Chinese brands are not known for their racing pedigree, with one notable exception - Lynk & Co. World Touring Car constructors champions on three occasions, their 03 saloon has all the hallmarks of touring cars of old, a full-fat 2.0-litre combustion engine, menacing appearance, and raucous soundtrack. Like the real touring car, the standard version is also front-wheel drive and is a lot of fun to boot. So while EVs are all the rage these days and take all the headlines, the 03 is still rocking its combustion engine and the world is all the better for it.

Nice. I've always had a soft spot for these but never had a chance to drive one till this video. Really enjoyed it.
-Chinese brands are not known for their racing pedigree, with one notable exception - Lynk & Co. Well, there is also NiO but since they are racing EVs, they aren't talked about much. The Lynk & Co. limited racing edition in yellow is a beast, especially you see it in-person.

Well NIO is actually only a sponsor of the Formula E team, they don't provide any parts or skills, just the name, so I can't class them. But yes, the 03+ TCR, and now the 03++ are awesome looking cars.

Glad you enjoyed it. Tried something a bit different to start this one (given it rained almost the entire 4 days I had it), but maybe should have at least said what it was before the montage.

Top Gear says it's based on the CM platform, same as the Volvo XC40 and Polestar 2.

I have the 2022 Lynk&Co 01 plug-in-hybrid and we are happy with it, it's a Volvo in disguise, it has the platform you mentioned I think...

As a combustion engine car you'd be right, though it's modern inside. Think they're drawing out their racing pedigree as long as they can and there's still competition for this type of car in China so it's not on its own.

41,5 UK mpg = 14,65km/l it's very very economical for a 2L turbo 😂

Well to be honest it's a very good milage for me. My Subaru forester can't even get higher than 1:9km/l and it's not even has turbo in it, well but the awd consume too I guess 😅
