The Thing (2011): Kate Lloyd, a palaeontologist, joins a team of scientists in Antarctica where they discover an alien buried in ice. However, things take a turn when the alien escapes and goes on a killing spree.
The Thing (1982): A research team finds an alien being that has fallen from the sky and is starting to hunt them down. Things take a sinister turn when they realise that the creature can take the shape of its victims.

He's probably squinting against the snow, being moved and rocked sightly by the helicopter flight, plus bullets don't kill the thing, so it's possible some did hit and were just aborbed

@@TheHolyTrinity22_5 ... firstly he was STOCK STILL initially when the dog was at close range. Secondly.. all they had to do was loiter in front of the dog as it ran in a straight line towards the other station.

You could shoot it all day and nothing would happen. McReady was dumping loads of buckshot in it and needed a flamethrower.
Lars with that HK and the snow goggles is an iconic look

So everyone tends to watch this at Halloween, I myself an intellectual, watch it at Christmas to freak out my family...slip it in the DVD player after The Grinch but before National Lampoons Christmas Vacation 😂

Best part of both movies. Loved how they connect.
We see the thing tank bullets in the OG film, if Lars had scored a hit it might not have even slowed it down

That tune yer listening to is composed by Ennio Morricone, the same person that composed The Good The Bad and The Ugly
One of 2 things in the prequel true to the original. The other being the block of ice.

Love The Thing. JC classic horror too creepy n eerie. 2011 was good too.

This is and will always be my favorite sci-fi movie because I hate sci-fi but this movie is and will always be EPIC!!
Just watched the 80s O.G the thing... It's a little different but still kickass
A classic masterpiece
Jed the wolfdog was born in 1977 and died in 1995. His other big film roles were White Fang and White Fang II Jed was an amazing actor
I think they forgot that a helicopter can hover, therefore giving the guy with the gun a much better chance of shooting it.
This film scare's the shizzle out of me. Old one is the best tho
I used to think he kept missing but now I think the bullets just didn't stop it.
I remember this movie saw the same day it was released me my sister bless her soul and her boyfriend takes me back😎🙄

that's the cool thing from what I've heard about the other movie is it's not a reboot but in actuality it's a prequel to The Original

That dog outran a chopper for least 50 miles! Thats the only flaw. Serious they hunt wolves by chopper in Alaska.
The 2011 Thing didn’t hit the same as John Carpenter’s Thing but I loved the ending of 2011. In my opinion it was the best part.
This was probably the best prequel into of the original, that I have ever seen both of great films

That's ending was the only part of the thing prequel that gave me chills..

There were some problems with that. At that point Lars would have been dead and the only helicopter pilots were American. Also the Scientists at the US camp refer to them as Swedes. The camp they visited was Norwegian. Just a slight discrepancy. Still love both the John Carpenter remake of the B&W version and the Prequel.
So what movie is this? And why is he hunting the dog? And yes I probably should watch the movie but is it a good movie or is it a sad ending with the dog die or as a dog evil?

The Thing, the dog is not a dog. Don’t want to spoil the rest for you but it’s really good. Watch the original one made in 1982 first.
