i just cannot believe this enginge turned on after seeing water in everything... magic and skill! awesome!!!
You certainly are a jack of all trades. Cars, trucks, motorcycles and water craft... I really enjoy watching you do what you do so well...
I am shocked by how well that thing runs, considering all the water that was in it!
And to think that old girl was once well-loved and very expensive. It is sad to think someone let her get to this condition. Thank you for letting her have at least one more run on the water.
That was excellent. Can’t wait for part three. Truly love the tree growing in it and also the gentle way you carefully removed all of the interior parts to get at the engine that was very nice. You are a crazy person. I like the idea of a open concept with no windshield no nothing that’s it’s a crazy looking boat
I have never seen a squirrel so tame! Mine have all got big attitude issues. The boat doesn’t seem to want to give up so you can’t either! Braze the block and make a utility speedboat. It’s meant to be!
I appreciate your tenacity in getting the floating tenement running ...
Your video shows your perseverance when challenged. There's a lot learned from your excellent knowledge of engine mechanics. I really enjoyed watching! Congrats getting it going!

Damn that was exciting! I was grinning the entire time you were on the river. Thanks for posting 👍
A true mechanic....well done ✔ 👍
"Vented Cap"...you are hilarious!!
I have to agree with the McGyver comment, you’re the best at figuring things out and your drive and determination is amazing!
And once the "trees" in the boat push out their leaves, the shade will be much appreciated during those hot summer days. lol Thumbs Up!
Ha! Like the names of your projects! Customizing the removal of the motor shroud! 😁
I love your boat videos. I'm currently working on my 1977 BAJA powered by a 1977 Evinrude 175 HP V6. Complete tear out of interior and floor. It's coming together nicely.
Just one important thing, it is start and run 😂😂😂👏👏👏
Awesome video! I bought an old boat with a 30 chrysler outboard. Got it running and learned a ton about engines. Now I understand most of what you’re saying when I never would’ve otherwise. Keep it up and the squirrel is hilarious!

Thanks man. And cool, best way to learn!
The sudden humor has me rollin! ‘Thought about redoing the front interior but may just go with an open concept’. Hahahah
Just found your channel today. It’s fun and inspiring and I’m appreciating your know how and time sharing it.
Like the open concept. I'd gut it out. Make an engine hood, add a few chairs. It would make a nice catfish / ski boat. That engine has seen better days. Braze that crack closed, I think you could have a lot of fun. Probably even move faster without all that stuff inside. Good luck.
Leo, your wife must be a saint ! - you should be able to weld that crack - even though many say no can do - there is a method - you are a riot Leo - I love the trash liner - I have a boat like yours and was thinking of making a flat top mini carrier of it. We had a pet squirrel too - that is rare - they are normally quite hard to tame - thanks agin Leo - great video ! Ray
You are just amazing leo - I love it! Ya still have the tree in the boat - hurraaae - I did the same thing with an old Llman boat 40 years ago on Coniwingo dam - a crazy first test ride !
Went back to watch this episode, as I have a boat renovation ongoing myself. Nothing this “big” but it was really helpful to see the bare engine mounting and attachments. Mine is a chev 350 stuffed in a 22 footer. Good times, and really helpful watching your work!
You better give that squirrel some good treats looks like he's really trying to help out with the channel!! Lol that's pretty cool you got that boat running though. Down to bear bones you can make a really nice boat with that!

The trees are the icing on the cake . I am slowly doing the same thing on a 19' Regal great video thanks for the encouragement
Great Video.... LOL.... A Bayliner.... those had a Volvo Pento, I believe... even when new they were considered a boat dumpster of the Great Lakes... nice squirrel !
Love watching you turn junk into junk that’s functional!! Good stuff!
Very cool how you got it running ! great mechanics . Am sure you will do a great job repairing the crack . After that alls left is to clean it all up maybe a power wash on the outside . Then clean up the inside and plant the tree . After all your pet squirrel will love it even more. I subscribed . Frank Rod , Happy Holidays !!!
Great video. Fabulous mechanical knowledge base. Thankful for your acknowledgement of safety issues. So many utubers just want to make a video for the quick ratings You go a whole lot further. Good luck in the future.
No existe satisfacción más grande, que reparar cosas. Felicitaciones
Still with the trees in on the test run lol hilarious. Great post buddy, thanx for sharing 👍🏴
Its amazing how much junk can be salvaged! And appreciate you explaining the components.

I have no knowledge about this engine,I try to follow the repair ,a little much beyond my mechanical know ledge, but very encouraging.thanks for the video.
I wish my mom was still alive to see Leo. She had squirrels eating from her hand in the backyard. Nice mascot for you and your great vids
I love this series. I just got a 450$ Bayliner and have to say, this is really cool. Mine is an 1988 but has 85 Force Outboard. Didn’t have a tree in it tho. Lots of moss, and pine needles tho!
It constantly amazes me your mechanical knowledge and ability to bring cars, boats etc back from the graveyards. Totally dig watching you work your skills. P. S. I love Leo and your wife. No disrespect intended.😃👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
LOL , well that was a lot of fun. I really enjoy your videos and your "send it" attitude. :-) ... The engine in the trash liner actually sounds pretty decent. Hard to find a good mechanic like this guy ,he has the electrical skills I wish I had
Nice to see calm and patients. Very enjoying 🥰
I’ve been a not boat guy a while (been out in the rancocas with my sisters ex husband a few times) and you got me with a passion to get a junk boat and fix it up!
You do a good job at bringing new life to scraped items! Great job!😊
Really excellent ! I love all your vidéos. Nevers give up please. Vincent from France.
Great job, dude. Amazing ton of work and you know how to roll fast thru it. You have an amazing knowledge and good organization of tools and parts and more.
You put in so much effort to get that working! Your knowledge is extensive I wanna learn as much about engines and boat engines as you

Best way to learn is start picking stuff up for free to tinker with. Trash picking lawn mowers and weed wackers is a great place to start. Or free boats! No shortage of them around here where I live.
Every time I watch your videos I learn something new. I have a ton of classic cars, a harley and a 1997 Tioga Camper. Thanks for the great videos
Man this is one of the coolest channels. I love the boat restorations!
Nice work NNKH! Love how you just dive into any project!
I find it amazing…that you can get everything put back together properly. My memory and/or knowledge just ain’t that good….lol. Nice! Blessings

All I can say is we would get along so very well. I'm called macgyver as well by my coworkers and the guy they say to bring that thing to, he'll think or make something work lol. Born and raised in the auto industry by dad, but he passed away when I was 16 leaving me and brother a 36 acre salvage yard. You sir would fit right in. Projects, inventions, you name it we tried it or tried to build it. Now an a/c technician I enjoy watching these videos that I can relate to. Want to play I have alot of u name it it's probably outback in the yard lol. Keep it up buddy as I will continue to watch you and enjoy your dedication and hard work.
This is absolutely awesome, something that most people who like to tinker have thought about doing with all the "free" boats online. Think I might have to pick mine up after watching this
Awwwwww man you having a good time in that river Trenton makes the world take 👍👌

Nice work Leo - now i know I have a double - but you are best Leo! I would have checked the points first - they most always need a cleanup
that's was fun to watch! need to see more on this one.
LOL! Loved the fact that you left the sapling in there for the test run!
Thats where those 3.0 blocks generally crack under the manifold. You can epoxy the external crack, but if you had milky oil likely an internal crack as well
I see that you can make any mechanism work! You're amazing👍
My sister would love you, she has a pet squirrel 🐿 she named hers dalia. I love watch people mess with stuff to see if they can get it going. Have fun, I’ll be watching! 🥰

I've got one of those "trashliners" sitting up on blocks in my backyard as well. Also a freebie from a friend. (The trailer is under another boat) Has the Volvo Penta 2.3. Not sure if it's locked up, but I know there's some freeze plugs out of it. Also needs a starter. Got a boat from a friend with the same motor, but that boat turned out to be in better shape. The Bayliner I stripped all the way down to the hull and cleaned the trees out of it. Stringers were good, but crossmembers weren't. But I've been raiding it for parts for another boat I have. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet. I really like the square guages on the dash. May put those on another boat.
Amazing how resilient these motors are. This is the first time I bumped into this video. I wish I had the determination as you to fix this clunker, but I am sure this will be worth it. Awaiting part 3. Thank you for sharing this experience. :)

Great as usual. The only "but" I have is how cruel you were with that old boat, I cringed all the time 😂
A true bush mechanic mate. Good on you n awesome job
I really enjoyed #s 1 & 2 never thought you would get it running but not only running you got it in the water running strong. Go Trash Liner.
I was just thinking back when that boat was tucked up against the tree with trees growing out of it and now it’s on the river and you’re driving it it’s amazing good job brother
Amazing the plastic welding chems that comes out of a tubes and work well Cheers
You're a maniac and I'm here for it! 😂 I have a 3.0 in my 03 bayliner and this makes me feel like mines brand new
Right up there with bush mechanics...well done.
Good job getting that engine and drive running again. Be nice to see you give it a bit of pressure wash and spit and polish, I'm sure it would come out nice,. My friends let their 1950s cruiser drown in the salt water not long after they rebuilt the engines, real shame, could have gotten them running with a bit of effort
Nice work on that old thing haha, respect for having the patience😂👍
Really enjoyed this video. For an upcoming boat owner I really appreciate the tips you have given.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed it. I don't remember giving tips in this one. But awesome to hear that. Thanks for checking it out
I always keep the Boats drain plug on the inside of the boat. Then if you ever take on a lot of water, you can take off, plain/plane the boat off and pull the plug. The water will drain out. Thanks for sharing.
I do the SAME thing you do- on cars, boats, go karts- anything mechanical. My wife enjoys it and has been telling me to start my YT channel for the longest lol. You’ve def inspired me.
My dad worked for Ford Motor Co at the Cleveland casting plant in Ohio 25 years. Freeze plugs were basically for cleaning out the casting after it was finished. So you're right calling them casting holes.
It's my first time watching your channel, i love your channel brow, you the best and you make it look so easy breezy ,i'm a subscriber and a fan after tonight, keep up the good work ,vary inspiring.
Your ability to pinpoint problems in getting an engine running is just amazing - love this channel and thanks for sharing
I had a boat just like that new back n day , had a 4.3 Chevy motor , mercur foot . Kool video bro .. thx

I love it when something considered trash is restored to enjoyable service. One year I encouraged the alumni from our six-month drug and alcohol rehab program to restore a '66 Mustang. That car turned out beautiful and was featured at the Long Beach Grand Prix exhibition. The men showcasing that car told visitors who admired it, that they too have been restored.
amazing that that boat floated and cruised as well as it did!
