    I found it more helpful to keep my foot "low" , not scraping or dragging the toe which causes my thigh to explode slower.

  • @Leonidas-eu9bb

    I also think the Toe Drag should happen natural without forcing it. I also think the Toe Drag is the favourable technique. It's the effect of making the recovery leg heavy to create more power. This needs a lot of hip flexion power. But this powerfull hipflexion will pull the torso forward and downward. Now the contralateral glute can be even more powerfull because it has something to work against (torso). Asafa Powell and Gatlin both masterd this to perfection.

    Toe dragging used to be a BIG issue of mine but now I just keep my toe low to the ground because of the fact that scraping the ground makes my first couple strides feel slow yet still my pieres say I look really fast coming out the blocks

    But if i dont do toe drag it fells like my heels come up high like carl lewis so thats why i mostly keep my feet low but it slows down your swing knee recovery like we saw in the clip with asafa powell as his foot makes contanct with the ground his swing knee is a bit far behind but other athletes without a toe drag swing knee is closer

    Alot of us Long Jumpers in College had toe drag, it drove me nuts, but I never felt like it made a big difference. In fact most of the elite jumpers, and basketball dunkers did it. Always wondered why.

  • @soul999.
    @soul999.2 ай бұрын

    idk but I feel like when coming out of blocks my leg goes around instead of straight forward so the toe drag kinda helps me realize I'm going straight instead of around.

    just buy pure protein powder. Any shake is a mass gaining shake if you just add more calories. Add milk, a banana, triplle scoop the protein and boom, its a mass gainer. Dont pay supplement companies to mix in their own carbs and charge you for it.

    Bro I 1000% agree with you. I think it's completely unnecessary and can actually make you stumble. Ironically this is something I do and I have no damn clue why, because I don't know where that comes from. Amongst the best sprinters, I'd say Gatlin had the best low heel from the start. His feet were millimeters from the ground and damn near always ahd a good start. Guys like Bolt, Coleman and Powell toe dragged a lot and did have good start, but it did let them down at one point. Bolt stumbled in the 2015 100m semi because of it and Powell also stumbled in the 2012 final because of it. Coleman had a bad start due to it, but I forgot where that race was. Toe drag is overrated and completely unnecessary. If you're dragging I suggest you try to unlearn that
