Spider-Man 2000 predicted the future lmao. I still don't get what the fog had to do with the symbiote invasion. I know it was due to the technical difficulties, I mean story wise. It was never explained or mentioned other than Spidey saying "This must be from where the fog is coming from!". My theory is that it's for people to be unable to leave buildings so the symbiotes can get them.

I have two theories, either the fog was to make it so New York couldn’t see the symbiotes coming, or the symbiotes would fall from the fog like rain from clouds
