I'd suggest exploring other options these guys are pretty good as well their info sometimes is rather biased but knowledge from all ends you know if your looking for good budget stuff I'd suggest commander's quarters, for cedh I'd say playing with power mtg and for like a nice middle ground the command zone.

There’s this neat little commander channel that focuses on semi budget fun builds called Commanders Brew I def recommend checking them out if you haven’t. Plus there so close to 10k subs and I think they would appreciate as well as deserve to hit that mile stone.

I made a custom text tone on my iPhone and it basically took me three hours. For some reason it is impossibly difficult. Maybe they have made the process easier in recent years?

Exotic Orchard is more or a less an auto-include into my non-mono colour land bases, it doesn't have to look at basics notably, someone's bound to play an "all colour" land like a Command Tower for example (or maybe they just fetch a Triome) Always appreciate these budget bombs, feels nice to know I have these in my decks already

Krosan Grip is great for smashing Divining Tops before they even get to be used once. Just like they should be!

I think ive lost ONE game ever to the split second of krosan grip, mid combo execution. It was pretty much the only card in existence that could have lost me the game. That being said, I swapped nature's claim in for krosan grip in all of my decks.

So here's a story about mana dorks: I was playing my Xenagos deck. and I won through *two* (not one but *two* !) Cyclonic Rifts because I had a Guardian Project and 3 one-mana mana elves. So, every time they cast Rift I would go: Guardian Project, Elf, Elf, Elf, draw three cards :-) Btw guys, how about some strategy videos? For example, how to improve your threat assessment, or how to not look intimidating in order to improve your chances of victory etc. i would be very much interested in your opinion on these topics!

LOL I had a game with my Xenagos deck where I played Birds of Paradise than used Kessig Wolf Run giving the bird 6 power than doubled + haste with Xenagos, my opponent was flabbergasted at taking 12 flying haste damage from a ''mana dork'' #BoltTheBird :P

My locals is surprisingly high end competitive, so in my instance I run both natures claim and Krosan grip. Split second is very helpful when someone plays their food chain and I need it gone with out having to worry about counters.

Thought scour is good because of all the tutors that put things on top of your deck. You can respond to draw trigger by milling the card they tutored and drawing for 1 mana

One thing I like about budget deck building is that a lot of the cards aren't good on a budget - they're just good. I've got a fairly expensive Karador list, but it still runs minight reaper, haruspex, carrion feeder, viscera seer, and rec sage. Used to run sun titan but he similarly got dropped off for just being a smidge too slow, but I've thought about bringing him back since he can be redundancy for combo pieces.

You kind of said it, but mono colored decks shouldn't run command tower, a basic has far more synergy

I agree with one exception. If you're running mono green Azusa and your plan is to get field of the dead into play with a crucible of worlds and keep replaying and busting a fetch land, you need a variety of Lands to trigger field of the dead. In that specific deck command Tower is good.

It might not be top 15, but verity circle is an underrated card

I feel like the whole 'setting yourself up to be pub stomped, but maybe pub stomping them' describes my homebrew cEDH deck. Nothing like designing a homebrew cEDH deck and finding some new combos (and thus not really knowing how they'll play, since nobody talks about them). The main combo is pretty weird, and ultra-salt inducing, so we'll see if I can ever set it up. When I saw Mystic Sanctuary, I was more than a little impressed. It's a cEDH combo piece that can nab you infinite turns in landfall decks, and it's a great throw in card in decks that expect to have Islands out (or plan to make it a priority). Compared to the others in the cycle, I cannot believe they printed it. R got a nifty combo land too, but nowhere near as good of one. Regarding 1 mana dorks, keep in mind that Wild Growth is 1 mana and can be free sometimes. It also dies to removal, but it and cards like it are quite nice ramp in some metas. There are some 'bigger' versions too, and some that make any colour. Signets are underrated cards in decks that actually want that fixing, and 2 mana ramp (even if you can't cast a 1 drop off it) feels 'good enough' for fairly high level play. I often prefer Sol Ring into Signet vs a Talisman, because of that fixing advantage. The Signet lands are also better than they look, especially if you have the budget for fast colourless ramp.

Fun fact! Encoring Gray Merchant with Araumi and no other pips in play is a 126 point life swing

I'm not all that hot on Myriad Landscape anymore. The fact that you have to wait a turn and end up spending 3 mana to fetch 2 basics that have to be the same means that anything above 2 colors probably won't want it. Now, in colors like Boros or mono-red, yes, it's one of the best ramp options you have. But most of the time, I'd rather just draw into a Command Tower. And yes, I know Myriad Landscape's ability is 2 mana, but you also have to tap the Landscape itself, meaning you're losing out on 3 mana worth of lands for the turn.

Another thing I like about llanowar elves and such is that they are immune to opposition agent.

I don't understand why gray merchant of asphodel with 2 black devotion can net you 12 life in a 4 player commander game. Each opponent loses 2 life = 2 x 3 = 6? Can someone please explain :D Thanks!

Am I reading tragic arrogance wrong? You shouldn't be able to lose a darksteel citadel to it. It ends with "each player sacrifices all other NONLAND permanents he or she controls" so even if they don't choose your darksteel citadel as your Artifact you get to keep you don't sacrifice it since it's a land

Mystic Sanctuary also sees some play in Vintage.

me out here with mystic sanctuary/time warp loops as the main wincon in two decks: 👁👄👁 in FAIRNESS, trade routes is decent in landfall decks anyways, and soratami cloudskater is a rogue🤷‍♂️

Exotic Orchard is IMO a windmill slam in most any multicolor deck even non-budget. Especially if you are playing either blue and/or green you are almost guaranteed that someone at the table is in those colors.

If there was a 5 color lands matter commander, that isn't Golos because he's not really lands matter unless you build it that way, and there's about 500 ways to build it. Probably way more than that.

Well I do have 2 color decks without command tower and even sol ring but that is just because I have a deck building 'addiction' (currently near 40 deck or so) and one has only that many command towers or sol rings :pppp ... though yeah if anyone disagrees on command tower being the best budget command tower they are CLEARLY wrong ^.^

Guys, I would really appreciate it if you made a video that focuses on great ways to build your kids first Commander deck to introduce them to Magic. Lets face it, we all are getting older daily, and we need to pass on knowledge to the next generation. Im afraid that I may overcomplicate the build and he lose interest before he actually gives it a try. Any ideas?

Tragic Arrogance/Mythos do not get the upside of forcing sacrifice of artifact lands. They're worded to sac all non-land permanents not chosen. You can choose the artifact land to force all their non-land artifacts to get sacrificed though.

My educated guess for number 1 is swords to plowshares tho I'm not sure if that card is under a dollar

Here's a challenge for you; build me a Rakdos Lord of Riots deck that it's also a Rakdos the showstopper deck

Exotic Orchards get significantly better the more other players use them. That way they even help your own lands fix for the orchard. Not in the habit of putting them in my 2-color decks since they frequently face each other, and the 2-color decks don't want to enable greedier 3-color decks.

Yeah I feel they misspoke, for some reason they doubled the amount of life you gained, it would be only 15 since each opponent would be losing 5 life and you would gain 5 life for each opponent.

Run Cycling Lands with Sun Titan.

I do enjoy the fact of playing one mana drops, but just because it’s played in competitive doesn’t make it good for lower powered decks, not trying to pick apart your argument, but you will see cards played in CEDH that aren’t played in EDH. I’m not saying your point is wrong, I’m just saying good in CEDH =/= good in EDH

I totally get not running a lot of the typical edh utility lands in a snow focused deck, but a single slot in the land drops for a 3c deck is incredibly easy to manage without hurting the consistency of the deck. Are you running a low number of lands and pulling off some shenanigans that way? If not you can absolutely slot in V Tower

@@anguishedcarpet I believe I am running 36, with the only non snows being maze of ith, fabled passage, prismatic vista, rogues passage, with most of the non basic snows, rest basic snow. I could fit it, but it doesn't benefit my snow permenants, it's not untapped from jorn so is worth less mana. Is a bit more consistency worth it? I'd say not, and having to remember it can't contribute to any snow costs can be an issue

How is Nature's Claim anything close to Swords to Plowshares? One exiles a creature. The other destroys and artifact or enchantment. The only thing similar is the life gain but even then if you Swords something relatively big then they gain more than 4 lol these things are so juxtaposed to eachother it's kinda baffling lmao

When it comes to having an answer to specific threats, the card-type is very important. So having answers for all types is an important consideration during deck construction. However, when it comes messing with your opponents (to put them back a bit) what really matters is cost efficiency and not so much which part of their boardstate you mess with. In this way, the cards are similar. A good rule of thumb is synergy > efficency > flexiblility. That's why the nitpicking nerds were exited over it, as Nature's Claim is very efficient and so goes in most decks that can't find a better fitting synergistic card.

I think the two are extremely close. Swords is less versatile, only targeting one type of card whereas Claim hits 2, but it does exile, and creatures are generally the most important type in non-competitive edh.

​@@kingginger3335 Yeah, I too like my removal to solve almost any problem, I feel like it clogs up the deck less too. But I´ve also begun including cost efficient cards. I found it can be worth it if the deck needs more interactivity, hindering your opponents while still having the mana to do stuff to advance your own gameplan on the same turn. Cheap cards help both early, when mana matters, and late game, when you are drawing tons of cards / trying to win. I really like that Beast Within can hit lands, as my playgroup auto-includes stuff like Maze of Ith. A similar multi-solution card I enjoy is Bant Charm, though only one deck I have is the right colors for it.

@@NitpickingNerds Thank you for making the video, I really enjoyed it! My favorite pick was Mythos of Snapdex, one of those cards you have to think about to realise how good it is. Even if you don't get to choose it's pretty good, as it hurts the player in the lead the most and likely won't set you back that much if you´re already behind, which is when you want to use a boardwipe anyway.

I do not agree with Hour of Reckoning...out of everything here, Hour of Reckoning could have been something else, tbh...still, great, great, GREAT list!!
