Yeah you're right, since they are drawn they can manage to have more detail and expression over the rendered low poly 3d models

It goes without saying the game would look great as a comic book.

It's so interesting looking at all of these different versions, it's like an alternate reality, especially the april build and storyboards

3:43 quite a much versions.

I really never understood the timing problems that the dreamcast/pc has. The Final build aka PS1 is the best version.

Exactly, there were so many errors, bugs and timing issues on the dreamcast/pc version its so annoying.

Those cutscenes used the beta animations, but with the final audio. The big difference is just the high quality models they put in. (And by beta, I don’t mean the April build in this video. The beta version is different)
