Yeah same thing here, i would say it was a great one liner but it's not even a line but it was still great anyway. And the bit where he walks over to Joshua and he's crying always tears me up it was so beautifully acted by everyone even the part in the car 🚗 with michel Qissi gets me as well ❤️

Lionheart is in My opinion the best Van Damme movie, because it has all the ingredients. As a fan of martial arts, Kickboxer and Bloodsport are timeless, and Double Impact is a great action movie with double the Van Damme action and legendary fight with Bolo. But Lionheart is emotional packed, has a storyline that keeps interesting. Drama, beautiful fight scenes (all the classic Van Damme has great fight choreography, I think the best there ever was) beautiful end. In the ‘90’s as a kid, Lionheart and Back to the future were recorded on one tape at our home, watched them over and over, and turned out my favorites, watched them this year again and still enjoyed them watching 🥊🥋

He doesn’t seek revenge. He doesn’t relish the fight, he only fights out of necessity. And he’s forced to take credit for the money. He would’ve rather remain anonymous and leave his family ignorant to its origin. A testament to his character is the subtle, easily overlooked scene where he pulls the fighter out of the pool. Refusing Cynthia’s advances also shows he’s aware of her dark nature, and the nature of the business he’s forced to partake in to make enough quick money for his loved ones.

OMG I love the line: “a true story that took place in Frank Dux’s imagination.” You nailed it yet again Viking!!! Oh and I actually got to keep a Lionheart cardboard cutout display from the video store I worked at but it got fairly damaged in a move so I used it for target practice at an open range. Good times.

This is not only my fav JC film, but my favorite film of all time. Being Aussie it was always known to me as Wrong Bet so the line at the end was very meaningful. I actually spoke to Harrison Page on FB a few years back, absolute gentleman. Seeing Ashley Johnson as Ellie in the Last of Us was crazy! I remember importing the European version Full Contact as it was widescreen and then seeing the extended violence at the start with his brother being burned alive was pretty full on! Always confused me that they caught them in one version and the other they didn't know who they were! Apparently the Australian version on VHS is fully uncut but only the one that come with the Kickboxer uncut version (I actually have the Australian Palace VHS release on DVD which adds a different hospital scene). I wish I had the Australian R Rated VHS cut too just to complete the collection.

The orchestral score and string section to Lionheart always makes me very emotional. It's one of those perfect, soaring melodies that drills deep into the brain and heart. I was just humming it to myself this morning and a few tears came to my eye. I've read the film was finished and needed something more, so they spent $250,000 on a proper film score from a Hollywood veteran. Epic win! ...It's right up there with the film score/music Paul Hertzog made for Bloodsport and Kickboxer ;-)

One of the best all time movies of all time absolute classic . my favourite also watched it so many times from 90s . undefeated though . each move was so carefully crafted and no over acting. The only thing I found that was not real was the part when Van dam is on ground fighting atilo on his back he kicked atilo in face from ground on back a detail they made very fake. But very very detailed and amazing martial Arts on the street. Lion Hart was very heart touching movie . I grew up motivated by it. End fight was so real side way punching not typical straight just a very own style type of moves in it. Double take kicks from camara angles so bad ass for its time and ahead of its time movie

It be great to discuss the van damme and seagal movie that almost happened. Van Damme revealed that he and Seagal nearly came to blows on the screen way back when in a little film called "Demolition Man!" Years ago it was proposed that I would do a film with Steven Seagal. I was supposed to be in 'Demolition Man' with him. It was a great project. The script I read was a lot different than the one Sly did with Wesley Snipes. I was the bad guy. He was the good guy because he was the Warner Bros guy." both men turned it down, as neither wanted to play the bad guy. It’s also known that neither of the action stars had much respect for one another.

Its sad, its so fucking bad ass, it has heart touching story, all those characters just pull you in, and that wrong bet scene, Its Iconic! Its the most satisfying scene ever. That confident in JCVD after that “wrong bet” and scream, that fear in Joshuas eyes like he see that change in him, or that finnal scene as he running back through street. Great video! Sadly that special edition isn't available on Europe, at least as far as I know. Lionheart is such a great movie. When I first saw it I really thought Van Damme was gonna lose against that Scottish fighter 😂

No mention of Van Damme's slickback hair on the cover never being featured in the movie? One of those small details I remember that always stayed with me. I would say this is his second best film behind only Bloodsport. I also love the KZread video presenting the fights like the Street Fighter game.

Alex from Double Impact must've taken that pic! Lol... I agree, Lionheart is number 2 for me and Bloodsport number 1. That street fighter Lionheart video is genius!

Death Warrant, a late Canon pictures film, was when I was originally introduced to Van Damme, way back in 1991. However, this is the second Van Damme film I watched, and I think it might be my favorite most days. Love the ending when the clapping starts and the British dude yells "Kick the shit out of him!" Among other great lines, like Joshua stating "You definitely got heart Lionheart. don't ever lose it cause you never get it back (and the forgiving hug)." Great stuff...thanks again. Shout out from Washington State as well! Grew up in Central Washington, now live in eastern King County.

@@VikingSamurai Washington is okay. I have lived here for 43 years and I kind of want to try somewhere else. Though that has become a lot more difficult with the pandemic :( Keep up the good work. I have really been enjoying the videos during these tough times.

Just discovered this channel and it’s brilliant, this is one of my favourite Van Damme films, I’ve just been reading about it and the little girl in it also did the voice for Ellie in the last of us PS4 game which I never knew?

Brian Babin I’ve seen em and yeah not a fan, it’s just not the same, doesn’t have the same charm, the lead actor other than his martial arts skills just doesn’t have the charisma that van damme had in the original

I could never find him. You mentioned you used to live in Washington. Which martial at school did you go to?

I remember when it came out back in 1991 and to this date in my opinion is one if not his best film in the 90s. Universal Soldier would be his second best :-).
