or a Aussie or a South African as English is the national Language of all those countries and many more and they all sound and different have some variations in the way they say certain words. His English is easy to understand the fact that he's even trying to communicate in a language that's not his own native tongue is something most people wouldn't even attempt to do. Can't they give praise for that at least. I understand a number of languages but I don't find it easy to speak them but never has anyone got all upperty because I have difficulties when communicating in another language. Some people really do need to re evaluate their own lives first. There are too many people out there who will nitpick at anyone they don't like rather than move on. I feel sorry for them as they are clearly unhappy people with nothing better to do.

The people spreading negativity don't even really matter do they? Why do their opinions matter so much to ARMY? Nobody can really insult you if you know what the truth is. If they start to do it and you don't react it actually says to them...your opinion doesn't really matter to me. You can think what you like. It doesn't affect me either way. honestly its a very small section thats very loud that pushes these agendas and it has not affected BTS anyway because these people were never the ones that were truly supporting them in the first place anyway and seeing how its not affecting anything hurts their ego more. Best is to simply ignore. Targeting POC artists on the other end of the world who have nothing to do with any of these serious issues just because of somebody in their agency who is not even directly working for their label bighit just to feel morally superior shows how some people really need to go out and see the real world not to mention that they are literally serving their military. if your activism starts and ends with a musical artist then its high time you reevaluate your self.

Boycotts very rarely succeed, and in this case, it's useless. Thankfully, all those targeted have grounds to initiate legal action, and I hope they do. Furthermore, every military occupation is a vital component of the defence system. Clearly, the complainers have no clue about how the military works. Moreover, V's language skills are good and constantly improving. The criticism is another failed attempt by racists to seek relevance. They believe they are succeeding. There is a clip that claims how much money they cost Starbucks and how they are closing shops because of it. There is a closed shop in the vid as if closing any shop is something new - it happens for various reasons. The only way they could have "lost" so much this fast is when you look at maybe stocks - and it shows how people have no idea how stocks work or what they mean. It's rather easy to make those strange claims with "evidence" that are not really anything of that sort because people don't realize how easily that is fabricated. They have also in their head how big their movement is when it is not. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So please don't mess it up. It's a sensitive issue. The acts against JK and V are clearly coming from haters/antis/solo stans. Their acts are based on immaturity and hatred towards our boys. But the boycott acts are going based on the simphaty and emphaty for those who affected. In this case, specifically the Palestinians. @@megaratnamaimunah949 That is your opinion and that is okay. But I don't think she only meant the recent JK or Taehyung discussion. Watch her vid on "Dirty PR". Because the "Palestine" boycott is not very bright either. There are better things to do - like helping "Doctor's without Borders" and OneInAnArmy has a donation link for people in Gaza. The whole "boycott" isn't going to help anyone - as the problem with Israel, Gaza, Hamas etc. is far more complicated than a boycott can help with despite BDS trying. There were English-speaking people who listened to FRI(END)S and they really liked it. They were just vibing with the song, the melody and harmonies which V showcased; they didn't even turn the subs on. They were actually so proud of V for using full English in the lyrics; they even expressed their heartfelt thanks to V for making the song in English because it made them easy to understand and feel the song. What I'm trying to share is that not all songs can be expressed well in Korean, and FRI(END)S is not an exception. With its simple lyrics, it is best be written and sung in English than in Korean. Also, I don't see any wrong with V's enunciation and pronunciation, they went well with his low tone and soft vibe. My mom has been tutoring a few Korean students... same students... for 2 years now and she really feels sad because some of them still struggle pronouncing some words because of the missing sounds both in Korean and English. Mom said Korean and English are worlds apart.

Thank you so much for reminding people about the status of the war between North and South Korea. I think many people don't understand what it is like and think "oh, that ended a long time ago," when it most definitely has not. I think it's hard for people in countries where no foreign country has invaded or threatened invasion. For Americans, imagine if the Civil War had ended in a barely maintained cease fire, instead of reunification. Imagine that your neighboring states were not only closed to you, but continued to be a threat and only refrained from continuing the war because they lacked support from other countries. It's a strange situation that, while it may not affect everyone's day to day life, it certainly affects the country as a whole and in the back of a citizens mind is the knowledge that a maniacal dictator just across their border could initiate hostilities again at any moment. So the fact that these seven men are serving their country under such conditions deserves our utmost respect.

It's probably kinda like living during the Cold War. I grew up during that time, and it was just something we had to live with, the fact that at any moment, one side might decide to launch, the other would retaliate, and we'd all be obliterated. In fact, my friends and I discussed it on our way home from elementary school: we reasoned that as we lived so close to a very major city, we'd be among the first targeted, and we would probably go up in the initial blast. There wouldn't be any post-apocalypse for us. And we concluded that was probably a good thing. In the meantime, we just went on with our lives, because there's no sense worrying until something actually happens. And yet, you kinda worry anyway. You don't actually think, 'Yeah, see you next week as long as we're both still around then', but there's an awareness and a kind of underlying tentative feeling that 'this could change, badly'.

@@ruthfischer7615 Yeah, NK's been pretty bold with their threats and their testing lately. The Kim dictators have pulled harassing/terrorizing moves before, but things do feel more serious now. I think Jong Un is seeing the stress between China and SK as an opportunity. I think he wants to pull off his own personal Crimea...or Ukraine... and not let Russia get all the territorial-invasion credit, so to speak. Stupid of him, though. China really wants financial advantages from SK, and they are very unlikely to allow Jong Un to take control. And the West will not be pleased, either. The US has a mutual defense treaty with the South...

Haters just don’t stop, do they. It’s rather ironic that they are so quick to criticize and pick on things that are so irrelevant nor important. If they turn all the hate and malice into being just normal and decent human beings they would accomplish so much more in life. There is nothing better than having peace and contentment in life but you can’t have those things if your purpose is to create chaos and drama. A momentary satisfaction can never compare to a lifetime of peace. I will always support and love BTS.

I really appreciate your thoughts and input in this video. My opinion on the protests is that those responsible are actually trying to use BTS members popularity to draw attention to their cause, the so called boycott is of no significant impact looking at how BTS and the members solo work have been charting even in their absences. In regards to JK's choice of military job, many tend to be tunnel vision and only see things in the form of a competition which serving in the military is far from it. From experience working in the kitchen as a soldier is one of the most difficult jobs and is highly regarded, these are the soldiers that keep us fed with very nutritious meals three times per day...a very important task if you're to maintain able bodies that can meet the demands of military. All jobs are important and necessary to have a military command that can rise in victory when necessary. I hope true fans take heed and respect the members choice in service and allow them to peacefully complete their requirement healthly. 💜

This nonsense about Taehyung's English pronunciation is a clear example of the saying, "repeat a lie enough, and people will start to believe it". There's nothing wrong with Taehyung's pronunciation. This is probably the fourth or fifth language I've heard him speak, and most of the criticism I see is coming from people who actually can't speak English properly, and I'm speaking as an American whose primary language is English and who has lived in many countries. Let's not give credence to people whose only motive seems to be to hate. Personally, I'm immensely proud of Taehyung; in fact, I'm proud of all seven BTS members. They deserve it.

When I first saw this video it was on TV and I couldn't make a comment. I try to ignore the political issues that seem to be infecting the young fandom. I like the way you deal with that issue. I was very relieved and happy that Jungkook is a cook now instead of out in the field with a firearm. He likes to cook and even though it's a hard job I want to believe that he's doing OK in that position, working on a plan to take over the management of food service on the base. I was impressed that the first thing he mentioned in his letter to ARMY on Weverse was that he is "exercising hard", putting his priorities in order. As for V's pronunciation, whenever someone mentions that issue to me,, I just ask "and how many languages do you speak?" I have been watching a lot of your videos lately and I'm glad you are willing and able to be a voice of reason in this troubling time. I don't care, as long as it's V..just wait & you'll be amazed how he has progressed. BTW V can also sing a tenor level of song like Il Divo with an operatic voice..thank you and love your channel!

@@taetertoddy1230Well, English does have accents; UK English and American English both have very different pronunciation depending on the speaker's region. People in Texas sound different from people in Maine, who sound different from people in Dakota, who don't sound much like people in California. Their versions of Satoori, basically. Similarly, people in London sound *extremely* different from people in Glasgow- so different, it can be hard to tell that they're speaking the same language. Also, UK English assigns different meaning to some words than US English does, enough to lead to a bit of confusion between tourists.

My family has served in the military almost constantly since the American Revolution. My uncle was in WWII as part of the first airborne in the Army. He was a head cook. He still had to fight and parachute into the fighting. Cooks go with those they have to feed. He loved cooking though... as does JK. When the war was over my uncle ran the kitchen of an entire giant hospital. As for Jimin... not only was he called the god of math but he always had top scores in school. He also alternated between President and Vice President of his class. He's also a black belt. Just because he decided to pursue his love of dancing and then become an idol shouldn't take away from all of that. I've watched him solve numerical problems in his head that I couldn't solve as fast with a calculator. That would be a very valuable skill in the artillery command.

The boys would bully me every day about this, and my mom told me one day just to start Accepting that name that they gave me. The next day when I was called that name, I accepted it, responded to it, and was never called that name again. So many younger armies needed to hear that!
