I once had a tarot reading done while being a Christian. I have a friend who's very into all that and really wanted to do a reading on me. I kept telling him no, I'm a Christian and I don't believe in doing that. He kept pestering me and pestering me about it, though. So finally, I cracked, and I said, "Fine, I'll let you do this for me, but let me be clear that I don't believe in it and I want you to leave me alone about it after this" and he agreed. So he shuffled his deck and asked me to draw a card, and I did. He had me flip it over, and guess what was on it? A picture of Jesus. So I showed it to him and said, "See, I told you so!" and he looked rattled and put his cards away. He never said a word about it again. I have to admit that I thought it was both hilarious and kind of awesome. Even the devil knows what's what.

That's why Michelle quoted Deuteronomy to say that sometimes predictions made by evil spirits come to pass as a test of someone's allegiance. It doesn't mean it's not possible, as you claim, it just means it isn't good.

Low and behold he has never, and never will be, by God's word to me, returning to me- it was the evil spirits way to get me to cling to false hope & idolise. They will tell you only the truth to test you. Then when they've got you they can start saying whatever they want. I seal this comment with the blood of Jesus, let no man be tempted.

My grandma was a psychic, but not the kind that was paid for it. She foretold things and it happened. I become a christian at the age of fourteen and had not yet joined a church, so I did not know a lot about what was in the Bible, though I had started to read it. Grandma had started to learn me how to use the cards to foretell the future( just common cards that are used when you play. One night I and my grandma slept in the living room, she on one sofa and I on the other. I was awake, reading the bible and praying for a sick onkel of my, when suddenly the room went frezing cold. I turned my head to see if the door to the veranda was open, and when I did, at the side of grandma, I saw a figure just looking like my grandma, standing beside my sleeping grandma. And the eyes of the figure was red and filled with hate and it wanted to reach me and hurt me. Suddenly I heard a voice in my head telling me " Do not be afraid". When I turned my head I saw an angel dressed in whinte ( no wings at all) standing at the end where I had my head. The andgel was helding up his hand and was the one who stopped the horrible figure to hurt me. It all vanished as suddenlu as it had apperad. Late on I come to understand that the figure I saw was the demon that was possesing my grandma and the one who was working her future telling. Now I know what is behind all that kind of stuff. As a christian one shall keep away fron that kind of stuff. There are gifts in the Holy spirit so there are no need for christians to search help from Satan.

I didn't really start to dig deep into my Bible until this year, and it amazes me just how much I was missing out on. I never went to see a psychic, but occasionally I read my horoscope. I figured reading and actually believing were completely different things. One leads to the other.

I still occasionally read my horoscope in a magazine or newspaper or wherever. I know it's wrong, and I never put stock in it. You know why I still do it? It reminds me how cheap and flimsy most of them are. And once, some time back, I realized that my horoscope in the paper was word for word for a different sign the next day in the paper. There's no science or proof to it. It's vague and can be applied to anyone.

It sounds like the reader didn't even have a connection to her though and was just saying stuff to say stuff and not look stupid. The woman in the video said it herself that the reader said things that didn't make sense when she did her friends reading

Demons "know things" too. The actual translation of demon means "replete with wisdom". So it should be no surprise that mediums who "hear" from knowledgeable spirit guides (or whatever they want to call them) are hearing from demons.

I did the same thing, I went to a physic as a Christian, she said in a roundabout way it was ok to be with a man in question, cause God brought this man into my life! 😳 he was married and so was I at the time. I told her it’s in the Ten Commandments not to commit Adultery! She said she follows Jesus too. It’s 😵‍💫🥺🤯 that’s why we need to stay in the word and not bend to make excuses for sin!!

Many years ago, I was in a very depressive state. For my birthday, I went to a palm reader. I have no idea how long I was in there, but she knew things, deep painful things. Like she'd been beside me my whole life. By the end of it, I put $350 on a credit card, had crystals and some ingredients for a ritual I was to perform before I went to bed. I sat on the bed, lit the thing, and started to say the chant. I felt, physically felt, something try to pierce my chest. That scared me. I wrapped it all up in foil, hunted the giant family bible I'd inherited, threw it in there, apologized to the God I knew didn't love me, and barely slept all night. The next morning I threw it in the dumpster and went to work. When I got home, it was in the middle of my living room floor. I freaked completely out. That was the beginning of my journey to God. Piercing the Darkness is a pretty decent book that, I believe, describes how that works. I appreciate your openness and I'm glad you're ok. I hope your friend is, too!

As a young non Christian teenager I was kind of engulfed in New age and witchcraft around me. My mother would burn specific colored candles in order to create something or a specific energy. The lady that helped raise me was an atheist whose closest friends were witches, psychics and the like. One if her friends did a tarot card reading on me when I was about 15 or 16. Told me about a guy that would wreak havoc in my life. I asked if he was going to kill me because the boyfriend I had at the time was abusive. She said no. He the relationship would end. She gave a few more specific details. And I obsessed over it for a while and then forgot. When I was 17 I believe that relationship came to fruition. Although it didn't dawn on me until years later. I had basically forgotten the reading. One day as a married adult Christian with kids of my own I recalled her reading to my mind again. And honestly it felt gross. It was accurate. But with a adult perspective and a biblical world view I know now that she was definitely getting her information from darkness.

To be fair, most women at some point find themselves in an abusive relationship. The abuse could be emotional, physical, or sexual. And, many men and women who _haven't_ actually been abused in any way by their ex will still consider their ex to be a "toxic individual who wrought havoc on their life". That reading was about as vague and general as it gets.

And it wasn't attention seeking. I'm just someone who was in a very dark place and recognizes that God saved me. And I'm so grateful for that. I'm grateful he exposed the sin as well. My mother went to a tarot reader and she told her about her son (me). The reader basically spoke a set of (humorous) curses over my life that sent my life on a downward trajectory that for some reason my mother was happy to relay to me. I'm so glad I got saved in my teens baptised and filled with the Holy Spirit. Jesus Saves and restores.

My mother is Christian... She sees things through prayer... She told me I needed a mammogram at the age of 37... NO breast cancer history on either side of my family... I didn't even carry the cancer gene... But yes because of my moms vision the doctor found my cancer at the early stages... And four years later still cancer free 🙌🏽

I'm glad to read this, because I do believe a seeing the future gift is possible, and I don't believe all psychics are bad, just that they need to call on God whenever they are relaying messages, like your mom did, to get only what God wants us to know.

Happy to hear you're cancer free. It's still divination, however. As you can see in the comments, it's still creating hope & trust in psychics.

NEVER ever ever dabble with anything like this. When I was 8 yrs old I dabbled with an ouija board. It was the WORST decision of my life, albeit neither me nor my parents knew any better. At one point the demons I was communicating with told me what my newborn cousin's gender and name were; i.e. all my mom knew was that her sister had a baby - didn't know the gender nor the name. This was in 1970 when long distance phone calls cost a lot of $ and it was still cheaper to send a telegram. My mom got a telegram from my grandmother but all it said was that my aunt had a baby. So me and my brother asked the Ouija board "boy or girl" and it said "boy" but since that was a binary 50 / 50 question, we asked it what the boy's name was. It spelled out "Aaron". The next day my mom called the hospital and asked her sister what she named the baby. Yep, she had a boy and named him "Aaron". It was at this time that weird "poltergeist" things began to happen in the house like the furnace switch being turned off repeatedly to the point where my dad got mad because he thought me and my brother were doing it. I grilled my brother but he thought I was doing it. Needless to say we were both really freaked out by this. This was also when I began to feel a very disturbing presence when I was alone in one part of the house; i.e. the feeling that someone is in the room with you and you turn around expecting to see a sibling or one of your parents but no one is there physically but the presence is still just as strong. It was really bad at night and there were nights where I didn't sleep at all because I was tormented by these spirits. You see, I didn't understand that I had unwittingly opened the door to them and given them a certain degree of power to manifest in me and in our home. Five years later when I was in my teens I was in abject rebellion and was doing a lot of drugs. At that point I became fascinated with what witchcraft could bring me in power. I went back and forth on whether to get into it because on the one hand I was filled with lust for power but on the other hand I remembered what had happened when I had dabbled with an ouija board five yrs earlier. I went back and forth on what to do until a BIZARRE demonic manifestation in our house convinced me not to. My younger sister woke up one morning with a perfect ring of water, 5" in width on the carpet all around her bed and on the ceiling. This really freaked us out as me and my brothers were trying to figure out how on earth this was even possible but deep down in my heart I somehow knew it was directly connected to my obsession with the occult. I now know that this was an attempt by these demons to lure me into witchcraft by giving me a sign. I was still obsessed with my lust for supernatural power but the fear I had that these might be evil spirits outweighed my lust. Five years later I was born again. The demons that were within me got kicked out but then came back a year later with w a vengeance. It was only then that I realized just how deeply entrenched they had been in my life prior to being born again. What ensued was an epic spiritual battle with these things that lasted for a year. What I now know is that had I given into these demons as a non believer and went deep into witchcraft I don't know if I ever would have become a follower of Jesus. If you have dabbled in these things and have not repented of it, REPENT NOW. Ask the Lord to forgive you and surrender EVERYTHING to Him. RENOUNCE any and all connection to the occult OUT LOUD and destroy ANYTHING in your house that is directly connected to the occult like tarot cards, ouija board etc.

He TOTALLY delivered me from many bondages, the biggest of which was from my own narcissistic self. To answer your question, please do not burn anything as a way to spiritually cleanse the home. Burning a nice scented candle or incense only and solely for the nice scent to freshen up the home is 100% fine but it should never, ever be done in any way whatsoever for spiritual reasons as some kind of way to invoke the presence of God. Seeking the Lord in prayer, praise and worship, meditating on the Word of God and speaking blessing over your home and family members is the incense that pleases God and cleanses the home.

24 years ago I was bullied into going to a psychic by an older woman who claimed to be a Christian! Her tactic was to book & pay before she told me, then use that fact to manipulate me to go. I knew I was disobeying God, but I went because I felt guilty that I "inconvenienced" this lady. I was a fool. Everything the psychic said to me came true 18 months later, but what was painted as a dream became a nightmare. I never want to disobey God ever again. The ramifications of the decisions I made are still affecting me to this day. It is only due to His eternal love & mercies towards me that God has forgiven me. I can never repay Him for what He has done for me. God's way is the ONLY way! When He says "no" it is for our benefit. Please believe that 😔

My experience was with a Queja board. It kept asking me to invite him in. The enemy would tell you friend they they were walking the correct path away from God. I am an excop and walked in evil for a long time. I know both side. Praise God I was savied.

As a small girl (back in late 70s), our Pastor did an entire sermon on the boards. Apparently it was a trend during the 70s into the 80s (predominantly for girls) for kids, preteens and the like to get them, dabble with them at sleepovers and get togethers. I remember my mom reinforcing the Pastor's warning as we drove home. About a year or so later, I went to my first real sleepover. I think I was about 7 or 8. The girl who invited people, brought out the board after her parents went to bed. Mind you, my mother and father would NEVER of allowed us to have one under their roof. People sat down on floor with it. As she was setting it up, my stomach started hurting. I went to bathroom and when I came out my stomach wasn't better, in fact worse. I apologized and asked if she could tell her mom to call mine and take me home because I didn't feel good. About a minute after my dad picked me up the stomach pain went away. I never told my parents about my friends board (and i think to this day I havent). It wasn't until I was older- like late teens, early 20s that I reflected on that day. I realized why I felt sick and praised God for the discernment He had given me at that moment as a child. And thanked God for the Pastor who gave the sermon. I thank God everyday for discernment, which has only grown stronger with age, scripture reading and prayer! God Bless🥰

I had a demon attach to me when the planchette moved off the board. I blacked out but my friends said I said something in gibberish (tongues) to them in anger and ran away. For the next year I was tormented with deep fear, the demon would curse me out if I ever tried to sleep with the lights off or was in a dark room, I saw shadows and heard things and had sleep paralysis a lot. I ruined my relationships after that and hung out with the wrong people. I was led to God about five years later and gave myself to Him and Jesus and I have truly been saved by His grace. I know in the times the demon had me wanting to commit suicide God was right there with me to help me not do it. I am forever devoted to Him - my life is not perfect but I am out of the constant fear I had with the demon and that in itself is why I love my God so much.

I'm sorry for your loss concerning your cousin such a young soul.

This happened to me once. I was in high school band, and one of the women had tarot cards. Most of us did it, and I had my doubts since I grew up in church. She said I would “lead a boring life.” The band teacher even did it, had a similar reading. We asked her to try again, totally different result. For what it’s worth, life has been the opposite of boring, and with God’s leading in my life, there’s never a dull moment :-).

Melissa, your comment about hoping to get a 'jump-start' (I paraphrase - badly!) w/out having to read the Bible very much resonates with the way 'prophecy' has been used & abused for years by junkies desperate for 'a word' w/out having to read the Bible and pray. For many years I watched the gift being adulterated & substituted for 'clairvoyant' purposes and believe the church has a lot of repenting to do for its sinful & deeply carnal misuse of His gifts! God’s been showing me this same thing lately. Am I pursuing the gifts to affirm my weak faith/boost my spiritual ego or to love people as the opportunity arises and allowing the Holy Spirit to equip me? For the first time, I can say mostly the second is true but it first took building a scriptural foundation to establish an unshakeable faith in God.

Hello sister Carol, just was looking at that passage from James chapter 5 and it confirms what is written in the Old Testament book called Jonah about God being a gracious God and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, now the word great spoke in that passage is also spoken in one of my favorite verses from the New Testament Hebrews 2:3 so great salvation which points to the truth God is our salvation.

My father went to see a witch/ psychic (her description, not mine) years ago. He was VERY impressed because she knew about his deceased mother and told him that he survived his nearly fatal Peterbilt truck crash because his mother was looking over him and basically kept him alive! My dad recommended I call this psychic to find out what is causing my trigeminal neuralgia, which was tempting for a while, but I decided against it. Our Lord doesn't participate in darkness of any form... and this stuff is DARK! It's like playing with a Ouija board. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!

May I add that the "he survived because his mother was looking over him" thing reeks of the religious mishmashing common to occultism. Since one's ancestors helping them out in a concept in some eastern religions, but there is ZERO basis for it in Christianity. God is the one who helps us out, He can do so via His angels of course, but not via one's ancestors. If your father holds The Bible in any sort of regard, may I suggest engaging with him on that point? Since it is one that is easy to disprove via sound Biblical theology. I will be praying for your father that God frees him from such delusions, and that God continues to strengthen you in your faith. Also yeah, I NEVER mess with that stuff to any degree.

Read Acts 16:16. There was a young girl who had a spirit of divination who made her handlers a fortune because of her accuracy. The Apostles cast out the demon from her and her master's wanted to throw them in prison. Even if a "psychic" is accurate, unless they are a true prophet, they are not working with the holy spirit, but from evil.

I was especially helped by a very particular chiropractic technique called Upper Cervical, also goes by Atlas Orthogonal technique. I pray you find answers and healing❤🙏

Wow so true, before God saved me I used alcohol to numb my pain I had. I also had a catholic medium that we called "gifted" and I would go to her for EVERYTHING and you are right, it was just as bad as my alcohol addiction. I used to think that since she was catholic that she spoke to God. Not once did she tell me to read my bible and she had me saying prayers over and over again. One time I called her all excited (this was right before I stopped talking to her) saying I READ MY BIBLE and she responded "Oh I don't read it, I can't understand it" It was a red flag.

You don't understand how much I needed this because Im in a really emotional season in my life in regards to love and I was starting to get curious AGAIN with tarot reading. When I first became a Christian, only days before I got my first Bible, I thought being a psychic could’ve been a gift from God since so many were good people and they were giving good advice. So I was asked what a demon’s job was. I replied “get as many people in hell as possible.” I was told I answered correctly and then I was asked if a demon would be willing to reveal 99 truths if he could get that person hooked on that one lie that would seal his doom in hell. I replied that he would. Right answer. I understood.

Excellent info. I was a psychic before Jesus saved me. My info was often accurate as a reader. Later God showed me this was me listening to familar spirits. When I got saved, God shut that door and Praise the Lord, I could hear them no more.

Thank you for this. I've been saved for almost 11 years this October 🙌 Jesus saved me and intervened in my life while I was getting deeper into new age and occultic practices. I was very into psychic readings, talking to the dead, tarot cards,astro travel, astrology, horoscopes, and read many books that taught how to communicate with spirit guides and angels. I thought it was ok because a couple that introduced this stuff to me I had seen in the catholic church while I went to youth group as a teen. I was obsessed with with the supernatural experiences and wanted more and more. I went for a tarot card reading and during it I felt something physically touching my head and then after I felt a presence always following me for years. I was full of depressed, anxiety, and fear. I had paranormal things happening to me in my home, but that made me even more go deeper into the supernatural to figure out what I experiencing. The thing is that all of that stuff is very real and the information psychic and other occultic practices have can be very accurate. The person is communicating with demon spirits who are familiar with people. The Bible called them familiar spirits and they have assignments of attaching to people and following down the bloodline of the family. They have accurate information because they are spirits that follow people and their families. They don't share their information with you because they wanna help you, but do because they wanna lead you away from the Lord and further cause you to live a sinful lifestyle. People go and are drawn in with that experience and they get hooked. Once you open that door to yourself, the demonic spirits are given legal rights to torment you and affect your life. That is what happened to me and it's only because the grace and mercy of God that I've recieved complete freedom and deliverance. We don't need to know all things. We need to repent and trust alone in Jesus. There is nothing new or mysterious about the supernatural. God is spirit and this word brings life. Lastly, there are no such things as ghosts or human spirits that roam around..they are demons. Don't be deceived. There are no aliens..they are demons. Its all so easy to see when you read scripture. Focus on God and his word.

Years ago, early 90s, a good Christian friend of mine had walked into a new age/psychic bookstore just to check it out. Immediately the owner came up to her and told her that Christians are not welcome there. (how did she know?) So my friend left and then told us about it. Immediately after that each of us in the small friend group began having spiritual attacks. After a couple of weeks of that we all got together and prayed and then traveled back home together to see our home church pastor to talk about it. He said that the whole point of all that activity against us was to make us afraid. That was eye opening. We prayed again and didn't have any more attacks after that.

My brother went to a psychic once before I got saved and also asked the psychic about me. (With my permission.) This lady is very well known and one of the best psychics in the country. Yet she told him she could'n "read" me at all because I had this strong protective shield around me. Or protective field, whatever they call it. I was so disappointed lol.. Now I'm grateful for this "protective field" ! Makes me wonder why she called it "protective" ,maybe because she knows what she's doing is evil and demonic..

My mother-in-law has put Jesus aside and is regularly visiting a psychic to “know” if her affair will last. It’s heartbreaking to see when God’s word is so clear and loves her so much that all she has to do is turn back to him and repent in Jesus name. I am so sorry about your cousin. May God give you and your family comfort. I know this happened years ago but I'm sure it still feels like yesterday. I went to see a psychic many years ago too, before I became a Christian and did exactly the same thing as you! Kept quiet, very minimal answers to her questions. She said "You have 3 brothers" I say, "No, I have 2" and then she says "Oh that's strange. Your guardian angel is called Robert, was he not your brother?" And then I realised, my Dad sadly had a still born baby before I was born with his ex wife. But no one could have known that. She also predicted that I had a son even though I didn't have him with me. At the time I was wowed but in hindsight I've realised the same as you, that although she was accurate, she didn't tell me anything actually helpful and that she obviously had some sort of connection with something that God doesn't want us messing around in!!!!

I came here hoping to hear about a successful tarot story for Christian’s so I could try tarot too without upsetting God, because I’m in a time in my life when I am paralyzed by fear and don’t know what to do. But everywhere I look on KZread I see stories about why it’s evil and not a single one from a Christian perspective that says otherwise, or even that it’s harmless. It’s not even a question. Why are you worried about a demonic voice giving you a future. Because even whatever they tell you...God holds the future and the power. He is the one who makes to you successful blessed and strong. It's useless actually...other than yes if you want to sin. Ask God and bring your burdens to Him. Justifing going to a psychic to see if u “ could trick them” is tricking yourself.

When I was a teenager and long before I was a Christian, I practiced the occult. My father's side of the family was into astrology and spiritism. So I became interested too. I bought some tarot cards and learned how to do readings. I was about 14 or 15 years old at the time and I brought my tarot cards to a family friends' house and proceeded to read the cards for my friend who was in her senior year of high school and about 17 at the time. I told her someone she loved very much was going to die in a year but it wasn't going to be her parents or siblings. It turned out she was 3 months pregnant and she got married to her boyfriend right after graduation. He baby was born, but died before reaching a year old. I didn't think about it afterward till she told me a few years ago. I was so sorry that I had those cards and I am so glad that I repented of witchcraft and the occult. This stuff is dangerous.

Do not consult with unclean spirits. They are filthy and God has placed a veil between them and us. They will fascinate your mind and make think you know secrets that others do not know, causing you to believe that you are special and even have a gift from God Almighty. After they have used you they will destroy you or make your life so miserable that none can help you but God. The Lord has warned us to not consult with unclean spirits and that is for our good. This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” She followed Paul and us and cried out repeatedly, saying, “These men are bond-servants of the Most High God, who are proclaiming to you a way of salvation.” Acts 16:17 She was demon possessed and when Paul cast out the demon her master was angry that she was no longer useful to him.

There are times, alot at night that I have felt and periodically still do feel like there is evil around. I never feel as though they are IN my house, but just right outside my windows, sort of "looking in". It has been my practice my whole life to begin a short simple prayer and repeat it over and over until the feeling of evil outside is gone. I simply pray something like, "My home and my body, mind and soul belong to Jesus. Everyone and everything in this house belongs to Jesus. Anything or anyone who is not of God us not welcome in this house or in my life. In Jesus name please drive away evil from my home and life." Just keep on repeating. Sometimes i say it once and feel the Holy Spirt with me and comforting me, other times I have repeated for 20 minutes! I believe some evil is simply stronger or more enticing depending on the person. I never stop the prayer until and only until I feel the overwhelming love of God and the strength of His arms holding me safely from whatever the "thing" that was trying to get into my life has been defeated. Praise God! God Bless🥰

@@shiloh7094 demonic dreams, hearing someone walking in my house at night, doors shutting, knocking at the door and no one there, small glowing lights in my bedroom in the middle of the night dancing around up towards the ceiling( with no cars driving by), feeling someone hovering over me and beside me close enough where I can barely breathe, things rolling off tables for no reason, smelling cigarette smoke in my room when no one smokes in my family. I tended to just sense in my Spirit that something was not right. That something was in my room and over me( we live in the country with no close neighbors) most of the time it went on at night. This went on for a number of years on and off until I put two and two together. Please let me know if you need prayer.

Many many years ago, my parents burned a Ouija Board that one of my aunts or uncles had. Long story short it burned and the flames had multiple colors, it also burned for hours. Finally it made a screaming noise while it burnt. My point being the occult is real and evil and should be avoided.

Wow! That's quite a story! I got hooked on the Ouija board big time many years ago, playing with the darned thing for hours every day after work. I pulled in particularly dark spirits and was tormented for many months. I experienced sleep paralysis for the first time in my life, and it was TERRIFYING! I was held down by these demons and nearly squeezed to death. I saw figures in my bedroom + a spirit female crawled onto my bed one night and nearly gave me a heart attack. Thanx for commenting about that. Ouija boards are demonic and should definitely be avoided at all costs!

I once knew a guy who had SERIOUSLY become dependant by Satan or a demon by using Ouija. I think he got it that way, I think he told me that, but I could remember wrong. But fact of the matter is, he had done Ouija, he somehow also had a life with lots of pain and hatred, and he also had some kind of shackles/SERIOUS connection by Satan. How do I dare to say such a thing? - I was in that guys' house and his iris' kinda started turning like wheels and then the guy talking to me was the same physical body but a different person. That whatever-it-was talked to me a looong time and tried different things to spiritually win the fight, and at one time even offered me all wealth I would want if I stopped following Jesus! I am so grateful God sheltered my faith that night. Moral of the story: keep ya Fingers off, Ouja is real and dangerous and so is demons.

@@RealScarlett33 I had similar experiences with ouija and more - the sleep paralysis was the most frightening thing I've ever experienced. No one will ever convince me this wasn't a demonic attack.

I'm glad you talk about this. when i was a "christian" my friend brought me to New Orleans for her 21st bday. I was claiming the name of Jesus and just being in NOLA i could feel the presence of evil all around me.. yet I still somehow got talked into a tarot card reading. and spent my time there getting drunk. my faith was so weak and i was rebelling against God without even realizing it

Back in the late 80’s I was in a fairly serious relationship with a woman who was agnostic but her mother was a self proclaimed Christian and an avid tarot follower. She attended readings every week like clockwork. She was constantly dredging “information” about me from her reader and passing it on to her daughter. Sometimes involving her daughter in the sitting as to convince her to stay away from me. I was raised in the Christian faith and knew from an early age the true deception of this stuff. My girlfriend would relay the information her mother received about me and it was absolute garbage. I was being portrayed as an evil wedge that was hellbent on destroying their family bond and pulling my girlfriend into a life of chaos, which was total nonsense, but played on the fact that I was desperately trying to convince her not to believe in that crap and rely on circumstantial facts. Her mother was very controlling and psychologically manipulative and ultimately destroyed our relationship.

God is amazingly graceful and merciful and has forgiven me and giving me and amazing life where I serve him daily and my life is full of blessings. I used to practice witchcraft, specifically tarot cards. It's not something to dabble in, and looking back I'm so thankful that God saved me from it before I became too controlled by the enemy. It gives you a sort of false authoritive high, thinking you can control the spiritual world. How very wrong I was! The Holy Spirit guided me to burn it all weeks after I became a Christian and God blessed me with healing a skin disease I'd had for over 15 years. Thanks Melissa for the vid! More Christians need to realize the dangers of this stuff... I was utterly shocked at how many Christians (whether back sliding, confused or ignorant) fall for this crap. The enneagram and horoscopes are the same thing as tarot cards.

Thanks, Melissa. A timely reminder of how dangerous it is to engage in activities the Bible warns against. I think we all have a desire to know, but so much bad can come of the exercise. I’ll stick with God’s Word.

When I was 25 and living in LA, my coworker suggested I visit her "spiritual advisor" (everyone knew I was a Christian and didn't want to entertain a psychic) I think because she said "spiritual advisor" my guard was let down. I come to realize this lady was a medium. When I got to her house, there were no tarot cards or anything but she used my palm. She then brought up my brother who had passed away just a year earlier. The other thing she told me was I needed to go to a specific acting class. (I was an aspiring actor at the time) I never went to the class (mostly because I was poor) but I always wonder about how my life would have ended up if I took that class. Because I opened that spiritual door, satan really had a field day with me. I mean, any bad thing you think could happen, happened in the years following that from depression to poverty.. I ended up moving out of LA but i think about that one day all the time and I warn people against mediums. Dont open those doors!!

Coming from a Latin American perspective, I remember being told of the evils of brujería and Santeria. It astounds me to learn of Christians either turning to that stuff or that stuff entering in with a Christian veneer. Thank you for sharing the wrongs of these practices. Since you mentioned of how the psychic’s place did not appear as expected, looking up a former New Age teacher before Christ surprised me. For some reason, I expected to see someone dressed up like Walter Mercado with his long flowing capes and robes, only to find a soft spoken lady in nice dresses.

My husband's grandmother who raised him was Santera. He would see demons as a child sometimes in the places he lived. I agree it's horrifying to see so called Christians dabbling in things the bible clearly says are evil and demonic.

There are things that while I am intrigued by Puerto Rican culture, I avoid due to either it being tied to other religions (like that certain elements of Taino culture,) or look just plain creepy to me (like the vejigante masks.)

Speaking of Santeria, I think you should check out this guy named John Ramirez. He got sucked into Santeria at a young age, rose up the ranks to become known as Satan's son, and was miraculously saved 22 years ago. Check out his story.

One time in high school I took a psychology class and at the end, as sort of a treat, they brought in a hypnotist & asked for volunteers. I wasn't sure if it was right or wrong, but I wanted to give it a try. It's true that you're still in control of what you do and can choose not to do things you don't want to. But after it was over, I remember, even as teen w/o much understanding of this, I sensed the presence of the Holy Spirit had been with me, and I felt certain he had been protecting me while I was in the trance & in such a vulnerable state, when my defenses were down. It reminds me of how, at other times when I've felt an evil presence, it was almost always when I was half-asleep, i.e. in a trance-like state. So this is something I feel Christians should also be cautious of. I also think this is why TV can be dangerous b/c watching it is so passive & can almost be like being in a trance. I don't watch much TV, but the other day I was just glancing over now & again to see what my parents were watching, and I noticed on one show a banner kept popping up about something called evil or paranormal or something. And then commercials with lgbtq agendas & other agendas popping up & I thought, my gosh, they want to throw those messages in there while people aren't paying attention. I'm not saying to not watch TV, that's up to every individual, but my thought is, what does it hurt to NOT watch TV? I think we can all come up with better ways to employ our time.

With my family mysteries similar to that of Ms Dougherty, Jesus revealed to me small details over time. Then at the right time He brought all the details together and gave the answers I sought for years. The beauty in turning to Jesus is that He is loving and gentle even with hard truths.

I had a spirit speaking to me claiming to be the spirit if a departed young man. I contacted his mother and relayed messges to her from the spirit. They were all accurate but it felt so wrong. Then I looked up scriptures about mediums and I immediately prayed for God's help to stop the communication and forgiveness for participating in this.

I was a witch before I became a Christian because I believed it was nature directed and gave me special insight that also gave me a power others did not have. This was back in the day where phones hung on walls and TV had 3 channels. Having a lure of extra knowledge was very tempting and the natural tie in was the sugar coating that 'made it OK' for me. When I became a Christian, long story I won't go into here, I had a sensitivity to the demonic. I could feel where they were. This, being several decades ago, has given me insight regarding people like that psychic. There were demonic forces on both sides of that table. One that was telling you it was OK. One that was giving the psychic info about you. Your side was telling her side what seemed like real truths that would entice you closer to, for want of a better word, the dark side. Your friend, I assume was not a Christian and therefore was already on the dark side and needed no 'proofs' to trust. I still will not give an inch to any darkness. Even after fifty years. That is a spirit of divinity. Demonic spirits can tell a medium what is current or past but can never speak of the future. Only God has that power to be completely correct about prophecy 💯 % of the time.

The 'spirit of divination' (I think you meant) can attempt to re-route your future narrative onto a demonic track. A disastrous kind of self-fulfilling prophecy. Jesus however will set your narrative onto God's intended path to freedom and make you free indeed.

I played a game a long time ago when I was extremely high on drugs and during a wicked time of my life. This game was just me and a deck of playing cards asking God to reveal something to me. I asked "If I pull out the ace of clubs, will I win the lottery". Yes, a crazy thing to do but I was actually serious about it in my mind at the time. Well, I pulled the ace of clubs from a shuffled deck. I thought it was a coincidence so I reshuffled and did it again. Ace of clubs!!! Third time, Ace of clubs. 3 shuffles 3 ace of clubs. I never played the lottery since that night. I immediately felt the presence of evil and it scares me to this day. I am still tempted to play the lottery all the time. I just don't believe God is going to give me money that way. It seems too easy and may cause me to turn away from God if I get too much.

I was involved in the occult once. A demon kept following me everywhere and satisfied my lust of flesh. I repented and no pitch black being is following me anymore. That was in primary school. Guys, I thought I was manifesting a fairy friend! But it was a pitch black demon following me and flying everywhere. The Bible passage in Acts about the people burning their magic books and follow Jesus gave me immense relief because it showed that I could repent from witchcraft and ouldnt be gig to hell for it! It's a miracle I'm not demon possessed because I know the story of someone who wasn't as lucky as I was. The guy was possessed for years.

I used to read playing cards and was told I was very accurate. I have repented of this and come back to the truth of Christ but there is a spirit world out there. There are demonic spirits giving information to people who tap into that realm.

Yes! Thank you for this video. I got into new age stuff after my brother died. When I was finally able to get myself up and moving, 5-6 months after he killed himself, I told myself that I wouldn’t give them any info and I wanted to see what they said/knew. I never brought him up, they did. They knew he died and that he killed himself. They told me he was sorry and that he just couldn’t take life here on earth. The thing is, when my brother died I heard his voice clear as day like he was sitting right next to me. He said “I’m sorry, Ash.” He was in NY and I was in AZ. It was 45mins later when my aunt called to tell me that they found him and that he was gone. I already knew he was gone and that he did it on purpose. I never brought this up to them, but they knew. This opened me up to believing the new age movement for the last 4 years or so, but I finally removed myself and I am getting back into my Bible and the real word of God. Please forgive me, father 🙏🏼.

Such a good video, Melissa. It was clear concise and helpful. Before becoming a Christian, I attended a "clairvoyant school" where I learned meditation, how to contact my spirit guides and how to read and interpret auras. At first, I sat in as an observer when auras were read. When I did my first one, it scared the daylights out of me. It is most certainly demonic and powerful. Thank you for teaching and warning others.

I fell for The Course In Miracles. God is so merciful because He led me out of that quagmire and used that experience to show me the stark difference between what is truth and what is not. It’s like touching fire…I will never go near it again. I cover my ears literally if I hear anything occult on tv, movies etc. I prayed for forgiveness and went through my memory to close any doors that I had opened by my ignorance and thirst for knowledge. I cry in gratefulness for His mercy and gentle care for me. Thank you for your teachings. I really appreciate you!

I took a friend from work to a psychic. I stood outside the booth, looking at the books and stuff. When we left, we were on the freeway, and it was gridlock. But strangely, a lot of noise from outside or maybe the ac? I said why is there a wind sound? The co-worker was driving, and said I don't know, it's not the ac, and there's no wind. She then said why is there flute playing? I said, "What flute?" Just I head a flute play on my right ear (the door was on the right too). It sounded discordant, like a child playing. And then suddenly, no more wind, no more flute. It was weird. It must have been a spirit from the psychic or the store. I am never going near a psychic or whatever, ever ever ever again!

We need to repent from anything in the past related to the occult, idolatry or superstitious things. Even having a rabbit's foot as an ignorant child or anything for luck or good fortune should be repented for. Ask the Holy Spirit to bring anything to mind. I have gone through deliverance and have much more peace. When we are saved, our spirits are saved, but we can have demons in our souls and bodies from past disobedience. Repentance will free you. God bless everyone.

So true and the spirt definitely will being back memories so you can repent if you ask him to. It may not happen on the same day but over time he'll reveal things you didn't know was a sin or you forgot about so you can repent of them.

I’ve been to several psychics over the years during the many years I was absorbed into New Age & self-help ideologies and practices. Ironically that in itself should be a red flag. New Agers teach to become personally enlightened. Yet followers spend millions ~ if not more ~ attending talks, classes and going to psychics! It feeds the part of the personality that dislikes the unknown. Wants answers yesterday. Yet, so many people following these movements never move past the need for more classes, more ‘healings’ and more readings! Anyone else experience this? I did! I also appreciate what you said about how even the accuracy offered nothing to help your life. I’ve seen or spoken by phone with people who gave me startlingly accurate insights as to all I had experienced. Well I already knew what I lived through. Some readings downright pissed me off. So I learned that I needed to be very wary. What you hear can influence what you believe which in itself can be potentially detrimental and take you off course or cause heightened fear! I’ll also say that before becoming born again I was falling away from all of it. I briefly worked at a metaphysical store one morning per week to do energy healing. As an outsider, I was drawn to the readers and owner ~ and all the bright sparkly crystals! As an insider, I saw another side. And it actually clinched my exit, then repentance from it all! Some of these places have really creepy energy! I watched as people relied on these other people for life guidance in lieu of counseling. And, as I said, it became habitual. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all else will be added unto you! Just have to be patient and let God work through you in your life.

I had a friend that went to a palm reader and during the reading he said I don’t think I should be here because I’m a Christian and she squeezed his hand and broke it.

Today especially we are seeing a lot of young people including one of my grandchildren, great-niece and other nieces and nephews who are very much into stones. Examples are different types of healing Stones, evil eyes Etc it would be great if you could do that as one of your topics! I'm going to share this one with my granddaughter who was dabbling with some of the things you mentioned. She just doesn't understand she thinks it's okay because everyone does it

Or unwillfull sin. We'll sin so long as we are in this fallen world. The Bible says to ask for the hidden sins to be made known to us too.

@@KJ-lb4tj I see what you mean but when you’re in Christ and born again the sins of our flesh naturally aren’t what stops you from having God’s protection, of course we still need to repent daily for our sins including the ones we didn’t know we committed, but essentially Christ is our covering and He intercedes on our behalf so God sees His unblemished sacrifice instead of our rusty flesh nature, so I don’t think it’s the same as when we do things knowing they’re wrong or goes against God, that’s when we’re opening ourselves up to the enemy to be attacked. "God doesn't protect us from willful sin."? I think that needs a little more clarification. God is sovereign and protects us all the time whether we engage in deliberate sin or unintentional foolishness. Who hasn't heard the stories of people who tried to end their life but the gun didn't fire or something beyond their control intervened and saved them? I think her statement needs greater clarification. In the meantime, rest in the assurance that, "...being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."

I still think that God does not protect us from willful sin, because otherwise what we do doesn’t mean anything. Can I give an example? If I know that I shouldn’t k!ll a person but I see someone walking passed me and I shoot them, then, I am not following what is right deliberately. It’s direct offending God. It’s an “ I don’t care”. Its a slap in the face, and though God is not necessarily physically hurt by this, he must grow sad and disappointed for us. I belive what we do and how we act matters.

Long ago, I heard someone talk about a local psychic who was very accurate. It intrigued me, although I didn't believe psychics were valid. I took my daughter along with me. He was pretty general, but did tell me I was going to make a major change to help my parents (which I did, a year later). He also told me I would marry again (Yay!). My daughter was quite upset because he told her she would not marry her fiancé. I told her that this is why Christians don't go to psychics, and I repented of it. Fifteen years later, I never did remarry and my daughter is very happily married to her fiancé!

Thanks for sharing your experience. I remember being super curious about this when I was in high school because I passed a psychic place in the mall every week after church but I could never bring myself to actually go in to check it out. Deuteronomy 13:1 was a great verse to cite! After telling people not to be involved in pagan worship (12:29-31) the very first thing Moses said about how to avoid idolatry was basically "Don't listen to false prophets" (13:1-5) because miracles all by themselves aren't a test for truth. Today, when I talk to people about this, I help them make a distinction between any kind of supernaturalism and the truth claims associated with such phenomena. Again, excellent video. One of the most painful parts of losing a child is that people seem to think that we're hoping to hear from him. My daughter is getting VERY upset with people calling to "give you a message from your brother." She knows it's BS. I told her that all we can do is thank them, hang up the phone, and then let it go. Know that it's just their own personal wish fulfilment and don't let them suck us down that rabbit hole. Hell, a friend of mine told her hair dresser about his passing and SHE decided that she had a psychic message from him. smh What REALLY gets frustrating is when they get upset with us for refusing to go 'get a reading' ourselves. I just smile and say, "If he has something to say to me, he can speak to me directly. Otherwise, I'm not interested." It's a painful topic for us and the last thing we need is (good willed, but misguided) people putting this crap in our ears.

When you say "Psychic" It sounded like "Sidekick" to me LOL it's kinda accurate though
