My favs are Streets of Rage 1 and 2, Golden Axe trilogy, and Alien Storm. Also, Sports games of that era on Genesis were a huge part of my youth.

Thanks for watching! I remember the Genesis being almost mythical back in the day when it first released. Alot of great games were released!

Another great list. #25 Ghouls N Ghosts was basically the Genesis first "killer app" and Sonic 1 was the system seller. I would have include Castle of Illusion, Revenge of Shinobi, and the best Genesis game ever made, Herzog Zwei.

Thank you for watching and the the kind words! Yes, Ghouls N Ghosts on the Genesis was definitely a "killer app". Altered Beast was really incredible too in comparison to its arcade counterpart. They among others definitely opened my eyes as a teenager back then. And Sonic was just a genius move by Sega. The true console wars was back in the mid 90's. Speaking of the mid 90's, I just uploaded the Top N64 games video. Maybe consider checking it out and see what you think. Thanks again!

Although contra hard corps is a hard game, I think it’s not only the best contra game but probably the best game for the run n gun genre ever and definitely a top 5 genesis game in my opinion. As far as your list is concerned it’s really good I’ll say probably 15 of the games on your list would be in my top 25 as well just in different order.

There is people who feel sonic 2 is a more focused game and 2&k Is really different from 2. The pace is different And I feel it’s 50/50 3&k is more game more everything 2 is a tight package that is very consistent through out the level and how it plays out. Sometime less is more. I usually struggle with which one I put as #1 But I just chose 3&k as a default Because it is a lot more game than just 2… But two have that simple fun romp anybody can pick up and get into. The accessibility of 2 might just be the greatest in a genesis game ever

Totally understand your train of thought on Sonic 2 being the #1 Genesis game. And while add-ons are cool, the impact that Sonic 2 had on the industry, especially Sega's, was pretty massive!

Thank you for watching my video! There's no secret formula. Just record in the best resolution your computer can properly handle and get a decent capture card. Alot of it is just constant tweaking.

I definitely would chose umk3 over mk2. *not that umk is a better game . But it’s better made on the genesis . Sculptor soft did incredible work while probe shat the bat. This is one of the worst versions of mk2 on any home console and I like to forget it existence as much as possible. Maybe one day master linkui will add in all the missing voice samples and change the colors from dark tones to the right lighter tones they are supposed to be. Then add in the ending cut scenes and intro cut scenes and vs screen 🤷🏾‍♂️ like he did with mk1 arcade edition . Baraka fireball is an ugly grey instead of a purple ish blue . Probe just did the genesis the biggest disservice . And after mk2 is when people started switching over from genesis to snes.

Thank you for watching my video! Great insight on MK2/UMK3! MK2 had a much bigger impact on both the Genesis and SNES overall. Both are great games though. I like the combo system of MK3/UMK3.

⁠@@RetroGamingCapsule in the time it came out mortal Kombat 2 was a huge impact. But for sega genesis mortal Kombat 2 was a fatal blow. After the ass job probe did, They made the genesis look old and incapable. A lot of people switched to snes at that time. Couple in with Nintendo’s 1/2 punch Of donkey Kong country , Metroid, Killer instinct, Mario rpg, Umk3 did not have the same impact because we was already close to the end of the 16-bit life cycle and mk3 in itself was such a huge departure from the tried and loved formula in so many ways . Couple with tekken and virtua fighter and capcom’s amazing 32 bit 2d games With other fighter now taking up shares of gamers attentions. Playing mk2 on genesis was not a good look. I personally traded street fighter championship edition for mk1 & 2 And when I realized what an ass job mk2 was I demanded my street fighter back.! Mk2 was so much rubbish on genesis, at the time it was what we had at home, but when I was exposed to the snes version a little while after, I was sooooooooooo.’ Disappointed Wtf.! No ending cutscenes! Just ugly colored text on the damn screen . Ugly dithered colors everywhere in the game and not even the right colors. All dark as shit. Reds was burgundy , tans was brown, light blues was navy blue Whites was blue, blue & purple was ugly Grey. Purple was violet . The colors was a mess Last but not least , No names No screams n grunts Limited sfx And the ones that was there sounded like ass . Super street fighter 2 was so much of a complete package compared to mk2 on the sega genesis. And it was not the hardware’s fault. Probe did a stink job with eveyd single console they was allowed to touch. I like to forget mk2. As much as possible on the genesis . Sculpture soft took the reins and knocked mk3 out the damn park.

You are correct. However, at the end of the day, it was still a major release on the Genesis. And one that til this day is fondly remembered by many as one of the greats. Even if it didn't compare very well to the SNES. Also, the same can be said about the SNES's version of MK1 versus the Genesis. They basically swapped when it came to MK2.

The Blood , ending cutscenes and sharp gameplay, Helped it But it was not spectacular , probe was filth man. Absolute dogshit . I can’t stand the gameplay of mk3/umk3 But when it comes to excellent ports. U can’t deny Mk3 n ultimate is a damn good port on the genesis. Borderline amazing. The right colors, the graphical detail, Fitting all the voices . The animation not just beautiful it was not butchered. Man it was just probe yow 🤬 .! Probe should not have been nowhere near vidoegaming. They shat the bat even on sega genesis . The 32x had such a robust color palette and they still dogshited it up.!! I hate probe and the mortal Kombat games they was allowed to make . Echo was shit! Golden Axe that high? Gun Star Heros should be No. 1 Sonic 2 was my least favourite Sonic!
